Bio

Hey there~ I go by the name of Amaralyn.
I mostly linger here during my summer break. I live in a CET (or GMT+1) zone, so it is likely I won't be able to post during the same time as most of you. Also, as is stated in my signature, my first language is not English. I do my best to make sure everything I write is proper English (especially when it comes to proverbs and things like that) but may you ever encounter an error in a post (or this bio for that matter), however small it may be, then please notify me via a PM.

As for roleplaying, my favorite genre is slice-of-life, though I am also up for some mystery and horror aspects and don't mind fantasy and fighting to a certain extend, especially if it's an original concept. I for example am fine with RPs that center around high school students with magical powers, but don't like RPs set in Medieval times with orcs and elfs and the likes. I'm also really not into sci-fi/mecha stuff, nor in RPs which are set in apocalyptic situations. I've never really tried one-on-one RPs, but if you're looking for a partner and have a plot in mind which you consider I might like, then feel free to hit me up.

All of that aside, I look forward to roleplaying with you. :)

As her alarm rang Naomi drowsily turned it off, muting the annoying ringing, and pulled the soft bedsheets over her head. “It’s way too early to be getting up...” she complained from underneath the blanket. After a few minutes the whiny meowing of her cat finally made her get up from the comfort of her bed. The chunky feline followed Naomi as she started to make her way towards the kitchen; she knew exactly what her pet dragged her out of bed for. She opened one of the cupboards to fetch the carton box of cat-food. She emptied the box in a bowl, spilling some of its contents on the ground, which the cat immediately started to chew on. As she put the bowl on the ground she took another one off the floor and filled it with water. “There you go, Tama,” she smiled at the sight of her cat who appeared to be famished by the way he was gobbling down the food. Now that she was in the kitchen she figured she might as well make herself something before getting ready for work. She could actually use a coffee -- she wasn’t exactly a morning person -- but she would save that until later. “Perhaps I can ask Minkyu to make me one..." she pondered, her cheeks slightly flushed at the embarrassing thought of asking her superior.

Having finished her cereal and taken a quick shower, Naomi slipped on her work clothes and packed any things she may need for the day. After going through the house, checking that all the windows were closed, she left the empty apartment and locked the door behind her.

On her way to the café her mind wandered off to her destination: the things she would be doing today, the pretty pastries she would see but unfortunately could not get a taste of, her colleagues making the edible pieces of art... She really enjoyed working there so far, even for the short time that she had. It was a nice distraction from school and quite honestly she rather enjoyed the attention she got from the customers.

Soon enough the familiar building came into view; with its freshly-painted white walls and bright decorations the bistro stood out against the buildings surroundings it. The chiming of the small bell above the entrance sounded as Naomi entered the room where her co-workers were already gathered. “Good morning~” she called out to them in a merry tone before rushing to the back of the store to put on the rest of her uniform. With an apron neatly strapped around her waist and with the cat ears and tail in place, she was ready to start her shift.
@Amaralyn there's no specific country really, but most cosplay cafes are in japan, so.... :3
i like your character! she's really cute!! add her to the character tab~

@Squirrel98 just to clarify, at the café he's wearing a butler outfit. nevertheless, he seems like a cool guy. Amelia can make him lots of sweets <3 accepted!

how do you guys feel about IC? i want to start as soon as possible!!

Great to hear you like my character ^_^ I just added her to the character tab.

I'd also love to start soon. Shall we wait for one more person to join us or shall we just start?

oh, and another question for all -- how long has your character been working at café crème? the café has been around for a few months or so.

My character would be relatively new. Maybe she's been working there for one month or so.

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Job: Waitress

Personality:
Being one of the younger employees at the café, Naomi sometimes feels a bit insecure in the midst of her skillful colleagues. She looks up to her co-workers who are experienced in making the prettiest pastries and most beautiful latte art. Even though it occasionally makes her feel helpless, she is keen to learn and strives to become just as good as them. Naomi can be a bit childish and whiny at times, but she is a persistent girl who gives things her all once she sets her mind to it.

In the café she plays the role of little sister, an act perfectly suited for her. The cat-like traits she shows are based on her pet Tama, a big, lazy cat who likes to doze off in the sun and loves to be petted. She will also refer to herself as Nyaomi.

Background:
As an only child of two hard-working parents Naomi grew up without any hardships. Her parents would often spoil her with sweets, toys, and trips to the sea. They were not around much because of their long shifts, but made sure to spend any time they could spare with their little girl and make the most out of it.

During her early childhood Naomi’s parents often let their daughter stay over at her maternal grandmother, who resided in the rural parts just outside of the city Naomi and her parents lived in. It was here that the young girl developed her love for crafting, in particular origami. Her grandmother taught her the arts of folding paper into small, colorful animals and flowers. Although she does not practice it much anymore nowadays its influence is still present in her love for dainty decorations. The two quickly bonded and Naomi was never really looking forward to going home; although Naomi gets along well with her parents, they never really grew close because they were away so often.

Since Naomi did not have any siblings, she would often rely on others. She decided to take the job in the maid café to gain a sense of independence after instantly being drawn to the cute gimmick.

Color of Uniform: Soft orange

Other:
  • Primarily works as a waitress, but is an apprentice barista.
  • Has a slight preference over creamy- and chocolate cakes over fruit-based desserts.
Might change her surname later in case the story is set in a specific country, but other than that I hope this is fine:

I'm currently working on my character. I was wondering in what country this is set, if any?
(I like to adapt my character's name to the country the story is set in, that's why I'm asking :3)
Just want to show my interest in this one! I love the simplicity and cuteness of the idea :3
I'll try to have my character done this weekend
Definitely interested!

Shiori stared down at the letter she was firmly grasping onto. It was a short text, and exactly that made her feel anxious but eager at the same time. Part of her wondered whether the letter might be just a prank, but the thought was overshadowed by the curiosity stirring deep inside of her. Was there really a magic academy? And if so, why were there no traces of it? Could it perhaps be in a parallel world? Was that why students had to be teleported there? She had to find out. Even if all of this turned out to be a mere joke, at least Shiori had verified it, rather than let the chance slip through her fingers.

It had mostly been her parents who had encouraged her to accept the invitation; it would be a great opportunity to develop her talents. Shiori had said goodbye to them only a few minutes ago. Their departure had been brief to make things not too overdramatic, and who knows, she might be standing at their doorstep again soon for all that matter.

“Spare set of clothing... Pajamas... Notebooks...” Shiori mentally checked whether she had gathered everything that would be necessary or handy to have during her stay at the academy; she was not sure how long her visit would be nor whether it would be easy to leave the campus ground. From where she was standing in her backyard, the girl glanced over her shoulder to behold her house one last time. Absent-mindedly she speculated what her destination would be like. She imagined a grotesque but graceful construction, tall and mighty, with towers stretching up towards the sky. Then again, it might as well look like your average school-building...

Waking up from her daydreaming Shiori focussed on the paper she was still holding onto. “I hope this is obstacle-free enough,” she mumbled to herself, glancing up as she read the final lines. “Ok, here we go..!” she encouraged herself as she tore the letter in two. Shiori shut her eyes tightly as a bright flash emerged from the ripped note.

For a moment all she heard was her heartbeat throbbing in her ears, before the sound made way for that of rustling leaves. Nearby voices started to seep inside her head like the whispering of a gentle stream. She opened her eyes slowly to adjust to the light; a light that felt welcomingly warm on her cheeks and arms, reminding her of late spring. Not too far away from her she saw a number of what she assumed to be students, behind them a building overgrown with ivy. As some words caught her ear the girl’s idea got confirmed: they were upcoming students just like her. With nimble steps she approached the group, waving as some of them appeared to look her way. “Nice to meet you!” her voice chimed over the field of flowers.
Working on my post right now. Sorry for taking a bit long @_@
