Current And so when you have one player who plays both of the characters, that means they are dictating and creating their own character growth rather than it being dependent on someone else's writing.

I think the failing of most Fate RPs is that they have each person play both a master and servant. The problem with this is that the bonds between the servant and their master are the deepest growth.

I'm sorry to people who had put effort into the RP I was starting a few months ago. My father passed away unexpectedly on the 1st of July, at the age of 56. So I haven't really been on here much.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm having the most fun with FFXV that I've had with a game since Metal Gear 5.

The OOC is up here so give it a read and see if you are interested.

"The sky wasn't always covered in glass. I remember a time, so long ago now, that the world outside, was just the world. We were a part of it, and it, a part of us. Once, it was alive, and beautiful. Colors the likes of which you have never seen, so natural and calm... peaceful. But humanity was its own undoing. In their last attempt to defeat their greatest enemy, they unleashed terrible weapons, that scarred the world beyond recognition. Weapons, meant for their enemies... were turned upon them with such ease. And humanity, vanished.

Years later, they crawled from the dirt, broken, and defeated... but the one thing they held onto, deep inside their souls, was that anger, that hatred. Pure spite for those they had failed to defeat. Those... who had never wanted war to begin with. And so with anger and hatred in their hearts, they rose up again, rebuilt what they had once lost, even though it is merely a shell of what it once was. They covered the sky in glass, sealing themselves off from the poison outside that had driven them underground. Their weapons had made this world uninhabitable for them, unless they were to adapt. And adapt they did..."

"But... what happened to their enemies father? The ones they hated so much, you said they failed to defeat them."

"Indeed, they failed. After all... we are still here. But, why they hate us so, why they waged war against us to begin wtih... that, I do not remember. My body has grown old, and I had to give up many memories to keep this body moving. There's just not enough energy left in me to hold onto all those memories these days. I stored them away, and perhaps someday I'll pass them on. But... for now...

"Hey, what is that? Up in the sky? Beyond the glass, it looks like the stars are falling."

"Child, stars cannot fall... do not be ridiculous... it is probably just... well, I... don't know what that is. You are right, that is what it looks like isn't it? The people seem to be noticing it as well. It's falling right towards the city... come inside now, I do not think it's safe to be standing outside. I believe... something is about to happen. I don't know what... but something, is coming..."

Mood

You awaken, under a sky of glass, the world around you so unfamiliar and alien in every way. You can't remember anything, who you are, where you are, or why you are here. The night above thunders, and it rains down as you step from the pod you find yourself in. At every turn, lights buzz and flicker, everything is so alive, and yet, so very... quiet, and... alone.

You are alone, in what feels like an empty world meant for hundreds, thousands. Maybe more. So if you are alone, why do you feel so in danger? So unwelcome, and why do you feel like something is missing? Something more than memory, something... someone. You shouldn't be alone. Someone else is alone too, you need to find them. No memories come back to you, but that feeling is there. Find them, and you might find answers. If not, maybe... you can at least find safety.

It hurts to think, to try and remember. So you decide not to, and to put one foot in front of the other instead. But where will you go...
GENESIS EX MACHINA

Please keep in mind this RP is apply-only and will only have a very small group of players maxing out at 4 people including myself.

This is a RP set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has crawled out of the dirt to rebuild in a desolate wasteland, torn apart by an unknown war of the past. The setting is a city, covered in a massive dome that protects it from the outside radiation, allowing its inhabitants to live relatively normal lives. But you will soon come to realize that what you consider normal, and what these people consider normal, may not be entirely the same.

Your character awakens inside a strange pod that fell from the sky, shattering through the glass sky above. They find themselves alone, in a world they do not recognize or understand. The only things they know, are the absolute basics. What a weapon is, how to use it, how to walk, how to talk... but they don't know their own name, their own purpose, their own origin. The only thing they know for sure, is that they are in danger here, and that they need to find the others... whoever the others are. A gut feeling, nothing more, that they shouldn't be alone. And so they set off to regroup, and hopefully get some answers.

The Rules of the RP:

Don't be a dick, or an elitist. If you have a problem, bring it up and talk about it. As for being an elitist, what I mean is, this RP isn't set in the advanced section for massively sized posts. It is here for the expectations of each player's competence with the English Language, and ability to drive their character forward. It is here for people looking for a deeper story that they can write in, and learn about, discovering more about the world they find their characters in. There are not post size requirements or anything like that. However, you should know better than to post one liners, or a single small paragraph. This is low advanced, high casual, somewhere in-between. But let's treat it with the respect of an advanced RP.

I will be acting as both DM, and a player myself. This means that I will both be writing for my own character, as well as the going ons of the world, creating it around your characters and giving you, hopefully, what you need to have them exist within it. My say is final on things, as far as what is allowed, what can or cannot be done, and what you are, or are not allowed to do. I won't be putting too many restrictions out, but if you meet a friendly NPC and your first act is to try and attack them, your character will be stopped, and there is no getting past that. That's just an example... try not to be 'that person'.

If a long period of time goes by and you haven't posted, or have had to be poked about waiting on a post from you multiple times, you may simple be dropped from the RP. I'm not going to set a time limit or anything that you have to post, but if days and days go by, and there's no word from you... it's a problem. As I have said before, too many Roleplays end before they even get started because people are too shy to post, feel like they're waiting on someone else, or simply get busy doing other things and then a week goes by and nothing but starting posts have been made. I'm not expecting multiple posts a day, or even a post every single day without fail. Just don't disappear. If you need some time, let people know.

Need to Know Information:

Your character has no background, at least, not that you will be creating from the start. You as a player, don't know anything about this world. It's like starting up a game for the first time. I, as the creator of the RP, know the origins of your characters in general, and it will be revealed to you down the line. (Not very early on) When it is, you will be given the opportunity to develop your own version of who your character is, and was before all this happened. Until then, assume nothing.

You won't even know what abilities your character has. You may choose to be a scout, but that doesn't mean they have binoculars or any sort of scanning equipment... at least not that you know or from the start.

Here is what you CAN decide for your character, here and now: Their appearance, their gender, their weapon of choice, their class, their personality, their number. More information on all of this in the character sheet section.

You and your character will be very similar. You will both not know much about anything within this world. Who they are, where they are from, why they are here, none of this is known to you, or your character. You will find out in time. That being said, here are some disclaimers:

I will not be dictating things like names. Your character doesn't remember their name but they surely have one, and you will get to decide that later. I'm not going to suddenly do a big backstory reveal of where they are from and go "Your character is Tom Billy Hill, a farmer from a few cities over". You will be able to decide your own character's backstory... within the context of the overall backstory that is set in place for them by the story. For example, your character may be a soldier from [Insert City Here], but you can still decide why they were in the military, what they did in their off time, the role they played within that military, so on and so forth. I'm not trying to dictate your character, rather, just limit you on what you can decide about them right away.

Your character will 'unlock' abilities as the RP goes on. You won't know what these abilities are, and will not get to decide what exactly they are. You will however, decide on a 'class' for your character as well as a weapon. For example, you may choose Recon/Scout for your character, and a sniper rifle. This will give me a base idea of what kind of character you are aiming for. With this, it's likely your character will go on to unlock related abilities, such as long-range night vision, listening devices, radar, drones, and even the ability to see through walls to some degree. Meanwhile someone who plays a 'Reaper' and uses 'dual scythes' would have incredibly different abilities popping up.

That being said, what you want to play is ENTIRELY up to you with little to no limits. Anything from the typical soldiers like marksmen with sniper rifles, gunmen with assault/battle rifles, demolitionist with machine guns, and so on, to more crazy and fantastical things like a slayer with a greatsword, a reaper with dual chain scythes, a hunter with a bow... all you need to give me, is the name of your 'class', and the weapon they use. You will get to find out what abilities they have as the RP goes on and they recover more memories about what they are capable of.

You should also know that your character is absurdly strong. A greatsword that is pure metal and machinery, and is larger than their whole body, will weigh nothing in their hands.

Character Sheet

I'll be setting up an OOC soonish.

Mood

The Time? Who knows... Place? Same problem... you awake alone in the rain, stepping from a pod that feels both familiar, and so very alien to you. It is embedded in the ground, and as you look up to see where it could have come from, where you could have come from, you see a sky covered in glass, a dome covering the world around you so high in the sky that you can't imagine touching it. And around you, buildings that tower into the sky. And yet you are alone, with nothing but the sound of rain, and the flickering neon lights that reflect off the black asphalt beneath you. There isn't a soul in sight. So why do you feel so, in danger?

Every nerve of your body tells you that you shouldn't be here, that you need to be careful, that you don't belong... what does it mean? The only feeling that comes to your mind, is 'Enemy Territory'. But who is your enemy? Who is your faction? Who are you?

Your only hint, a number on the pod you stepped out of. And something tells you that it's not the only one, a gut feeling perhaps, that you aren't as alone as you feel. You miss something, someone... you just need to find them, perhaps more like you, and you can find out where you are, who you are, and what is going on in this unfamiliar place.

------------------------------------------------

This is a RP I've tried to run in the past, but due to time issues, it never really got going anywhere. So that being said I'm going to be keeping some restrictions on this version of the RP, and try and make it so everyone that is interested knows exactly what to expect from it, at least in general.

Basics:

You play some form of unknown soldier. They have extreme amnesia. They know basic things. They know what a gun is, what an enemy is, what a door, a window, a car, all these things are. But they don't know who they are, who their enemies are, or why they are in this place they have no knowledge of. Even with their amnesia, things feel familiar to them, but this place they are in, this massive city, feels so unwelcoming, and so alien to them in its nature. There is no doubt even despite their memory issues, that they have never been here before, and that it is a dangerous place.

Nothing should be assumed in this RP. You do not know your own character's history, you don't know where they came from, who they are, if they had a family. You don't know if they are soldiers from another city, mutants from the wastelands, or genetic experiments who have escaped to the surface from an underground facility.

All of this and more will be explained in time, through the RP itself.

Here is what you need to know about your character:

You will decide their 'class', their weapon, their personality, their name, and their appearance.

They are very advanced, wearing high-tech armor, wielding advanced weaponry, and they are unnaturally powerful. In what ways they are powerful, is entirely up to you within the limits of the RP. As in, are they physically strong? Fast? Incredibly aware of their surroundings? That being said, strength goes up to being able to single handedly flip a car over for example.

This brings us to the RPG elements of the RP.

The RPG:

As the title says, this will be a 'light' RPG. This means you don't have hp points or stat points. You don't have an inventory or anything like that. For the most part, it just comes down to you will be picking a core idea for the 'class' of your character. Imagine, Sniper, Assassin, Brawler, Tank, Duelist... In that order, they would likely use a Sniper Rifle, SMGs, Power-Gauntlets, Shield (Physical and Energy), Sword. But, you can also decide the weapon they will be using. And I'm not going to give you a list of classes, I just want you to decide a 'class name' that describes your idea for your character.

Throughout the RP your character will unlock abilities they can use whenever you wish, unless there are restrictions for the specific ability. For example, perhaps one character gets access to night vision, while another has boosters on their legs that give them a burst of movement allowing them to leap incredible distances. Night vision would not have a restriction on use, but the boosters would be something I simple expect you to understand, should not just be used over and over and over again. I will not restrict the usage of abilities as a 'rule', but rather, I expect you to write the usage of abilities 'realistically', so to speak. But you won't be gaining 'Fireball which you can cast once every turn' or anything like that.

You can also design the general idea of your character's 'class' and I will create the abilities from that, however they will be starting out with next to nothing but the weapon at their side.

The RP:

This is in the advanced section, this means I expect grammatical competence, a good grasp of the English Language, and the capability of regularly posting without making incredibly small posts.

I'm not big on post length requirements, especially in a RP where you don't know what your character is capable of until you learn IC, so you are limited to essentially responding to what is happening around your character. So if you're one of those people who goes "Ugh, this was supposed to be advanced but people are only posting 2-3 paragraphs, this should be in Casual." then pardon my French but fuck off and go find another RP.

This is in Advanced because I expect everyone to be on an advanced level of writing skill. And despite what some people will tell you, that doesn't mean you have to be capable of pulling an essay out of your ass every time you go to post.

The Rules:

People tend to do these things a lot around here I find, so just putting this out there right away so we can try and avoid this.

If you join the RP, and then say it's "Not what you thought it would be" as far as your control over your character's backstory, abilities, things like that... I have made it abundantly clear that you will not know these things, and will learn them as time goes on. Please read, and understand everything there is here before you decide you are interested.

I expect people to post regularly, and not have to be constantly poked to post. If just 1 post into the RP, we're poking you asking if you're still with us, and you say "Yeah just been super busy with work". Maybe you shouldn't have signed up for a RP... I'm not saying you have to post multiple times a day, but too many RPs die because a week goes by and people are still waiting to clear the first round of posts. Be active please.

We will be going for a group of 3-4 players, no more.

Feel free to post any questions you have here.[/center]
That's the SW Slave Wraith, you rolled a WR Full Armor Slave Wraith for me, which is an upgraded Slave Wraith, and includes more weapons

Those being:

Vulcan Gun
Multi-Launcher
Missile Launcher
75mm Gatling Gun
Short Shield (w/Double Machine Gun)
BLASH XBR-M-79E Beam Rifle
Leg Missile Pod
FADEGEL RGM-M-Sh-007 Shield
Gotta say, I like the big gatling gun on the Slave Wraith.
I didn't so much mean a reroll, more like, if I don't like the roll, can I then pick one of the 'grunt units' listed in place of what you roll?

Either way I'd be interested in this, and at least seeing what I get for rolls.
So are we allowed to ask you to roll for a Mobile Suit, and if we don't like what we get from that, then pick one of the 'standard picks' so to speak?

I'm also curious about the general theme of the Beloth Empire, since more often than not in fiction anything with the word 'Empire' in it tends to take the role as either the villains, or the ones willing to go to extremes to do what needs to be done. So I'm just curious if this is the sort of Empire where you have the rank and file charging into the enemy line screaming "FOR THE EMPEROR" or if it's a pretty standard 'country' so to speak.

Because right now I'm imagining a Militaristic Dictatorship.
