Gonna be out for the day, people, so I won't really be RPing much.

Bio

Hey, there. Myst here, as you've probably guessed. Can't exactly write in other people's bios, can you? But, you're probably reading this for a reason, so I'll get to it.

I prefer high-Casual and Advanced games, in a medieval, fantasy or sci-fi setting, because that's the sort of nerd I am.

I'm a thinker - I've thought a lot on certain things, and am firm in my beliefs. So you could ask me what I thought about a good few things and I could give a well-reasoned answer. Or a less reasoned answer based on my morals.

TheCharactersOfMyst - This is my storage for past and present characters, and where I might occasionally go for nostalgia and/or recycling a character I've used before.

Magdar glares after the fleeing kobold, but there isn't any point in trying to pursue it when it takes off into the air. Time goes on without trouble, and you move forward, further into the centre of town. You've almost made it. The keep looms above you, and you can see movement atop of the walls as guards shoot arrows and drop stones. There is just one last corner... and Caw, being the quickest, is the first to turn it...

What he sees stops him in his tracks.

Between your group and the gates to the keep, a larger group has formed. Nine kobolds, and four other figures - three of medium height, and one of shorter stature. Four of the kobolds are winged, and one of them is gesticulating wildly, speaking frantically in Yipyak. The tallest of the group says something in the same draconic tongue, and three of the Urds take flight, headed in the same direction - away from the keep, to the outskirts of the city. Each carries a similar bag, full to bursting. The (presumed) man then barks an order, and the remaining kobolds begin to spread out, eyes gleaming in the dark, the remaining winged kobold flying up to a small ledge and perching there like a miniature gargoyle. For a moment, Caw is sure that the closest one has seen him, but then its eyes glide away to the next shadow.

There are five kobolds, a winged kobold (slightly injured), and four unknown foes. They don't know you're there, but they're on their guard. You do not need to fight them, but you do need to get past them. @Eleven@Vertigo@Tangletail, please roll initiative.

Scott

As he realised her current situation, Scott immediately averted his eyes, his cheeks flushing red, looking anywhere but at the woman.

“Um- I- sorry, I didn’t mean to-” he stammered, halfway to covering his eyes with his hand. “I... I’m sorry, miss. I was just... I wanted to ask if you knew where I am? Because, well, I don’t, beyond that it’s not where I come from, and I know that it’s somewhere and I’d really appreciate being able to put names to places and I’m sorry for looking at you while you were feeding your kid and I’m just…” He took a deep breath, squeezing one hand until he felt the nail digging in. “I’m just… still processing a lot of things. I… don’t quite know how things work around here, but I’m not entirely sure this place is actually real or if I’m just… imagining this while I… bleed out in my real life.”

He paused, before rolling his shoulders back and looking directly at the wall. “Sorry. I get anxious really easily. I, ah, wanted to thank you, I guess. I know, um, Miiba called him Lear? He didn’t really consult with anyone else or anything before letting me come into your home but this is… probably the safest I’ve felt since I remembered. And I wanted to thank you for, well, taking care of Miiba. Because she’s actually very young, and I don’t mean the fact that she was only born recently in this world. She’s really only a child in… in my world, too. And I’m not that much better. But you’ve probably helped her a lot, and by letting me in, I think you might have helped me a lot, too, so… thanks.”

He felt his cheeks growing warm again. He looked down at the floor, at his still bare feet. He really should do something about getting shoes.
@GreivousKhan It is currently early autumn in the Year 1489 DR, two years after the end of the Second Sundering and the Spellplague. Dragonborn have appeared in the world, displaced from their native world of Abeir. The gods are quieter than they used to be, and only in this year have they begun to answer the prayers of their followers again; only a select few have shown direct action.

As for the code, you really don't need to worry about that; everything you need is in there, you just need to replace the color=000000 with whatever colour you want and add/remove things as you need them. You can delete everything in Spellcasting up to spell names
. If you want to add a new line to a list, it's [*], just make sure it's also before
. Anywhere you see an X, that generally means you have a number you need to put there. You don't have darkvision, so you can remove 'vision Xft'. Adjust your stats, label your weapon attacks, and you're done.
@GreivousKhan Hmmm... apologies, but no, he wouldn't have been level 15; by the Tiers of Play, characters of levels 11 and higher are capable of combating threats to continents, which would bring him to a level of fame that wouldn't really fit this scenario. In that zone, if you made him around mid-thirties to early forties, and say he used to be level six (defender of cities), that would be more within my comfort zone as a storyteller and Dungeon Master. If you're set on the retired one-armed warrior thing, though, I won't stop you. It'll come with a few major costs, but could also be restored with a spell later on, if you were willing. Variant Human is okay, but I'll need to check the skill/language/feat you take.

Oh, btw, another couple of things for both of you; @Torack

The character application sheet on the first page is outdated, so if you could use this one, I'd be grateful. Character images are optional, but very much appreciated if you can find one. Please fill things out as you see fit, make sure to change the character colour to your own choosing, and read it carefully - it might be a bit of a long line of text in some areas, but the format is there to keep things nice and aesthetically pleasing. 🙃

Also, I will need a sort-of writing sample from both of you. From the perspective of your character, I need a 'short story' about the day your character spent in the town of Greenrest before the attack began (just use generic details about the town if you need it; there's no wall, there's only one temple, etcetera). It doesn't have to be a long thing; I just need an idea of your writing style.

Yes, I know, this is a lot. It's part of my charm. 😂 I can be very particular about certain things and how they have to be a certain way, and this is my first time running a game like this, but so far it seems to have been okay by the others.

If you need any help with solidifying your ideas or are happy to take suggestions, I'm willing to provide. I've already got a couple for your guy, Khan, if you want.
@Torack Hmm... well, @GreivousKhan has already expressed interest in the game, and I usually only six players, maximum, but if you both want to make an application, I'll see what I think of them and consider if both of you would fit.

copypasta, anyone? Khan, this does have a few extra things on the end.

The basic summary of the IC is this; the original cast, being Vaal the Kobold Sorcerer (Tangletail), Rhaeyla the Aasimar Monk, though she appears to be human (Eleven), Caw the Kenku Rogue (Vertigo), Surina the Dragonborn Barbarian and Magdar the Dwarf Cleric (their players dropped out) were hired by two human twins, Sebastian (Fighter) and Cassandra (Druid) to escort them to the town of Greenrest. Just as they came within sight of the town, an army, accompanied by a blue dragon, began their assault. The party has just rescued four humans, the Swift family, and are in the process of making their way toward the keep.

There are currently two other player characters somewhere in the city; Fran, the Tiefling Warlock (Lucius Cypher) and Mists on the Mountain, the Tabaxi Cleric - though he identifies as a Rakasta, tiger-like tabaxi, mechanically a Tabaxi/Half-Orc hybrid (Harbinger Of Ferocity).

Now, the reason that I've given Sebastian and Cassandra stat blocks is that this chapter of the story can be considered incredibly difficult; they're there to make things a little easier and because they're characters that I already had. Magdar and Surina have also been relegated to this role, though I don't plan on keeping all four around for the entire chapter.

I do have a few preferences that I'd like to state before we begin, but if you can sufficiently sway me, I can let some of them slide.

If you have any other questions, let me know.
@GreivousKhan Correct. Rolling can be fun, but this way, everyone starts on a roughly level playing field.
Hi. Could I request that you hide the following character sheets? Their players are no longer active in the RP.

@GreivousKhan Definitely room. As I said in the int check, I'd be glad to hear any ideas you might have; we're technically in a place where anyone can join up and it wouldn't be too difficult to fit them in. Since, you know, safety in numbers.
