Another 'My Hero Academia' Early days, before UA

Ah, gotta love superhero roleplays. While I haven't watched the show it's based upon I have heard a fair summary of it. I'm interested in submitting a character of mine which might fit given the synopsis I've read thus far. She's a sound manipulator living in an abandoned mental asylum who lost her hands in a fight with a psychologist armed with a buzz saw.

It makes more sense in context.

It could have been at a quirk testing facility? Maybe move to an asylum after escaping?

Ryder

Before Ryder could even talk or complain, the ill spoken driver darted off leaving him just sitting there jaw hanging, wide eyed and scratching his head. Confused and in shock he stammered together some sounds as he looked around at the others but fumbled and failed to find or utter a single word.

But if there was one thing Ryder could do better than construct a sentence, (well actually there was a lot of things.) it was act. Seeing a familiar confusion on the faces of the others in the wagon Ryder realised that his only hope of answers was disappearing and fast. Without thought or warning his body began acting without command. He leapt out of the wagon and darted after the short man.

"Turn the wagon around! And get that thing ready to go!" He yelled back to the strangers whom he left behind. Not knowing if they heard him or even knew how to steer an ewe. As he pumped his legs running after the sword wielding mad man as fast as he could, Ryder felt a nostalgic comfort as his emotions rolled over. Confusion became frustration, frustration to aggitation, and aggitation to anger. Now this was something he knew, this was something he was comfortable with. This revelation coupled with the adrenalin of surging into the unknown caused a wicked sadistic grin to creep across his delighted face.
He had a purpose, he had a goal. To bring that old man back to the wagon and get some answers out of him.

Premises

Mankind has recently started developing superpowers, commonly being referred to as "Quirks" with just under 1 in 10 or 10% of the population having some kind of superpower. These new abilities are mostly minor and often go unnoticed. There are however the few that make an impact.

Some have found they can excel at certain jobs and make an easy living while others have found fame or notoriety in their actions, either deliberate or by accident.
This unexplained sudden gift can also be a curse. There is much of the population that looks down upon 'quirk' users negatively. Quirks users are still a major minority and there are those that think it's unnatural, unholy but mostly unfair.

No one is yet sure how to handle the situation or what is next, but one thing is for sure, people fear what they don't understand. Rumours already circulate the world that only increase the divide between quirk users and not. Stories of institutes torturing and testing people's quirk abilities. Then there is the tales of quirks that are so powerful they make men above and unbound by the laws of civilisation.

Hate groups, sympathy groups, and strange cults have all been born from intolerant lies, fear, deceit and misunderstandings.
Meanwhile rumours of war between the people constantly rise as parliament rush and desperately try to push through new laws to balance and end all this chaos.

This is your story, where will you sit in the grand scheme of things? What future and name will you make for yourself? If any.
