Well, I've seen what you're thinking and I think the character could be fun.

They are a bit too powerful for a genin and would like to remind you that you don't have to list academy jutsu (it's assumed you know them unless otherwise stated). Gentle Fist is itself, for example, something to list as a jutsu and you seem to have skipped sixteen palms and gone straight to the 32 and 64 palms. If you wanted Gentle Fist, Sixteen Palms, and your medical jutsu, I'd approve. You can build up more later, especially since you're sort of branching between two skill-sets.

Byakugan is not a guaranteed ability among the Hyuuga, it isn't unimaginable that some access the abilities of it a bit later than others. I'm not sure it would necessitate intense training. Generally, the Hyuuga have sort of focused their attention on the child with the greatest potential (see Hinata and Hanabi). Being heir is not guaranteed.

As I mentioned in the PM, Seiji Hyuuga was head of Clan until he abdicated upon becoming the Hokage. If your character's father was Seiji's younger brother or something like that, we could change potential succession lines, if it's a big part of your character, or even have the line of succession up for grabs between them. Could be interesting.

How Branch and Main House are picked in the manga is... rather nebulous, but your younger sibling isn't necessarily Branch House or only the heir would ever be Main House. I think Hizashi was chosen as Branch specifically because they were twins, not because Hizashi wasn't heir. For reference, Hanabi also wasn't made Branch (and neither was Hinata) despite both having been declared heir at various points. It's a little silly.

I'd suggest adding a basic medical kit to your list of supplies so's you can practice field medicine, if need be, give you a bit more versatility there.

The prodigy heir to the Hyuuga, Hiro is cold and aristocratic. While a very competent leader and strategist, he appears to disregard others almost completely. His skill with the gentlefist is well known. He's adept at playing politics and, while saying little and being ever polite, is used to placing others in poor positions. To most, he can seem ruthless in pursuit of his goals, but he holds himself to the highest of standards. He has a cool head, solid judgement, and determination that have seen him consistently at the top of his class. He has never been defeated by a peer nor would he ever deign to spend effort to defeat them, if they were to challenge him.

Underneath this cold exterior, Hiro tends to be fatalistic, self-questioning, and lonely. He feels the utmost responsibility to be a shining example of the Hyuuga and the Leaf that borders on crushing and his single-minded devotion to the ideal set forth by his father dominates his existence. Hiro does not know if there is a Hiro beyond his responsibility.

Born to the head of the Hyuuga Clan who would later abdicate the position to become the Hokage, Hiro grew up immersed in the political life and culture of his Clan and the village as a whole. Seiji Hyuuga was a powerful and respected shinobi and, while he never spoke to his son of his own accomplishments, Hiro was informed of them by others and was quietly proud of his father in a way that seemed fitting. But Seiji was a busy man and Hiro spent most of his time with his mother Haruka who taught him much about his culture and people.

During his time at the Shinobi Acaedemy, he kept himself separate from the other children, saying little and keeping his own council. Regardless of his solitary nature, his high scores and cool demeanor made him popular despite himself. As he got closer to graduation, he had developed a reputation for being aloof but those that found themselves in ill-favor with him also found themselves snubbed. It was rare to see him struggle with anything from written tests to field tests to combat tests. When asked about his work load, regardless of how great it might have been, his constant reply was "It is only a small matter" and would say no more about it.

Throughout his school career, he would occasionally visit his father in his office to tell him his progress. What was typical was that his father would listen and make a small comment at the end, neither praising nor condemning him and Hiro would lie in bed wondering about it. But Hiro's life was quiet and well guarded. His shinobi career would be reflect what he was: The son of Seiji the White Eyed Tiger, the heir to the Hyuuga, the boy for whom everything must come without effort.

-Gentle Fist: The Gentle Fist (柔拳, Jūken) is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Hyūga clan. It inflicts internal damage through attacking the body's Chakra Pathway System, subsequently injuring organs which are closely intertwined with the area of the network which has been struck. To do this, the user surgically injects a certain amount of their own chakra into the opponent's chakra pathway system, causing damage to surrounding organs due to their proximity to the chakra circulatory system. Even the slightest tap can cause severe internal damage, hence the name "gentle" fist. Hiro's mastery of the skill is exceptional for his age and he enjoys ending fights against peers without using more than a single hand (sometimes with a single blow), considering anything else beneath him.

-Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven: The moment before the Hyūga is struck by an attack, they emit chakra from all of their body's tenketsu to block it. They then spin rapidly, repelling the attack (and anything else in the vicinity) away and creating a protective shield for as long as they continue to spin. The greater the force of an attack, the greater the force with which it's repelled. Hiro's is currently quite close range, extending only a foot from his palms. And while he can create something larger, if need be, it loses its force making it highly imperfect the larger he attempts to make it.

-Eight Trigrams One Palm: Rather than focus on hitting multiple times, Hiro focuses on absolute precision, putting enough chakra into a strike to a tenketsu to render his foe overloaded. While delivered with almost no force at all, the effect can be devastating. Often used in conjunction with Body Flicker to surprise and enemy from range.

-Body Flicker Technique: A ninja can move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination. Hiro leaves plum blossom petals in his wake.

Jin's the second son of Gendo Kani and Jinko Kani, Jin was raised on stories of the Kani's greatness and his father's and older brother's great deeds. As a result, he grew up idolizing his clan (and developing a seething hatred of his clan's rivals, the Kurage Clan) and particularly his brother, who he was certain would definitely be the next Hokage. Jin's boundless confidence and energy, far from making him lazy, encouraged him to work harder than others. After all, he had a legacy to live up to.

Unfortunately, his pride and confidence often got him into trouble and his brash ways and flashy entrances could sometimes put other kids and even teachers off to him. Luckily for Jin, he never saw it this way in the least. The other kids were definitely far too intimidated by his extra cool persona to approach. After all, if he turned down their friendship, they might never recover. But the path of the marvelous was often a lonely one and Jin accepted the burden of ultimate cool. He'd bear it.

Kani Basic Techniques

✦ Crab Claw- Through extensive chakra training, the limbs of the Kani become extremely powerful and difficult to injure. The more training, the harder to injure they become. Additionally, their grip becomes something fierce, able to crush rocks, bone, even rend metals, eventually. At this point, Jin's limbs can handle a few blows from a katana before they begin to bleed and can crush rocks with relative ease.

✦ Dance of the Crab- By training their footwork, the Kani become both elusive and much quicker than their fellows, graceful to the point that watching them fight often seems like dancing, particularly Tango dancing.

Unfortunately, the arm is also ungainly and requires quite a bit of strength to move around with it, let alone wield effectively.

The classroom was set up in a semi-circle, the teacher's podium in front of the black board, the focus of the class. The desks, situated on an incline with each higher than the last as they went back, assured that no student would miss any part of Bohi-sensei's lectures. The Bohi-sensei herself currently stood in the front of the class, her back to the students. She had, cradled in her left arm, a binder and in her right, a simple white piece of chalk that was on its last legs. So far, almost the entire chalkboard was covered with precise boxes, each categorized "Team 1" or "Team 2" and so on. What was so remarkable about this was that every single one of the boxes and every single character on the board looked as if it were typed and printed. Further, if it weren't for the fact that it was obviously in chalk and it was obviously a blackboard, one might have thought that what they were looking at was some sort of projection. It took her an awfully long time to set it all up, and she was just never quite satisfied. Even as she hurried to finish, because she had to finish, she knew she wasn't going to be satisfied with it when she stepped back and actually looked at it. More than likely it was at a slight slant, or perhaps the board was crooked or maybe she'd accidentally discover that the foundation of the building was a little off, a centimetre or two... and then she'd have to start all over again from scratch. At that moment, her chalk decided to crumble into dust leaving a large white powdery ball on the board where the name "Yuzuzoshi" had once seemed so pristine. She froze. Her eye twitched. She reached for the eraser, choking the poor thing in her grip. She was going to have to write it agai- The very loud school bell indicating the few minutes until the beginning of class interrupted her small conniption fit and brought her back to the real world... the world that didn't have numbers and checks and balances and patterns that must MUST be satisfied... well... there were fewer, anyway. She turned quite suddenly, a mild, but displeased look upon her face. She looked around the room to see who was already there and who was yet to arrive. She couldn't imagine any of them would arrive late. What sort of shinobi would be late to see what team they'd been selected for?!? She took a few breaths and tried to calm down. It helped, but she still had the urge to get her chart just so... She told herself she'd do it later, once her other duties had been taken care of. In fact, she wrote it in her binder, three times before finally turning back to the class, clearly satisfied with the arrangement and much calmer as a result. The bell rang. She had to remind herself it barely mattered now; if she didn't get started explaining the student's team selection, she herself very well stood the possibility of being late to start class! This was exactly why she never used the chalkboard! "Goodmorning class", she began pleasantly, finally getting her footing, "today's a very big day for y-" She heard murmuring which interrupted her speech. Her eyes snapped from gentle to deadly like a flip of a switch and she glared around the room, finally resting her gaze on a group of students talking among themselves, one who had clearly fallen asleep. His body lay prone across his desk while a thin stream of drool leaked out of the corner, onto the desk and down the side. Hana scoffed and straightened her posture. They obviously weren't taking their future very seriously at all! She fumed, but then bit it back. If they wanted to miss out on their instructions, then that was their decision. "On the-" But then the prone boy snored and in the span of a second, he found his head smashed into the wall behind his desk. He looked around confused for a moment while the eraser that Bohi-sensei had thrown at him dislodged itself. "Chotzu! This is your future we're discussing here! You might wish to stay awake for it", yelled Hanna, who drew her small body up still straighter. Chotzu rubbed his forehead and whined, but straightened up too. The display of Bohi-sensei's eraser prowess seemed to have whipped the other talking students into attention too... and yet this didn't please Hana one bit. "Now class, behind me is a chart of each of the teams, complete with their number and members", she said at a slightly faster clip. She was annoyed, and now quite determined to get through this without any further interruptions. She marched over to the board and pointed to a perfectly square box labelled "Team 8" and continued, "Now, for example, Chotzu Akimichi? you are here, on... Team 8 and your sensei is Jounin Instructor Yamcha Yamanaka." She took a deep breath and finished with a wide smile, "Now, please come and see where you are listed and pick up your schedule at my desk. After that, you're all dismissed! Congratulations on your accomplishment and good luck on your ninja journey!" She bowed politely and crossed her way over to her desk, where she began arranging paperclips just so.

She reached for the eraser, choking the poor thing in her grip. She was going to have to write it agai- The very loud school bell indicating the few minutes until the beginning of class interrupted her small conniption fit and brought her back to the real world... the world that didn't have numbers and checks and balances and patterns that must MUST be satisfied... well... there were fewer, anyway. She turned quite suddenly, a mild, but displeased look upon her face. She looked around the room to see who was already there and who was yet to arrive. She couldn't imagine any of them would arrive late. What sort of shinobi would be late to see what team they'd been selected for?!? She took a few breaths and tried to calm down. It helped, but she still had the urge to get her chart just so... She told herself she'd do it later, once her other duties had been taken care of. In fact, she wrote it in her binder, three times before finally turning back to the class, clearly satisfied with the arrangement and much calmer as a result. The bell rang. She had to remind herself it barely mattered now; if she didn't get started explaining the student's team selection, she herself very well stood the possibility of being late to start class! This was exactly why she never used the chalkboard! "Goodmorning class", she began pleasantly, finally getting her footing, "today's a very big day for y-" She heard murmuring which interrupted her speech. Her eyes snapped from gentle to deadly like a flip of a switch and she glared around the room, finally resting her gaze on a group of students talking among themselves, one who had clearly fallen asleep. His body lay prone across his desk while a thin stream of drool leaked out of the corner, onto the desk and down the side. Hana scoffed and straightened her posture. They obviously weren't taking their future very seriously at all! She fumed, but then bit it back. If they wanted to miss out on their instructions, then that was their decision. "On the-" But then the prone boy snored and in the span of a second, he found his head smashed into the wall behind his desk. He looked around confused for a moment while the eraser that Bohi-sensei had thrown at him dislodged itself. "Chotzu! This is your future we're discussing here! You might wish to stay awake for it", yelled Hanna, who drew her small body up still straighter. Chotzu rubbed his forehead and whined, but straightened up too. The display of Bohi-sensei's eraser prowess seemed to have whipped the other talking students into attention too... and yet this didn't please Hana one bit. "Now class, behind me is a chart of each of the teams, complete with their number and members", she said at a slightly faster clip. She was annoyed, and now quite determined to get through this without any further interruptions. She marched over to the board and pointed to a perfectly square box labelled "Team 8" and continued, "Now, for example, Chotzu Akimichi? you are here, on... Team 8 and your sensei is Jounin Instructor Yamcha Yamanaka." She took a deep breath and finished with a wide smile, "Now, please come and see where you are listed and pick up your schedule at my desk. After that, you're all dismissed! Congratulations on your accomplishment and good luck on your ninja journey!" She bowed politely and crossed her way over to her desk, where she began arranging paperclips just so.

Konoha is enjoying a time of peace under the watchful eye of Hokage Hyuuga Seiji whose stewardship began after end of the Third Shinobi World War and which saw the end of the Nine-Tail's rampage across the land twelve years prior. But while they've achieved a fragile peace, seeds of its destruction have already been planted and must be weeded out. The Leaf's alliance with the Village Hidden in the Sand is unsettling to some of the other villages who view this pairing as an unbalancing of power. Some have even made overtures of arms-building, just in case the Ninja of the Leaf turn their great power upon them. Meanwhile, a former Missing-Nin from the Leaf has founded their own rogue village in the Land of Sound where they host criminals and other rogue shinobi for unknown purposes. Still more unnerving is the rumor of a group of elite shinobi wreaking havoc in several high-level outposts leaving not even the most powerful alive. Can the fire of Konoha survive?

A Bit About What You Can Expect

Welcome to Fire from Embers! I'm your host, Desdamin, and I absolutely hate summaries, so I'll get right to what you can expect. I generally have a very simple framework, but have a whole heckuva a lot of plot going on behind the scenes, which I allow characters to become privy to or not. It's my intention to give you guys a good mix of plot and freedom to do as you please and create your own stories. This means that what you see in the above description of the plot is going to necessarily be a thin veneer covering only what I can without giving anything away. Okay! Let's get on with it!

An Alternate Universe

This is an Alternate Universe RP that begins at the beginning of the Naruto Timeline and, which while it shares many similarities with the original, is not the same. There are, for example, very few canon characters aside from historical figures and the even then events may not have proceeded in the same way nor ended in the same way.

Some important things to note...

-Power Levels will not reach the ridiculous heights that the originals got to. Not even close.
-No Rinnegan. Sharingan is limited to its abilities from the beginning of the show pre-Shippuden.
-The Swords of the Mist aren't exactly the same.
-The Uchiha Massacre hasn't happened.
-Most of the power canon moves were developed by and are being used by characters other than who had done so originally.
-I will not allow any Genjutsu that would essentially be an instant kill. If you want Genjutsu, be warned.
-The origin of Chakra is the cycle of life and death. There are no moon men.
-Any specific question can be directed towards me, the thread lead, and I'll update as needed.

Rules

I'm not going to spend a lot of time making a lot of rules. I'd rather treat y'all like adults, so...

-Keep your posts readable, grammatical, and thought through. Certainly don't ignore other players' posts or character agency.

-Don't cause drama, obviously. If you've a problem with the rp or a player, take it up with me before you cause some big thing.

-I vet kind of hard and you can expect me to be critical of almost everyone's profiles, at first. This is to save trouble later. I'm willing to work with you, usually, to find something that can work. If, for some reason, you want to play a canon character, you'll be held to a higher standard.

-I don't expect one liners or novels. Give people enough to actually respond to and try for a bit of meat. If you really can't think of much, perhaps do a collaborative post to get a lot out quickly. Try to keep collaborative posts from a single perspective for readability.

-I reserve the right to kick out anyone for any reason whatsoever. My rules aren't technical and I won't be rules-lawyered into changing my mind. Act right.

Rules

I'm not going to spend a lot of time making a lot of rules. I'd rather treat y'all like adults, so...

-Keep your posts readable, grammatical, and thought through. Certainly don't ignore other players' posts or character agency.

-Don't cause drama, obviously. If you've a problem with the rp or a player, take it up with me before you cause some big thing.

-I vet kind of hard and you can expect me to be critical of almost everyone's profiles, at first. This is to save trouble later. I'm willing to work with you, usually, to find something that can work. If, for some reason, you want to play a canon character, you'll be held to a higher standard.

-I don't expect one liners or novels. Give people enough to actually respond to and try for a bit of meat. If you really can't think of much, perhaps do a collaborative post to get a lot out quickly. Try to keep collaborative posts from a single perspective for readability.

-I reserve the right to kick out anyone for any reason whatsoever. My rules aren't technical and I won't be rules-lawyered into changing my mind. Act right.
