Current Meanwhile, we don't *really* know just how long tortoise actually live, because everyone who's tried to study it died before the tortoise did

I need some new ideas, consider this a bump anyway.
Posted! The two who've been directly challenged, I'm going to come up with a deck for vampire Serenity and Renfield Tristan respectively, you'll have an opportunity to duel them properly, the rest of you will have a little more freedom of actions; you're still taking turns, like Wheeler in the opening post, but you're also free to move around and the effects of some cards will have broader effects, for example, multiple creatures can be affected by a single trap or spell, and more powerful monsters can sweep away multiple enemies; there's a swarm surrounding you, feel free to "dynasty warriors" these things as they try to gang up on you

Change of plans:

I'm rapidly running out of steam, and frankly the intro was the best I've managed for this whole thing.

I'm sorry, but I'm calling it here. Thank you for your time.
@King Cosmos Claire's internal response made me laugh; "What is this shit-show!?"

“What would happen if we didn’t join?”

After hearing the answer he took the magnifying glass and see the ‘Ectoplasm’. After a few moments, he used the glass to look at his deck.

A feint green glow emanated from their decks, as well!

green trenchcoat was quick to blurt out, with a sour expression, "Maybe you'd be doin' ya-self and ya loved ones a favor, and maybe not!"

Mr. Moto sighed, and followed up, "We won't force this on you; it's a heavy responsibility, more than we have any right to demand of you. However, we barely have the resources to protect ourselves; if you aren't counted among our allies, you'll be in the same position as anyone else who knows the truth, except you'd be on your own..."

Just then, an inhuman shriek rang out in the trees, and some giggling could be heard as a shadow in the fog passed over the treetops.

The man with the ponytail cried out, "Holy shit; Wheeler, is that her? How did she find us!?"

Glowing red eyes began appearing all around them, their forms obscurred in the fog, and staying back in the trees. The young lady's voice began giggling again, and gave a chanting taunt, "We're gonna get you, we're gonna get you! Hahahahaaaa!"

A new voice called out, "Ooh, please, let me!" One pair of red eyes stepped forward, a green glow following with it! A man with a duel board was soon revieled, with messy, short dark hair and a simple brown jacket! He couldn't stop giggling, and was hunched over and hopping this way and that, occasionally twitching, like an animal! Close observation might reveal puncture wounds on his neck. "Hehehe, what, did my inviation get lost in the mail!? Let's crash this f$#%ing party!!"

Trenchcoat was speechless, and the brunette cried out, "Oh god, Tristan!"

The presumed "Tristan" shouted, "Wheeler! We're going to kill you all, but the duelists' code forbids you from declining a challenge, right? So, the mistress and I will duel, oh, them-" He pointed to @Double and @Digmata, "Yes! We want you, give me your precious lives!"

ponytail and Valentine opened a pair of duffle bags, and began dossing duel boards to the newbies, "Quick! put these on, and insert your decks!"

The current/senior Duelists all drew a hand of cards, and Mr. Moto shouted, "Duel, or we're all going to die!"
Ok, not a lot of engagement this past week... I'm going to write a post that prompts a little more activity, I hope to have it up by this next weekend.
Posted! and it's actually a half decent one, this time! :P XD
A sudden, but heavy fog set on the cemetery as the group made their way to a cluster of trees. Feint lights could also be seen, here and there, flitting about aimlessly, and even some distant whispers...

Once in the trees, the wandering lights ceased. The night was eerily silent; no rustling leaves, no wind, animals or birds. Eerier, still? Even the sounds of the city were gone, as though they were suddenly in the middle of nowhere!

Eventually, the endless foggy woods opened up into a clearing- even the fog stayed at bay, swirling, billowing at the edges. The clearing was brightly lit under the light of the moon.

And in the center of the clearing stood the judges from the tournament, plus 1 more they didn't recognize (a balding man with a pony tail and dice earrings!?) and the owner of the shop where the tournament was held!

They all turned, some looked disappointed (presumably with the turn out), but the one in the green trench coat just looked annoyed.

The Shop owner was the one to speak up, "Aile, I'm glad to see you made it safely. I was beginning to worry; after the last incident, I was beginning to worry about any of us travelling alone...

"I'm sorry to see not everyone invited made it, but for those of you who came, you have my deepest respect.

"I apologize for what seems like pointless theatrics, but as devoted Duel Monsters players, I'm sure you appreciate the importance of rules and instructions..." He spread his arms wide, gesturing to the clearing around them. "This place seems to be the safest, perhaps the only safe place, to gather when the moon is full. Perhaps some among you sense it; that rising intensity as you walk alone, like you're being followed, yet when you turn around, there is nothing? Strange noises in the night, that you try to assure yourself is merely the wind? Your eyes 'playing tricks on you'?"

The blonde woman stepped forward, "If any of this sounds familiar, you should trust your instincts, because it's true! We don't know how, exactly, but for a long time, now, well..." She trailed off, suddenly hesitating, as if she realized what she was about to say sounded insane.

That was when trench coat spoke up, in his thick, Brooklyn accent, "Ya parents lied- Monsters are real, they hide in the shadows, and hunt us by night. And the only weapons we have to fight back against the perils of the night-" He thrust a hand in the air, holding a hand of Duel Monsters cards, "-are these."

The brunette woman spoke up, this time, "Please, we understand how this might sound, but if you just trust us, we can prove it to you! All of you were chosen, because you have a unique talent, a gift that makes you like us! With our help, you can learn to use it, and help us fight the monsters, and protect the people we care about!" She held out what looked like bulky Duel Monsters cards, for them to take, but they had lenses in the center, like a viewer or magnifying glass!

The shop owner resumed control of the introduction, some kind of device on his wrist opening up as he spoke. "My name is Yugi Moto, and I am a Duelist. We are part of the 'Duelist's Society', and you are here because we are inviting you to join our fight! If you accept, you have only to look through the viewer..." He raised is arm, the machine now level with his chest, some kind of glass bauble positioned in such a way that if it were lit, it would be like shining a flashlight under his chin.

((those who look through the viewer will see the pail green glow, not just emitting from the duel disks all these people are wearing, but swirling here and there around the clearing!))
I'm hitting a wall on what to write, so please just assume Luna is following along quietly, since I don't think I'll be able to write something decent by monday.

no worries
In the meantime, I'm making my next post tomorrow

Ok, I posted. It's not great, but my thought was allowing a brief period for character interactions, on their way to the final meeting spot. I also could have done more, but that would have required assuming actions and not allowing the rp.

If y'all would rather skip that and get to the meeting, I can edit and make a somewhat meatier post, just like this post to cast your vote.

Otherwise, just post normally, until I post again next Monday. No post limit in the meantime.
