I want to write, but don't ever seem to have the drive anymore. Every time I come back to this place and pop in to see how things are going, I want to come back. But I just can't seem to stick around.

At this point I think it’s safe to say I hate college, since I’m in my graduating semester with 6 classes, but I’m also pretty anxious about whatever will happen once I’m finally done.

That last month of the semester hit me real hard, but so begins the recovery process. I just want to chill out for a bit without having to think about another academic paper...

Bio

It's been 4 years so I may as well put something in here, right?

I tend to enjoy worlds verging on the bleaker side of things, not really sure why. I like 'em gritty and somewhat grounded, with a reasonable amount of realism (fun takes priority though, ofc). I guess I just like having a sense that defeat is right around the corner, though overwhelming odds are always best saved for those wonderful moments when everyone feels like a total badass regardless of victory or defeat.

I've really wanted to find an RP set in the worlds of Red Dead, Hunt: Showdown, For Honor, the Metro series, and a few others I can't remember at the moment. Any time I look I come up empty-handed, but I'd still like to find one.

The Ruins of Old Sparta

The Ruins of Old Sparta were old and ruined, and so they were thrown away. In place of the ugly ruins lay the ubermarket of MarWal. A greater place for the acquisition of daily goods never existed. It was remarkable. You should know because I'm telling you.

The plastic bags fluttered and chirped in the morning air, waking the nearby family of empty cans from their slumber. Hungry from a night of rest, the elder cans left the nest to hunt. A herd of used napkins was moving through the area, the cans catching their scent. The hunt was on. Using their specially evolved rolling techniques the cans rolled as fast as they could. But the napkins have evolutions of their own, and so many of them took flight to avoid the toothed maws of the cans. Not all were so lucky, however, and some of the napkins were caught by the sticky saliva that the cans evolved to catch more elusive prey. The cans would have enough food to last them the day.

Nature truly is a magnificent circle, is it not? You're a square if you think otherwise. Shapes are awesome too. That's all for this episode of... The Canimal Kingdom of MarWal.
I still think Bionicle was an amazing series and my mind will never change.
I am not actually a cat wearing glasses and reading a newspaper.

I don't read the news.
I want to make it clear that this is a medieval/fantasy concept. I put that in the tags but feel my post did not adequately reflect this.

@QT
1. What do you mean by "type"? They're of the more magical variety, and I plan to have several different variations - two of which being your zombies and your skeletons. Their movement speed depends on what they are, so your zombies are really only going to reach maybe a fast walk. Skeletons, on the other hand, will be much quicker - like scary fast. Evolution is a fun idea. Unfortunately I'm really only familiar with World War Z, but from what I've seen from Resident Evil 7 it's probably closer to what I had in mind.
EDIT: Actually, I forgot Hunt: Showdown is pretty close.

2. Most survivors are indeed taking refuge in walled cities, and there are several of them. Efforts have been made for safer paths, but ultimately the safest method of travel is either by boat or in armed caravans.

3. Sadly nothing that isn't too typical. I'm still more focused on the world at the moment, trying to make it cool.

@Dumb1And1Lazy Timeframe is roughly the medieval era, but the technology level will probably be slightly increased to maybe the renaissance (or it's dark and twisted cousin that never was). It's lower fantasy, magic for humans will be scarce and of religious value. At the same time, with the way I'm going with the introduction I'm willing to grant some extra leeway to the player characters.

No definitive plot points yet, but there are organizations - both religiously driven and not - trying to ensure the safety of the surviving cities. I'm still mulling over how sandbox-y I should make this.

EDIT: Also nice avatar
