Current It's been three years since we lost Polymorpheus, a dear friend. It's felt like a lot longer, that time. I still think about Poly every so often, and how I miss them so very much. I won't forget them.

Bio

uhhhh, hi there

I am here and I sorta exist so yes this is my ‘bio’ and it will probably be rather brief and suck and be sloppy, just like me.
So, without further ado..

stuff about me

Most people call me Barti or Bart as well as a few other things since it’s just easier or meaner than the actual thing - I invite you to do so as well.

I’m a 23-year-old (bday June 20th!) Texan who enjoys thunderstorms and rain far too much, and likes anime, running, metal music, and copious amounts of DRUGS candy, among many other cool things - like DnD and MTG.

I enjoy group rps as well as 1x1s. For groups I have what I think is a decent array of interests, most of it being profusely weeb-y. I like Fantasystuffs (Modern especially), supernatural themes, pretty much all Japanese stuff - including historically accurate settings - as well as general dark/grim themes, comedic slice of life trash, academy rps, unique plots, etc. etc. As for 1x1s I pretty much do romance, but I can do non-romantic stuff too if you give me something to work with xP
The only genre I find myself not entirely comfortable with is really sci-fi stuff, but, if the plot/idea catches me enough it can hold my interest. Oh, and my writing level is high casual to low advanced.

I’m a sarcastic, snarky, bipolar-depressed, degenerate garbage can, but generally people seem to like me (I don’t know why in the hot hell you would) - but if you would also like to be my friendo lemme know.
I don’t bite.
Usually owo xd rawr

welppp...I guess that’s okay for now
thanks for reading, you potatoes

Assuming Alolan forms are allowed, would they they still be called "Alolan"? That would assume the Alolan region has already been discovered, which I'm not sure how you want to go about that.

I also am wondering, in terms of Pokemon combat, are stats more relative? I'd like to imagine they are to some degree, as it gives "weaker" or lower-tier Pokemon (in Smogon terms) more leeway. It's a bit hard to give an example, perhaps, but if you want one I will try. @UndeadSpartan

Edit: Also, in terms of Pokemon ability, is their some sort of creative influence over them, on your part as the GM or ours as the players?
As some examples, if there is creative leeway:
A Pokemon has the ability Telepathy, as well as the ability...let's say, Technician. Would they be able to have both of them? Telepathy could be used to take orders from their trainer without verbal communication, etc. while still retaining the effects of the ability Technician.
More examples:
If a Pokemon has the ability Sheer Force, they may forego most or all technique when applying their attacks, but it makes their attacks that much more jarring for the receiver.
If a Pokemon has the ability Mold Breaker they can break more than just the abilities you could in the game, for example Excadrill(with Mold Breaker) could negate the bonus damage from Sheer Force.

This examples are based off what came up off the top of my head and do not reflect my expectations for Pokemon we will have/see.

I just wanted to ask these things to clarify, if none of this exists that's fine by me, and will not effect my likelihood to participate. ^^
Will be working on a CS, if I come up with something I like then I'll likely be joining you.

Question: You said we may not have final-stage evolution Pokemon from the start. I assume it is okay to have Pokemon with only one stage, such as Dunsparce or Druddigon?
Gonna wait for @Anza before I post again 😛

Samuel waited patiently as Ms. Selas performed an incantation, which revealed the marks on the walls around them. However, before any of them could even wonder what they were for, they began to glow, and the alley around the trio changed seemingly of its own volition.

Samuel's brow furrowed as he witnessed five contraptions step out of the sudden darkness, attempting to surround the smaller group.

"Oh. Well it appears we have walked-" he didn't even have time to comment as Grain advised caution, before lashing out at one of the automatons.

"I'm going to assume negotiation is not in your wheelhouse then, Lady Blackmore..." he responded in a slightly bothered tone.

He then turned in the opposite direction of Grain, as he assumed she could handle herself with how she initiated.

Samuel thought quickly, dropping to a squat and planting his hand on the bricks below, before uttering a phrase in well-practiced manner while shifting his hand forward swiftly. "Lutuso disdo." A wave of energy would wash over the feet of those near him and saturated the ground, as he would release quite a bit of it to perform his task.

His intention was to reduce the bricks under two of the machines to a pudding-like substance, before rapidly hardening it and shifting it away from his comrades - effectively nullifying the only visible weapons their ambushers had. If it was successful, those caught would be drug to a safe distance, accompanied by the sound of bricks scraping and rasping against each other as they shifted.

There, they would be easy targets for Grain once the others were dealt with.
I am heading off to vacation for a few days, starting tomorrow - but I will still be getting my post up.
Interesting turn of events over in the other alley :P
I am terribly sorry that I made you all wait, folks. My post is up! Pls forgive ;--;

It seemed to Samuel that one of his intended companions was more of the loner type. Which, normally he wouldn't mind - he enjoys his alone time himself - but who knows if helpless civilians are the only people their unnamed culprit is capable of taking out of the picture. And he was still not entirely sure of Ms. Selas' ability to defend herself. She couldn't be completely hopeless if she was sent here, though...right?

But in any case, she had made it to their rendezvous in one piece.

Samuel tried to look his most professional as he and his companions waltzed past the officers like some kind of special investigations squad - which they really were. He made a slight bow to them as they passed. "Thank you for your cooperation, officers."

Once they were closer to the innards of the scene he began to look at the alley more closely. "I doubt they were worrying much about the mess...their victim would be coughing up blood regardless - for a few moments, anyway."

He knelt down, examining the ground more closely. "I also doubt we will find much that the previous investigators did not - unless we use more imaginative means." he continued, standing up after some time of combing the area with his eyes, as he brushed the dirt off his white canvas gloves.

"Would either of you ladies like to...work some of your magic?" he inquiried. He would do it himself just out of courtesy, but complicated manners like an investigations scene were potentially too delicate for him to release so much mana. He fretted he might disturb something that was left behind by their perpetrator. He was sure at least one of the two he was with would be able to do it themselves.
@VitaVitaAR Sorry, I’ve been having some internet issues due to the weather in my region and they’ve taken their sweet time to fix it. Definitely not forgetting about this.

After nodding at Effie's response, Samuel looked at the various faces in the room from his chair towards the edge of the group. His gaze passed over the woman named Selas, as recognized by the Ar-Rynesarte girl. He didn't know her - she didn't even seem familiar. Odd, considering he was pretty in-the-loop when it came to relevant figures in the various Mage circles. If they were going to work together, he'd have a couple questions for her, at the least.
His scan settled on who he guessed was "Lady Blackmore", one of the few who were late. She seemed to be among the youngest in the room.

"A solid decision, Madam Ar-Rynesarte." he said as he nodded, turning his attention back to the girl. "Covering multiple scenes at one time should expedite our investigation well."

His eyes swept over the youngest individuals in the room once more. "But you know what they say. Criminals always return to the scene of the crime." He interlaced the fingers of his clasped hands. "So be cautious - regardless of whether the statement is true or not."

He partially blocked out the shenanigans of Mr. Leonardo, considering he didn't seem to be taking the situation all too seriously. Not to mention, he isn't much of a fisherman.
