Mandi El-Alzaru

The howling wind and falling rain was deafened by the roaring thunder, flashes of lightning striking the peaks above the old stone bridge. On the bridge itself, two mages were drawn into a full on magical clash. The first wore a light blue mantle, a white robe and carried a metal looking staff in it's grip. The second was dressed fully in black, hooded and cloaked and armed with a sword.

The darkhooded man moved with slower yet more trained steps, his arm movements were that of a trained and older one. The other individual was far quicker, yet not as refined in it's casting. A blast of fire shot out from the darkhooded figure, a massive bolt of lightning came from the sky to collide with it. The echoing sound of the lightningbolt striking the stone itself sent tremors along the mountainside. Heavy breaths came from both of the adults on the bridge, their grip around their respective weapons of choice was tightening. As if it was their very lifeline. Their footing on the bridge became more entrenched.

"Dracon flare!" The darkhooded figure screamed out, while at the same time the other figure screamed out a spell of it's own. "Holy aerial!" Was soon uttered, and a golden bolt of lightning struck the middle of the bridge with such force that the bridge itself was cleft in twain, sending both the mages tumbling down the mountain crevice. Then came a deep rumbling sound, being followed shortly by the howling winds and the falling raindrops... then came the darkness.

[BOINK!]

It was with a slight bump that the young mage woke up, finding itself in the back of a wagon carrying hay. Oh that was true, this was after all a way to avoid having to walk all the way to Magnolia. "Aouww..." The mage lamented softly. And then with a yawn, some armstretching and wiping of the eyes, Mandi's gaze soon began scanning the town for things of interest.

'So this is Magnolia?' The young mage thought in a ponderous manner, taking in the sights of the town. There seemed to be plenty of things to inspect, and most surely alot of people to talk with. Mandi couldn't help to ponder on what kind of people one would be able to find in a place such as it. Was there even going to be hotsprings or mixed bath areas? The mage peeked over the top of the wagon to the driver, who was still unaware of his thoughtful passenger. There was a time for paying for caravan rides, and there was a time to bounce. This was certainly a time to bounce, and with little further ado Mandi crawled to the back of the wagon and jumped down with both feet on the ground.

"Yuush! Here at last~ Oho! Would you look at that." The young mage lifted one of it's hands above it's eyes in a spectating manner, right towards the direction of a clothes vendor which had some girls browsing the wares.

"Whoa that looks great~ Neat wares." Mandi chimed in as one of the girls was checking out a dress, which in turn they both blinked and looked at the young mage.

"Thank you, I think this dress is pretty." The girl holding unto the dress said with a warm smile.

"Oh... the dress? That's fine too." The young mage began to tap it's chin with a finger after rising it's gaze by just a slight bit to get leveled with the girl, offering her a playful wink.

"Uh..." The girl lowered her own gaze before raising her arms and folding them before her chest, looking to her companion momentarily before going back to Mandi.

"Catch ya later~ I've got a town to exploradicalo!" It didn't take the mage long to close it's eyes and smile in the general direction of the two girls and the vendor, while passing them by with both hands crossed behind the neck. This was no doubt going to be an eventful day, and if it wasn't intending on being that way it could always be helped along the way. After all, if a soup was not flavourful enough it could very easily be spiced up with the right ingridients. A sprinkle of this, and a sprinkle of that and all of a sudden there could be alot of various scenarios which could benefit opportunistic foxes or creatures like them. But more than that, foxes were very cunning and very sly, for one moment you think you might understand them, and then poof... they have stolen your lunch and you are left blinking and wondering what just happened. Mandi obviously found foxes to be fun creatures, especially the more playful looking ones.

'I wonder where the library is... maybe if I could find the village idiot I could ask them? Shouldn't be too hard to find one.' Many were the thoughts that travelled through the young mage's mind, surely there would be answers not too far away.

Elthrael Vol'Kerno

"What I want? Haven't you listened, my vengeful friend?" He mused softly his mouth forming a slight grin, then he slid down closer towards Bowyn, almost as if trying to circle around him. Then the moth fairy lowered his voice and leaned in slightly.

"Names matter not as much as the actions one take, to advance oneself in the world is a natural thing which all living beings do since birth. Would you think me an exception to that? Hahah... ahh... but what would I sacrifice in the name of rebellion? The least for the best effect." He smirked as he flew back abit.

"There's more in my words than mere letters. Ahh, a pity the dear little 'princess' didn't heed my words neither, or she might not had been taken by that servant of the lich. Oops... the princess is out of the bag! I forgot to mention that part... Not that such a thing is going to discourage you from continuing along the path now hm? Have more faith in oneself than others, that way you are less likely to be disappointed." He added and set his eyes on the others in the group wandering over them with his eyes.

Zephyrin had spoken up, having said that the rebellion didn't matter to her, yet at the same time she craved adventure. Her words were not adding up. For what greater adventure would there be in attempting to dethrone a king? The matter in question wasn't simply a thing that was irrelevant to anyone present, the outcome of the rebellion would shape Avalia for times to come.

The winter fairy girl was hiding her true feelings. Were she an opportunist seeking to gain a thing or two along the way? To Elthrael it didn't matter, what did matter was that he would find the tool necessary to kill the lich and hone that tool well. Only after the lich would be dealt with her could seize control over the fairy kingdoms. It was imperative that the fairies would be kept out of the rebellion as much as possible so that the takeover after the lich would be a powerful and swift move. Once the king would have no place left to run. Elthrael knew he had to return to the river fairy kingdom, or at the very least the flower fairy ones.

Though such matters were for a later time, for where they now where, there were still various conditions which had to be met. Would the key to end the war be lost or simply insufficient, it would be pointless to fight the lich. It wasn't that he doubted in his own ability to do battle, but in the past many had fought the lich king and died trying to stop him. To simply face the lich face to face was not a wise action, if at all it had to be done on his terms. The winter fairy, Zephyrin began to point out to the sky about something in the distance, and Elthrael had already caught whiff of the scent. Fire. Something was burning in the distance. A forest fire? A campfire? It could be many things. Yet to not inspect it would be folly, yet diving in too deep would be even more so.

"Indeed... we are not alone. Do excuse me... I have a key to find. Catch you folks later~." Elthrael made a half-efforted bowing motion in the air, before he darted away quickly through the air in the direction of the scent, making sure to also keep an eye over his shoulder in case someone would follow or attack him. To animals, the scent of fire could be caught from far away, his own senses were impressive aswell. As he began to get closer he caught whiff of another familiar smell which caused his eyes to narrow slightly.

The port town. One day after Roshmi ball.

The morning had come, a new day dawning. The sun shone brightly, to most it would be a good thing. For the farmers tending the fields, for the people going about their daily lives. Though to Carneylus the light wasn't exactly his ally, he had to wear a set of specially crafted visored mask over his eyes. Metallic in their nature, and dark hardened glass for his eyes. With these he could navigate around during the day decently, thought looking into the sun itself or very bright lights were still not a good idea.

As a demihuman of the batfolk variety, Carneylus prefered the night if he had to chose, even if the warmth that the day brought was refreshing. The last night's feast and discussion with Valaeon had gone about smoothly, even if the demidragon was expensive in the food department. To not show him hospitality was out of the question, and he did have some amas to spend. While not as rich as a noble or a merchant, the demibat had made the port town his home since many years ago. Long did he try to scrape together amas to travel to the flower kingdom to find his father, but as the times changed his attention shifted elsewhere to others in need.

Many were the thoughts that crossed his mind, of the humans which had come to their world, of the lich and the looming threat of war. The people of Avalia deserved freedom, but not only from Aklenroth but of other tyrants which were serving alongside the undead king. The orcish warchiefs, the elven governor and various others which had made life miserable for most. Yet raising ones hand against any such person would not be a task for just one person alone, there were many influencial and powerful people in Avalia. While he and Valaeon were indeed very capable combatants, there were others with far more influence, wealth and power than them for certain. Not to mention when it came to magics.

Yet despite all of that, he knew there would come a time to rise up and fight and that time was closing in. The past was a cruel yet effective teacher, it made the demibat strive to get stronger so that he could avoid things from his own past to repeat themselves. Carneylus was taken away from his thoughts as a caravan rolled into the port town, various farmers and common folk bringing their crops and harvests to sell at the marketplace. All had to earn their livelihood someway.

There was one specific wagon carrying crops that caught the attention of some dark elves as it rolled into town, they decided to stop it and inspect it, as if they were searching for rebels. What would they even look for? How could one tell a rebel from a non-rebel anyhow? The dark elves were nontheless still willing to display their authority over most others, in this particular case it was a wolflike demihuman and his elven friend that was stopped.

"You do realize that hiding rebels or aiding rebels warrants death right?" A dark elven man wearing plated armor asked the caravan driver, the dark elves always knew how to stir up trouble where there were none to begin with.

"Please! We have nothing to do with any rebels we are just here to sell our goods... please try to understand-" The wolfman spoke up to the dark elf, his facial expression clearly showing that he was worried.

"Shut your mouth!" Another dark elf carrying a spear yelled out as he began to stick the sharp end of the spear among the crops, spearing some of the goods.

"Hey stop! You are ruining our harvest! Brigands!" The elven woman which had accompanied the wolfman said out aloud, drawing attention of a few bystanders which seemed incapable of turning a blind eye to the display before them.

"Oh what's that? Well well, who'd knew that a moon elf woman had such a filthy mouth." A longhaired dark elven male in a leather armor said aloud as he walked up and took hold of the woman's hair. "I should teach you a lesson. Heh.. maybe we should have some fun with you. Maybe we'd sell you to the orcs?" He snickered as he drew a knife and pointed it at her face.

"Let me go! Please- stop..." The elven woman pleaded, as the dark elves began to laugh one after the other. The wolfman got down on his knees. "Please I am telling you we don't know about any rebels! Please let us go!"

"I told you to shut up!" The heavily armored dark elf raised his arm and hand with the intent to slap the wolfman across the face. But his hand stopped as if frozen midair. The armored dark elf turned his head to look at his arm, where a hand was now holding it firmly in place. He seemed shocked momentarily, before it turned into anger as he set his eyes on the demibat which had grabbed his arm. "What do you think you are doing?! Let go off me or I will gut you like a fairy!" The armored dark elf spitted out to the winged being next to him.

"I am only going to say this once. Get out of here." Carneylus said in a stern tone of voice, his dark eyes setting at the dark elf's crimson red ones.

"Why you cocky little shit!" The dark elf uttered and swung with his free hand towards the demibat, who caught his armored fist using the palm of his hand. The demihuman then pressed his hand around the closed fist and the metal began to buckle inwards and there was a snapping sound of bone breaking under it. The dark elf fell to his knees screaming as the demibat allowed his hands to slip off him.

"You bastard!" The spearwielding dark elf yelled out and ran forwards with his spear, whereof the demibat softly drew his saber from it's sheath and made a slight sidestepping motion to counter the dark elf's thrusting spear, before the bladed edge of his saber sliced up and through the wooden pole that was the spear. The dark elf quickly pulled the remaining wooden staff-like piece back, before throwing it towards the winged man who dodged it simply by walking slightly to the side.

"One more step and I will carve her up!" The longhaired dark elf yelled, pressing his knife against the elf woman's throat.

"You are a coward who hides behind an innocent woman..." Carneylus said in a serious tone of voice, his tone neither displaying immense anger nor spite. "Drop your sword right now fool!" The longhaired dark elf demanded, while his former spearwielding companion drew a sword he had sheathed by his belt.ยจ Carneylus took a slight breath and then threw his sword aside, raising both of his hands soon after.

"Wise choice dumbass..." The now sword wielding dark elf said as he stepped closer to his companion, which now threw his hostage to the side. "Out of the way bitch. I am going to teach this beast a lesson..." The longhaired dark elf held out his free hand and began to use umbrakinesis, summoning dark vines to assail the winged demihuman. Carneylus wrapped his wings around himself quickly as he saw the dark vines shoot out and soon enough they enveloped him. Thorny and dark.

"Not so tough without your sword are ya?!" The swordwielding dark elf mocked as he glanced to his companion and grinned. The wolfman had at this point snuck under his wagon to hide and the elven woman took cover behind a nearby barrel.

"Not a bad coffin for you, winged idiot." The longhaired dark elf said in a satisfied tone as he ceased his magic, now looking at the vine covered 'pod' he had made in front of them. Then there was a cracking sound, then another one and finally the pod itself burst open as if it had exploded from the inside, as large batlike wings spread wide open as parts of the vines flew all over the place. "What? Impossible!" The swordsman said aloud in a mix of amazement and disbelief at the sight of the demibat breaking out of the coccoon of vines.

"Fine! We'll do this the old fashioned way!" The longhaired dark elf rushed forwards with his knife, swinging it for the winged opponent who replied by slamming one of the wings right into the approaching dark elf, sending him tumbling backwards into trough filled with water for weary horses. His swordwielding companion soon took a charge of his own swinging his sword in an overhead motion, the demihuman simply sidestepped yet again, grabbing hold of the dark elf's wrist, guiding him forwards further so he would lose his balance, while stepping up beside him and using a flattened hand to chop him at the back of his neck. Causing the dark elf to fall to the ground uncouncious.

The fight didn't end there as the longhaired dark elf rose from his watery bed and the heavily armored dark elf which he had broken the hand of was now drawing a dagger with his other hand and attempting to stab the winged man. Carneylus wing made a slap in reply, sending the dagger to the ground and soon enough the dark elf's field of vision became that of an outstretched hand enveloping his vision and it closed around his face and he felt as if his head was being crushed by the pressure. But he was lifted from his feet and then hurled down to the ground with such force that he passed out even before he hit the ground.

The armored dark elf was dropped yet again to the ground and the man turned to face the last dark elf standing who looked less than happy to see him. "I'll kill you!" The dark elf screamed and hurled himself in a fit of rage at the winged man, whereof both his wrists were grabbed in turn and then he felt the pressure of his bones beginning to be hardly pressed, causing him to drop his knife.

"Haven't you done enough already? Take your friends and leave us be." Carneylus said in an even more firm tone than before, squeezing the dark elf's wrists even further to the point he could feel how his bones were beginning to slightly become strained.

"Arghhh! Kill him! Kill this filthy beast and the king will-" The dark elf screamed out in pain and sheer rage, before his voice trailed off by the snapping sound of bones breaking. It didn't take long for the dark elf to be dropped to the ground and Carneylus bent down to pick up his saber, before sheathing it. How did things always turn out the way they did? He wasn't sure but what he was sure of was that he would never again watch the innocent be bullied or treated unfairly. With a nod of his head he motioned to the wolfman under the wagon and to the elf woman to continue along their way before calling for a healer.

While the dark elves were doing things which were no doubt evil, did they deserve to die by his hand as a result? He believed in redemption, perhaps it wasn't too late for them to do some good. All it took was to give them a chance. The chance he never got when he was young, how it seemed like his fate had already been written for him. And how things changed in time, he became who he was because of things that happened to him.

"Would someone be kind enough to bring these three to the healers or alert the healers of their condition? Thank you." He solemnly bowed his head to the onlookers before continuing to walk before he was stopped by the elven woman.

"Wait.. I.. thank you. I am sorry for putting you into trouble, If there's anyway I can make it up to you I-" The elf woman said softly, her feet touching oneanother as she was trying to come up with the right words.

"There is no need for that. Just be on your way before more of them show up." The winged man softly nodded his head to the elven woman, with a soft upturn at the corner of his mouth, giving her a single pat on her shoulder before continuing along his way.

Lost Haven (River at the top of the city map)

After having heard The Wanderer's words, Verge had teleported himself to his home to grab the only thing he felt like he truly needed with him. A set of pitch black clothes and boots. Having swiftly dressed off and on like only a few could imagine the young man manifested a crystal briefly too perceive himself in the reflection before teleporting a second time. This time further away.

Lost Haven.

When he opened his eyes next, the young man found himself in yet another chaotic place. The extraterrestial attack on the world seemed quite significant indeed, what were they after? To rule the earth or to destroy it? Verge would have neither of them. As far as he knew, the representative figure for the mother earth was none other than himself. The humans and aliens alike would have to be removed, and now was an opportune moment to do both. Though it didn't stop the young man from seizing a few moments to collect himself after the far distance teleport. When he felt he had collected himself, Verge began to hover, his feet lifting from the ground as he channeled his light powers within himself to empower himself. His angelic looking wings of pure energy appearing more brightly at his back as he began to cross the large 'river' between Olympia and Brooksdale. The dark waters below him.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..." He said softly, while raising his both hands, then a crystalline armor would begin form and decorate his completely black outfit, leaving enough gaps to not hinder his movement however. Within his right hand a crystalline sword would also form. The white coloured crystal would soon after turn into a golden colour. Then in his left hand an orb of the same kind of crystal but white. The young man threw a brief glance down to the dark waters beneath his hovering form.

"Darkness was over the face of the deep... and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters..." His tone became more calmer and almost methodical, a slight curl forming on his lips as he raised his head, looking at the crystal orb which was now floating away from his hand and increasing in size, kept afloat by his geokinetic powers.

"Then God said. 'Let there be light..' and there was light!" The young man's eyes widened and a grin appeared on his lips as he shot a channeled beam of light light through his crystalline sword and then with a flick using the other hand he allowed the now massive crystalline ball, which was now the size of a small house, to spin around quickly as the beam of light struck it. The beams began to multiply soon after striking the partly hollow spinning orb of crystal, sending beams of light in all directions of the area. Shooting down aliens and humans alike who were caught in the pathway towards Sherman's square, buildings, cars, alien ships and other structures were not left untouched neither.

Many of the said beams even bounced back right unto Verge himself at he floated at a distance behind it, only for the beams to be absorbed by him and in turn powering him even more. He kept using his geokinesis to keep the crystal orb spinning and floating, his light powers being channeled through his sword and into the orb, making it into a very violent and destructive disco ball. The various screaming of aliens and humans alike did not deter him for a second, after all it didn't matter how loud they were screaming, it would be nothing compared to the weeping the earth itself was feeling. Why would he feel anything in removing threats to the world? What was there to feel? They deserved it. They all deserved what was coming to them.

"It's like a melody, I can hear it in my memory. A final tone of breath ending with your... coming death... as I fly into the sky... I know that you will die. There is no escape, nothing left in my wake... crossing this path will be your ending mistake." The young man softly hymned on a song as the screaming, rumbling and crushing sounds were all around him.

The slightly soft treebranch was moved out of the view for the ever persistant, the ever timely governor of the good things in life.

"Where is that coming from? A stream nearby? Hah!" He said aloud, removing his hand from the branch he had just moved out of his face, causing it to whiplash two seconds later right into his face. The small branches whipping his scarred and muddy face, to such an extent the elf not so gracefully fell back unto his rear.

"Unff!" He grabbed his face with both of his arms as he felt the pain filling his face again, then the memory of his injury causing anger to swell up in him again. The elf wasted no time on the ground, but got up and raised his hand towards the tree which had the audacity to strike at him, using his light powers to sever it at the base. "Death... is what you deserve for that." He muttered as he raised his face in a slightly more dignified matter, like a noble ignoring the pleading of a beggar he strode forth into an area abit more open but filled with shrubs which leaves resembled palmtrees. There were still plenty of trees about, but at least he wouldn't have to cut them down to get through.

"Now where is that sound com-" The governor stepped forwards with such vigor that even his foot was too slow to react to the sudden change in elevation, it was a harsh downhill elevation which sent the nearly blueblooded elderly elf tumbling down a dirt, shrub and vine ridden hillside. He knew not how many times he had spun, his mind was all over the place and he knew not how to stop it until he finally reached the bottom with a splashing sound.

"Unfgnnn... uhh..." He groaned and swallowed some liquid which he began to cough up again, what or where was he? He opened his eyes. The stream?! His elven senses had led him to the stream and to water. Whilst it wasn't as fancy as wine, it was something he sorely needed... and this was far more clean that a pool of mud. He began to drink from it cupping his hands, and that's when he noticed one of his fingers didn't heed his command. The elf's eyes began to twitch, his body was refusing to do as he said? How dared it. None should disobey him. So he grabbed hold of the oddly poking finger and bent it back in place with his other hand. Pain. Excruciating pain filled his mind and body as it seemed to send shockwaves through him. His finger had gotten bent by the tumble downhill but it was now bent back.

The elf breathed out heavily, but now surely his hardships were over the stream was shallow at where he were but seemed to get deeper further ahead. The elf mustered what strength he could and began to stumble his way forwards along the ankledeep water until it got deeper and he noticed the stream was actually... streaming? Was that even a word? It was going away from him, meaning he could use it for transportation if he could find a ship. He found the next best thing. A old, hollowed out log of a tree which he pushed into the stream and then crawled on top of it and sat at it. Then the log began to float downstream as the water got deeper and deeper, and much to the governor the pace picked up. Soon he would be at the port and he could get dressed, eat and drink til he couldn't stand. And perhaps even exact revenge on some peasants. He allowed himself to relax abit, as he had not yet slept from the night before. But falling asleep on a log in water wouldn't do at all. He kept himself awake even as he leaned down on the log watching the water carrying him further away.

"My genuine intellect knows no bounds, where lesser men would have perished, I have survived. Take that, Andros the III. Thinking your hardships were the greatest." The elf scoffed to himself as the sound of the water was getting louder and louder, almost like a thundering sound, or water slamming against rocks.

"What now?!" He said aloud in an angered manner, sitting up properly on the log, and his now cleaned pale face grew even more white. The stream, or rather the river was disappearing ahead... and also the treeline. Water was falling. A water... fall. A waterfall?! The governor panic- rose with quick elegance to counter this coming threat. The elven eyes darted to the left and right and he decided to evicerate one of the nearby trees, causing it to fall into the river and then he jumped from the log unto salvation. The ever so cunning governor threw glances behind him as the log flew over the waterfall and tumbled down against the rocks below with a crashing sound. Then he began to notice the tree was also slowly beginning to move, thus he pushed himself forwards along the tree itself and jumping unto land again, soon watching the tree also tumble down the waterfall. He had eluded death yet again. His situation and near death encounter was soon overpowered by the feeling of pride and achievement. As if indeed he had been chosen by the elven gods to get out of any situation and he had!

"It is going to take alot more than some force of nature to end this extraordinary elven lord..." He said in a tone, almost as if thinking aloud as he began to walk along the moss filled land going deeper into the wilderness again. He wanderered, and he wandered until finally he saw some form of construct in the forest itself. "What? Some idiot living out here?" He muttered as he laid eyes on a small hut surrounded by all manner of vines and thorns hindering his path forwards. The governor began to channel his magics, cutting away the vines and making a path forwards. The light magic acting as a knife cutting it away as if it were butter.

As the elven lord came closer he noticed a fine looking appletree with green apples at it, he blinked a few times upon seeing this. So this was how apples were grown? He had only seen them presented at his dinnertable, never seen them grow out in the wilderness. Even in it's natural state, the elf couldn't help but agree with himself that it looked far better on his table. But apples were food and that was something he needed, he allowed himself to pick a green apple, even filling his arm with at least six of them before he took a bite. It tasted sweet and oddly enough good to the elven governor, and seemed to also dullen his pain in his hands and feet.

Then he noticed how the forest changed around him, and the ground itself was shifting in shape and his legs suddenly refused to obey his orders as he fell down on his knees and then with his face against the ground, the apples slipping out of his grasp. What was going on? His vision was blurry and he couldn't feel his legs, his arms were not as affected but felt dull. He had been poisoned! Who in their sane mind would put a poisonous tree next to their home?! It was then the governor realized that he had been the subject of a trap meant for intruders.

They were not alone in the sewer, what was this manner of creature which was now getting in their way? To the dark elf it mattered very little, what did matter was that the humans would be able to leave Roshmi and join with the rebel forces at a larger scale. After all the war would rely heavily on the amount of humans they could muster to defeat king Aklenroth. While his defeat wouldn't be the end of the conflict, it would be the beginning of it. For it was peoples nature to fight each other, that was something which the dark elf couldn't shake off. It was always there looming over him, in fact it had now become so much of his everyday life that he felt almost companionship with it. Then the promise of sweet death at the end, and how much he craved it. Yet even that craving was little compared to his hatred for the world itself. It didn't matter if it was Aklenroth, the humans, the governor of the elves or even this creature standing now before them. The rebellion had to continue no matter what, the humans had to survive.

Yet amidst all the feelings of hate, hopelessness and dark there was another feeling which he thought he had forgotten long ago. Guilt. He felt guilt for his thoughts of simply creating his dark magics, grabbing the two women and leaving Kuroi to fend for himself. Why was it so? Was it because he felt he owed the man for saving his own life? Was it because he liked him? The best way to deal with the emotion was to immediately suppress it and decide to stay and fight. Kuroi had some plan of his own, which had left the dark elf stunned momentarily as the vulpines teeth digged into Torvi's arm. What was he thinking?

Then she had flung herself forth to attack the clones which their foe had created before them. The dark elf was still hurting from his fight with the governor, his one arm not being properly usable and with that close combat was out of the question. A prolonged fight or a fight demanding much effort down in the sewers, or one where they would be further injuried could only aid in aflicting them with diseases and other illnesses, it had to be solved quickly. But how could it be done? Baraian raised his uninjured arm and began to murmur as he conjured shadows the size of the ones in his group before he hurled them forwards, making sure they would not come into contact with his allies and instead 'confuse' the clones before them, if nothing else get through their shapes and explode at their foe. While a dark explosion made by these would be minor in it's radius, it would certainly still bear a hefty sting.

"Hello darkness... my old friend." The elf said in a monotone voice as the shadowy figures were formed and soon after spread out and trailed forth, some along the sides of the tunnel, some along the ceiling.

The moth fairy began to flutter his wings, hurling himself up into the air, where he stopped to hover, crossing his legs slightly as he 'sat' midair.

"It is not a matter of me seeking the answer to that question, I know it already. I simply wish you lovely people to know your answer too, would you have not given it any thought. I cannot read minds, neither can you, otherwise you've would not have stated what you did." He softly mused before continuing.

"A person's true nature is akin to the heart of the forest, buried deep within... warded by thorns and vines. You can only guess what it may be, perhaps by the sweet smelling flowers, the trees yielding it's fruits or the colourful leaves. Yet the sweetest of things may be the most poisonous, how could you tell the truth from the lies? Perhaps only in time. As to what I am doing here? Let me tell you a little story..." The moth fairy moved one of his hands in front of him in a sideway motion, as if he was turning a page in an invisible book.

"To open a door, one require a key. But not just any key, the right kind of key. Some take the shape of a sword, others as a shield or set of armor. For not all things of battle are created to destroy something, some are created to ward the wielder of said sword. As certain as the water flowing in a stream, a powerful shield of the same kind will realize everyone's dream. The blade must be kept beyond the element of life, obscure and protect it's very existance from the evil one would seek to end with it. Light in it's purest form is the sword, yet without a sharp edge even it will be unable to cut the dark. Who is the smith that will hone the edge and where is the sword, now that is something worth pondering on for those seeking answers..." The fairy kept musing on softly.

"You seek to end the lich to give peace to the fallen, this is indeed true... but only partly so... It is someone... someone important to you that was... taken from you. A friend? A sibling? A lover? Yes... you crave revenge or justice, whichever word you prefer. Yet your statement that you do not care about the world... is not true at all. Because you are a part of this world, just like your companions are. To reject the world is to reject your companions, because they are as much part of the world as they are a part of you, and you are a part of them, my wintery friend." He allowed a soft upturn at the corner of his mouth, still keeping his attention on those in the group.

"As for the lich, what drove him to place the world in his hand? Perhaps his reasons were not far different from your own at the beginning. After all he was once a breathing and living being too, shaped by the world around him and those he surrounded himself with. A part of this world, if you so wish. Some elders have made claims that he was once an elf, but whose alive to truly confirm such a thing? Even so would you believe it?" Elthrael softly exhaled, blowing a falling leaf out of his path, causing it to twirl down towards the earth.

"Now here's an actual thought for you, what if the lich was not an elf at all... but a human?" The moth fairy's hair was blowing slightly in the wind, his eyes looking to the group over his shoulder as he turned midair as if he sat on a spinning chair.
