Lalei watched as the group saw the gruesome, gory scene unfold. Bewilderment and shock and grief struck them hard...except the cocky one. She raised an eyebrow, why he was here as a chosen one, she did not know. She wished she had control over who was chosen, but they were deemed the chosen ones since the writing of both of the original prophecies. She had no power over it. All she could do is guide them in the right direction, and hope they learn to work together.

After she gave them all a minute or two to process, questions started pouring in. The top two being why she didn’t warn others, and why them. She looked at the one called Kassandra and then to the other faces.

“I know this is a lot to process, chosen ones. I know there are many unanswered questions and I will do my best to answer them. As to why I didn’t raise the alarm for others, it wouldn’t have done any good. It would have resulted in even more death than has already occurred. Vaeros is the most powerful adversary this world has ever and will ever see. No army can stand in his way.

I know this is daunting, and you are scared, and you should be. Like I said, it is possible that not all of you will make it through this. You have the worlds tools at your disposal. I will be visiting the major cities in visions, much like I did you. I will be informing them of the situation, though they likely know already. I will request that they make resources and manpower and firepower available at your request. I don’t expect any resistance on anyone’s part. You will have allies, and men and woman willing to lay their lives on the line to help you, to a point. That point is when Vaeros finds out about you. You will be hunted, once Vaeros learns of your existence and identities. When that happens, there are no guarantees. When Vaeros places that bounty on your heads, people may be fearful of helping you. It is up to you to inspire confidence, and then they will rise up and fight with you.

To answer the question as to why you specifically were called, I can honestly say I have no idea. Your fates were chosen and sealed at the moment of the writing of the prophecy. I can tell you that there are qualities in each of you that are called to this dangerous task. You are chosen for a reason. You must learn to work together, as a team. You all must become leaders. For only then will you stand a chance against Vaeros.”

She paused, letting the group process all this information.

“Vaeros is currently still in Polis, but I need you first to go to Azgada, the home of the elves. There you will find a warm welcome, resources, and combat training. You can learn to function and fight as a team, instead of bickering and flailing. I will reach out to each race, and tell them to send some of their best fighters to work with you there.

I must say, brave ones. You have already made me proud just by showing up. Not everyone would rise to this call, but you have each shown true courage. Together, you can win this fight. Together, you will beat Vaeros and save Valeroma.”

As she finished speaking, the wind picked up again. When it died, Lalei was gone as quick as she appeared, leaving the chosen ones alone to figure out where to go once more.
It's not a bad idea? But I'm wondering how we prove the dice rolls are legit while incorporating them into the post.

I thought about that too, and idk how to ensure it so I’m leaning towards no. On Iwaku (other to site I use), they have it listed under the post and how many attempts. Would copying and linking it work? Does it show how much one rolls?
That’s just a thought, it’s not a thing yet, but for something high combat oriented, this could be fun. But, I’m not completely sold on it. I’d never ever done something like that before
So I’ve been thinking about how combat is going to work. What do y’all think of doing a very very light DND feel, and we roll a die to see how effective our last post was. For example:

Vivian dodges the thrown knife and throws one of her own, striking the foe in the arm.

I’d then roll a 20 faced die, and if it’s a 20, it happened exactly like that. If it’s like a 15, she mostly got out of the way, maybe a scratch but the damage from the knife she threw maybe hit him, but not anywhere that’ll slow him down. At a 5, she’d get hit by the knife somewhere hindering, and be pretty hurt, and her knife wouldn’t hit strong, barely a graze. At 1, the knife would hit somewhere vital, and she’d miss the foe entirely.

Not exactly like this, but I’m brainstorming, this way not everyone comes out on top all the time, and it would mix up our plans. We could do a 10 face die, or more. I’m up for discussion. Only thing is, idk how to do that on this site, on my other one the option is attached to each post.

Thoughts?
I’m in a bit of a depression rut right now. Struggling to write, so may be a couple days guys. I’m sorry
I absolutely loathe people like Zav IRL, but this will be interesting 😂
Would y’all like me to go ahead and post with Lalei again?
Hey guys, just a check in, how is everyone?
Vivian is up

Vivian turned as a massively tall human entered the grove. As his deep voice penetrated the silence, she turned to greet him. “Greetings Calit, I’ve never met anyone as tall as you. I’m sure we are going to get along nicely.” She didn’t know why, but she felt like she had to get these people to get along, but she always felt like she had more responsibility than others.

When Zav responded, saying he was the best warrior here and would let them die to save his own pathetic life, she visibly rolled her eyes. She couldn’t stand people like him. She would love to humble him one day, maybe if they decided to train together, she could put him in his place. “If you’re such a great warrior, maybe you don’t need the other five of us, so get going, huh?” She said, bitter sarcasm dripping off her tongue. “Watch your mouth, boy. Before someone puts you in your place.” She added. She listened to Odran’s comment and “hmph”ed.

She turned to Odran. “I’ve never met a dwarf so tall, Odran. I’d say nice to meet you, but I wish it were under better circumstances. I’ve met a few from your clan in my years, strong ones they are. I’m proud to know you.” She said, greeting him politely.

Turning to the other elven woman who had introduced herself as Rosarina. “Again, it’s not ideal circumstances, or I’d say nice to meet you. I’ve been to Easthollow quite a bit in my years growing up, wonderful people live there. I am impressed you made it here in time as well.”

When Zav spoke again, she rolled her eyes. Does he never tire of bragging? She thought. She barely knew him, and already she disliked him.

Before she could reply there was a strong gust of wind, she jumped out of the way as a branch fell from the tree she was standing under. When the wind settled, the same spirit from her dream was shimmering before her. Vivian was surprised how young she looked, she couldn’t be more than a decade old, barely old enough to live. “Finally.” She murmurs to herself. She was ready to get started, she’d heard horror stories from Vaeros’ first appearance, she was not eager to see what would come of his second.

As Lalei showed them all of the carnage wreaked by Vaeros, Vivian muffled a cry. So many dead, so many hurt. And then she saw Polis. A town she’d not visited often, due to the violence of humans, but she’d been there before. It was in ruins, on fire, screaming, blood. Lalei was right, the rest of the humans wouldn’t take long once they knew their core had fallen.

As Calit and Kassandra answered, she also chimed in. “Why us? You could have chosen anyone in the world, why not choose more qualified individuals?” Her voice quivered as a tear slipped down her cheek. Death was not a common occurence at home, and now… this was more death five hundredfold that she’d ever seen. She would end Vaeros if she had the chance.
