Current Still alive. Sorry for the delays. Still have that new job, but I'm (gradually) getting another one. Current one is too slow.

Still a little sick. Some sort of cold. Hopefully not the flu. Getting better but it's slowed me down.

That's a good point. Classics like The Little Mermaid were basically perfect the first time around and any remakes can only be worse. Remakes of the bad Disney movies are a second chance for them.

Bio

Hi there! I've been roleplaying for years, mostly in fantasy-type RPs. I don't like giving out too much about myself, but I am a man living in New York City (that's in the Eastern time zone, if you don't already know), over 18. Recently, I have been busy working, although I graduated from college and grad school a while back.

That's fine, whatever that is.

"I'll be fine, but I can't say the same for you and Fasuto if you stay, Smith, NOW GO, both of you!!" Adykon punctuated the end of his sentence with a roar. The younger ones of the group had spirit, but possessed none of the skill, durability, or raw power needed to deal with the situation. A few kobolds was one thing, but an army was another. If not for his prior arrangements and plans to call in reinforcements and escape, Adykon himself would eventually be overwhelmed. As it was, he saw no need to risk two young lives for this cause.

"Fasuto, please listen to what he says!" Ophion urged him. "I think I know what he's planning, and there isn't going to be any serious fighting if its just him, but they won't spare you or Smith. You'll get your chance to fight more when the city is retaken, I guarantee it." He wasn't sure if Fasuto was going to acquiesce or not. "I have to get Smith out of here. If you stay with Adykon, I won't be there to protect you!"

Kali paused and turned around. "Why, sure! It would help if we had a lizard to sacrifice, but the prayers of two of us will do just as well, I suppose." She knelt down next to the other priestess and recited a rather bland and ambiguous prayer.

"Oh Arda, patroness of female kobolds, please grant that our leader may be guided by your truth, that our nests may grow large and healthy, and that, in your name, we may survive the coming days and live in the light of your presence, may it be." She stood up and continued to walk out of the temple, but paused for a second.

"Why don't you come with me, sister? I'm... going on a tour of the city. Seeing if we can salvage anything which can be used to decorate the temple."

Adykon turned his head, but did not approach Smith. With an angry look on his face, he shouted to his potential son-in-law.

"I understand that, but you are too injured to continue! Get back to Kara, let her do what she must! You've proven yourself more than enough, NOW GO!"
@WingsOfBronze

"Not now, Fasuto! I think Smith's hurt!" Ophion wasn't a healer either, but he knew that one of Adykon's daughters was.

@Eviledd1984

"Smith! Damn. Just hang on!" Adykon helped the human over to the other two. "Ophion! Get Smith to Kara! Take Fasuto there too if you must."

"But-!"

"You know where my house is! Just take Smith and go! She can heal him! I'll deal with this, don't worry about me!"

"I..." Ophion knew that time was of the essence for Smith. "Fasuto! Keep Smith steady for a few moments and I'll teleport us out of here!"

Rama took Krakas close to the wizard and he grabbed onto the hem of Ophion's robe. "Get us out of here too, please!"

Adykon turned away from the group, facing the kobolds. "You want me? Come and get me!"

Kali left her quarters to return to the city's main temple. She was surprised at how fast the city of Aredor had responded. Even more so, considering that the skirmish at the walls was not yet resolved. It hadn't been that long. Events seemed to be moving at a truly breakneck pace.

It was not long before word reached the desecrated temple that "his might" was looking for "his mercy", a female to marry. Such a thing was not too common among kobolds, but a union between their king and a single female would have political purposes as well as provide a cause for celebration right in the temple. Hopefully, they could arrange it before the city fell, and event which Kali increasingly believed would happen. She could only hope and pray that Aerta would provide extraction for her when that eventuality occurred. Two teleportation spells was no much to ask for, although it was a feat beyond the kobold's ability.
Also, my toughest job will be over tomorrow evening (although I have a second student in the evening as well), so I will finally have more time here, as long as they don't extend that assignment again.
@Wysteria

You can join, but the setting is a bit detailed. I will be happy to fill you in on it.

Also, almost all of the characters in this are either dracons, kobolds, or humans (and a fox-person). The setting is in the dracon lands, so they are main group. It's in the name. Not too hard to guess. Exactly one city has been taken over by kobolds at the moment, and it may be retaken by the dracons soon.
(The site was down for a while, wasn't it? I see some changes were made. Sorry for the delay. Would have had a post up a day ago if not for the site's downtime. I'm going to try a slightly different kind of post this time.)

Adykon blocked an incoming blow from Krakas, using only one arm to hold the sword. He grabbed her with his free arm and shoved her towards Smith, Ophion, and Fasuto. He also saw that some of the kobold soldiers had caught up with Rama, who fought back despite being outnumbered.

"Get going, all of you! I'll catch up with you later!"

"But why are you-?"

"Ophion, I'll be fine. Take Smith and go!"

Ophion approached Smith and Fasuto. "You two, with me! Stay close. Don't worry, Adykon knows what he's doing!"

It took a few minutes, but Adykon caught up with Rama and they fought off his assailants. They had some time to themselves before additional kobold soldiers showed up.

"Adykon, I-I'm not ungrateful, but you shouldn't have come without an army. Rughoi, he's- he's gone insane. As much as I supported him before, I cannot abide by his megalomania."

The dracon nodded. "Right. This usually happens. Revolutions usually come full circle, after all. Like a wheel. New leadership, same problems, and the kind of people who want power are usually the same, even with new flags and- ah, there's no time to go on about this. What do you propose we do?"

Rama thought about it for a moment. "I'll have to lead a rebellion within his rebellion. Break up the tribes, but do so in a way which saves as many of us kobolds as possible. As much as I hate to admit it, Rughoi had a good point about how we are mistreated. And no, I don't want to become the leader of some insane army like what he has, I just want to live in peace with my people. Oh, and before I forget, he has plans to attack Aredor across lake draconis. I don't know the specifics, but it probably involves the kobold population there."

"Arador across Lake Draconis. Got it! You got that?"

"Are you... talking to someone?"

Adykon simply nodded. "And now, we wait for the other soldiers to come for us."

From her vantage point back in the farmhouse, a pink-skinned dracon hovered inches above the thick mat, her legs crossed as she sat in the air. Aerta wrote down everything. Her scrying orb caught whatever her husband said, along with the words of anyone near him. She opened a line of communication with Aredor using another crystal ball, and had a third warming up.

Meanwhile...

Kali nodded silently and ran off to her shrine, as instructed. Rughoi's plan was foolish and likely to get his forces and allies massacred, followed by a crushing counterattack which would get them all killed. Still, challenging his word directly wouldn't work. She returned to her quarters, a rare thing indeed for kobolds, whose culture emphasized communal living in almost every respect. Inside one of her idols was a tiny crystal ball, barely large enough to fill the palm of a small kobold's hand.

Clutching the ball to her chest as a mother kobold would an egg, she glanced down at it. "He's planning another attack, but I didn't hear where it was. He's using spies for whatever it is."

"Aredor, from across the water. I've already sent word to them and they know to expect it. They're already recalling forces to the city limits and are keeping a watch on the waterfront. I'll contact you tomorrow, Kali. If things go south, use the gate stone. Also, Adykon should be in the palace very soon, so don't be surprised to see him."

"And if things don't go according to plan?"

"We've got backup already lined up for that. Aerta out." Kali put the crystal orb back into the cavity in her idol and closed it up.

Just to note, you don't need to run all (or most) interaction by my characters. Feel free to interact with each other independently of my characters too.
@WingsOfBronze@bloonewb@Eviledd1984@Caits

As before, if you are on discord, I strongly recommend you contact me there. I'm online there as of this moment. Much easier to communicate there.

@WingsOfBronze

It's better now. Also, has the site been acting up for you? It has for me a few times today.
