@Digmata, I'd like a COM draw from you, but your COM is only 1, so you get:

The Lovers - Neutral - You are faced with two paths

Do you want to take that, or do you want to spend a push to do one of the following? As a reminder, you have 3 pushes at the moment.

Discard the entire spread and take the next card in the deck as your result.
Explain how one of your aspects helps you in this moment. Increase the polarity of your chosen card by one step.

Found this while watching this is a better image for Bumblesting

huh, very buglike, I dig it
Rally traded bullets with the Sparos, and the two machines began to dance deadly. The lighter machine kept its forward sensors on her Valkyrie, continuing to backpedal as it charged forward. Rally closed the distance--then--her thrust but a few feet away--the Athenian pilot's verniers engaged at maximum power. It spun off at an oblique angle to her attack, bounced an armless shoulder off of the Valkyrie's chest, and immediately shot off down the forest path at its best speed.

-----

If Rally was steaming alive in her cockpick, Lieutenant Lazarova's blood felt like it had frozen in his veins. Everything had happened so fast that he'd barely had a chance to react before his weapons had been neutralized, and his brain was working overtime to catch up. Beneath his fatigues, he could feel himself breaking out in gooseflesh as he realized how close to death he had just come, and how many times. That first walker who'd come charging in seemed to just be wrecking things--though the word "just" was doing a lot of work, considering Lazarova's job was specifically to stop those things from being wrecked--but the one in his rear camera was a different story.

Still--if his luck over the last few minutes had been abominable, he had at least made the most of a bad situation. Getting away from the ambushers' big, lumbering machines should be doable for his Sparos, and once he raised the rest of the squad, they could handle things while he got to a safe distance.

The Lieutenant grit his teeth and held the throttle down as hard as he could. The Sparos shot forward--then its pilot heard the chime of a comms request.

-----

Albert's throw, by all accounts, should have missed. Oh, the technique had worked well for him so far, and if you were going to do it, then the Daedalus was the machine to make it work. But rockets, while aerodynamic, are not meant to be launched by mechanical means--to say nothing of their mobile platforms.

And yet the rocket truck sailed in an arc through the air, as pretty as any shot thrown on a field. In fact, it sailed right over the Valkyrie--and as the Sparos engaged its thrusters, it shot forward right in time for the vehicle to take between the shoulderblades.

Myrmidon and mobile artillery alike went down, and before either could touch the ground the rockets exploded from the impact. The explosion washed over the front of Rally's machine, pelting the Valkyrie with debris; a cloud of dust and smoke now obscured the path leading out of the base.

-----

Leofric looked back and forth between his displays, expression frantic. His comms request to Lazarov had gone unanswered; now, the status light for the lieutenant's Sparos went from an amber "Damaged" to a red "Unreachable". He punched a button on his comms panel, displaying the other armored elements in the base; even those telltales were now showing far too much red and amber. He could hear the base feed coming in through his headset, as well, and the panicked screams of the soldiers fed his own fear.

"Discretion is the better part of valor," he mumbled to himself, guiding his machine out of the cave's hillside entrance.

-----

Marcus's sensors began honing in on the Chroma reaction they had detected; the signature was growing rapidly in strength, and it wouldn't take him long to spot the jungle canopy rustling--and a flash of white--in the valley below, as something large moved through the trees.
How's everyone doing?

👋

waiting for responses at the moment, wasn't going to press anything considering how long an absence I just took lol
Question, do we use the same deck?

Yes--sorry if that wasn't clear, all cards are drawn from the same deck.
Rearden Keane

Rearden smiled broadly at the little sprout extending the key to her. "A favor gets a favor, huh?" She knelt down and gave the plant a respectful bow of her head--only to grunt in surprise as the key bounced off her helmet. She started, then fixed the plant with a mild look. "Insistent, aren't we?" She bent down to grab the it, then stopped. At her touch, the black iron started giving off a soft light; she wasn't sure what kind of magic was at play, but after only a moment's hesitation she went ahead and grabbed the it anyway.

Looking up, it didn't take her long to notice that the lock she had just been fruitlessly poking at was also glowing. Rearden didn't consider herself a towering genius, but this one didn't exactly take an archmage to figure out.

Kneeling in front of the open chest, she sorted through its contents. Three scrolls--put those to the side for now, to check if she or any of her companions could read them. An extremely well-made... marionette? She had to admit it fit with the rest of the house's contents, though it was in rather better condition. And finally...

"Huh. Who is 'Isolde'?"
Hasdrubal Hjort

From the time he was old enough to understand danger, Hasdrubal had been conditioned to respond to the sound of travelers in distress. Before his conscious mind had the chance to take in the commotion, he was already striding towards the group of hunters, sheathed sword in hand. His eyes tracked the katari as she made her swift way through the village, stopping only when the woman crossed Pepper's path. The soldier breathed a sigh of relief--whatever was happening, at least his young charge was high up in the treetops, presumably out of immediate danger.

And then he watched her, after only a moment's hesitation, take off the way the hunter had came at her best pace.

She's as bad as a toddler. Hasdrubal snorted and shook his head, but he couldn't find it in himself to put that much heat into the thought. At least she'll be where I can see her.

That train of thought carried him up to the little knot of hunters, where he interrupted their conversation by physically leaning over one. He addressed himself to one of the two who had been carrying their injured companion, relying on his physical presence and the basso rumble of his voice to cut through the commotion.

"You there! What happened to your friend?"
@RickyG85, I think yours is the only one that requires a draw this round--hitting the fleeing Sparos with those explosives is going to be an ELE:

The Wheel of Fortune - Neutral - You are at the mercy of the fates
The World - Positive - For a single moment, the world bends to your will

Another good spread, but keep in mind y'all will run out of positive cards eventually ;)
Rearden Keane

Rearden frowned as she ran a gloved finger--lightly, very lightly--along one of the plants' brittle arms. They were in terrible shape, but that was to be expected given the level of care everything in the hag's cabin evidenced. She had thought that Hither at large was bad. It still was, really, but the fey swamps at least were an analogue to Eldath's domain.

This hut, though... she glanced around at the moldering contents of the room. The swamp was full of decay, but that decay fed new life--she remembered that lecture again, learning that the reason swamps were so full of life because they were full of decay. The house was full of decay as well--but instead of breaking down into new life, it just continued to sink ever further into squalor and death.

She straightened, suddenly, and marched over to grab something from the other side of the room. She spared a look over at the door as she did--thankfully, Aurora had seen fit to spare the poor creature after all. Rearden knew she needed to go introduce herself, but there were important matters to be attended to first: she had to water the plants.

Keep in mind: Emily was just stabbed in the back by her childhood friend. ^^"

Betrayal can do funny things to a person when it comes to social interactions.

I mean, the game is called Eidolon: Become Your Best Self, not Eidolon: You've Got All Your Shit Figured Out Already, Right?
