@Ceta de CloyesWorks better for Karen anyhow, since she's half-Hispanic.
Cassandra Edelfelt

Cassandra was generally rather picky about her tea, but she had to admit that Caster's was quite delicious. Sitting across from her little servant, she politely raised a cup to her lips. The table had been arrayed with a variety of delicious-looking pastries, as she had come to expect by this point. Really, despite them being stuck in these dusty catacombs, the adorably doll-like Heroic Spirit had made it quite tolerable. In fact, she daresay that Caster had grown on her in this past week...and it was quite rare for her to feel genuine affection towards anyone.

"Everything's perfect as always, Caster," Cassandra complimented her servant with a glowing smile. "Your tea really is one of a kind."

And the macarons were quite delicious on top of that!

"You'll get used to it," Cass reassured the smaller girl. "The Yanks and their weird names just take some time to adapt to."

And out of all of the Masters competing for the grail right now, time was most on her side. She had a secure base through which she could wait out this war if necessary. If they happened to find themselves at a disadvantage out on open field of battle, this place would act as their fortress...and woe to any foolish enough to enter while her Caster was present.

Not that she intended to simply watch on the sidelines if she could help it.

"Once teatime is over, I think I know who we should pay a visit to first," Cassandra noted, having just swallowed a macaron. "My familiars have learned that there is someone a bit...different...participating in this war, and I would like to see him for myself."

@Rin
@pyromanThey're really not that small. Not every post needs to be a book report. Longer does not necessarily mean higher quality, and so long as it conveys clearly what you're trying to get across, then you've done well. ^^
@Afro SamuraiThis was a good idea, and gave everyone a chance to basically start establishing their characters! Looking forward to your next post. :3
Everyone's posts have been great so far. ^^
I have mastered GIMP recoloring! I updated my superheroine picture. She is now an illustrious purple, which I feel better represents the Arcane. :3
@DragonofTheWestNo, this is more of an introductory sort of thing. I'm having us start slow. I don't predict there will be any major team ups or anything for a bit. I had planned for a Justice League to be formed at the end of 2020 in-game, though.
@Simple Unicycle@astralGeminiYour characters can beat up some guys if you want, since you're (mostly) non-powered.

The Question in particular is welcome to beat up some members of the two gangs I mentioned, who are having a shootout near my character's house! Though, they do have guns, remember.
If you want to have your characters watch the fight in their civilian guise as a means to introduce them, feel free. ^^

The Wedge; Hub City

"Hey, he's actually not getting his ass beat!" Karen noted with no small hint of amazement, noting that Hayes was landing a fair deal more than Ives. She had honestly half-expected this to be an almost painful slaughter, given how one-sided the predictions had all been. While she was hardly a boxing enthusiast, she knew the reputation of Christopher Ives. When she learned who his opponent was, she had instantly felt compelled to root for the underdog.

And he was an underdog, to be certain. It was hard to believe they were in the same weight class.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Karen's eyes widened when Hayes let his guard down. "You're attacking?!"

She couldn't help but feel that was a mistake, at least this soon into the fight. She had thought that his strategy had been to stay ahead on the score cards and frustrate Ives until he became tired and sloppy. That would be smart, and was probably his best chance at actually winning. Now, he seemed to be relying entirely on his speed to evade Ives' punches, and that-

"OW!" Karen winced when a hard body hook from Ives rocked his opponent. She winced harder still when he performed a what wasn't a half-bad imitation of a shoryuken on Hayes, knocking him flat on his ass. "Owwww...and he was doing so well..."

Exhaling, she chewed her lip while the smaller fighter slowly lurched to his feet. Her brief spark of hope when it came to his chances of winning had thoroughly faded after that display.

The gunshots were getting closer to her house now, but that wasn't anything too strange. Hopefully they wouldn't be firing in her direction.

Hayes managed to recover somewhat after his down, but he was never able to regain the momentum he had earlier. A few good hits on Ives didn't compensate for all the punishing blows the diminutive fighter had taken, and it was pretty obvious who won the first round.

Sighing, Karen offered a light shrug to her television. "I guess it was too good to be true."
