Souta had followed unquestioningly as everyone else was ferried out to the grass and sent off to socialize or whatever it was that these people were doing. Souta wasn't exactly excited to sit around and listen to jabbering about nothing, but he really didn't have much of a choice. He found a nice shaded patch of grass, and sat down with crossed legs.

He watched as fraternization began, and wondered to himself if he should get up and go find someone to talk to. Nah, he would just get frustrated as he did with everything that he didn't have full control over.

He noticed a certain girl wandering around and being especially loud. This was the girl with the guns for arms right? What was her name again? Well whatever, it wasn't important what her name was, she seemed to be getting along with the hefty boy with the armored skin, whose demonstration had been... well, it had blown Souta's out of the water. He was in a hero school, so one-upmanship was to be expected. He just hoped that the instructors were impressed enough to not force him to go through any extra work to catch up, he might quit on the spot should that happen. Raised voices snapped him out of his sleepy daydreaming, as he noticed that the gun-armed girl had moved on to talking to another girl. This one... Souta didn't even remember her quirk demo anymore. It wasn't like it had been that long, he was just tired and didn't have the motivation to remember the abilities of someone who he didn't much give a damn about.

What did interest him, was the fact that she was giving the gun-girl a rough time of it. He lacked the context, but the blond foreigner had seemed cordial, so the girl whose everything Souta had forgotten was just a bitch. Souta knew that he really shouldn't engage, that he should just ignore it and maybe get a quick nap in, but he just couldn't help himself. He stood, dusted himself off, and meandered over to where the girl was relaxing, performing some tricks with a blade of grass between his fingers as he did.

"I didn't realize I was in the presence of a queen, want me to bow and kiss your pinky ring?" he said venomously. Why was he doing this? He really didn't need to get involved. Souta's complete failure to convince himself to not escalate the situation continued, as he again opened his mouth to fuck with the girl. "It's okay, if my quirk was as forgettable as yours, I'd have to be an uppity prick about it too." Souta turned up his chin. "Or were you like that before your quirk developed?"

It's called destiny, and I'm ready to kick its' ass.

Fuck you destiny's a beautiful woman
Annie Jarvis stood on the balcony of her new apartment, looking out over her new home. Well, it was certainly a place. Annie didn't have much of a plan once she got here. Where was she going to go from here? Who was she going to talk to?

Questions for later, right now she needed a smoke. With a swift potion, she put a cigarette in her mouth and lit it. She blew the smoke over the town as the wind picked up slightly, casting it away. It was almost like a god was telling her not to smoke. Fuck him, fuck her, whatever they are, fuck them.

She pulled out her phone and sent a text to her mom, letting her know she was moving in safely, and hadn't gotten killed in a drug rave as was her mom's consistent worry when it came to her. She also immediately entered the wifi password for her new router, which she had set up before she had even put the sheets on her bed. The news was much the same; world in chaos as superpowers continued to emerge. Annie covered her eyes and wondered when this was gonna stop.

She needed a drink, unpacking could wait. She grabbed all of her stuff, phone, keys, wallet, and left the way she came, heading out to find a goddamn bar.
