You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio
I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.
Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.
I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.
I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.
Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.
In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.
I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?
Here we go. The actual character sheet if this is good, will probably take the form of a police file. Presuming there's more than a few space governments after them. No picture since I don't see myself finding a real world person who would match, also can't use the ref sheet that this character takes soft inspiration from. Struggled on personality traits since I'm used to writing thos out. Hope this "rough" version is good for at least initial okay. If not, I can make changes as needed.
Archetype: Alien Techno Name: Serena Drakos Alias: The Mad Draconian Butcher of Velbar Age: Roughly 1000 years old Powers: Draconian Physiology - Draconians were once dragons who took on a more humanoid like form at some point in their evolution. This shift causes them to have a far superior muscular system to humans, denser bones, stronger lungs and oxygen carrying capacity, and slightly enhanced mental capacity. Serena is capable of short bursts of speeds exceeding 90 kilometers, lifting objects up to three times her own weight, survive for a short time without ready oxygen, and can be compared to most advanced intellectuals. Shame it went towards...well, less than savory purposes. Also possesses heightened senses, namely hearing, sight, and smell. Technopath - Ability to control technology. Allows her to remotely operate her own gear, and possibly mess with the technology of an opponent. Primarily used as a form of tactile hacking, to make it easier to steal stuff, or remotely call in an escape. Weaknesses: Sonic Weaponry - Sufficiently high frequencies can liquefy organic material, or cause problems, sounds not audible to humans are audible to her, and they can hurt. Can also disrupt her power. Psconic Weaponry - Attacks on the mind, while less effective from one species to another due to an alien mind, can cause disruption of her power over technology, rendering her ability to control effectively neutralized. Explosives - Just like most lifeforms, while capable of withstanding some impacts, outright explosions can disorient, and disrupt powers, or jellify internal organs. Notoriety - A Deserter, Terrorist, Pirate, Thief, Murderer. Serena has a rap sheet as long as she's been alive, or longer, matched as much by the bounties on her head. Makes travel difficult when your mug is splashed across dozens of stellar information nets, wanted dead or alive. Even when hiding out on a backwater. Alignment: Neutral Personality: Calculating, "Greedy," Sadistic, Well-mannered, intelligent Appearance: Draconians, due to being formally fully fledged dragons, retain elements of their dragonic form in their bipedial form. In Serena's case, this manifests as a thin layer of scales under her skin, her left eye having an iris that looks like a dragon's eye, talons on her hands and feet, a pair of jet black horns that rise from the top of her skull and angle back, as well as a pair of featherless tan wings that extend from her back. Her right eye is green, and possesses a crosshair over the pupil, while her hair is a mix of black and red, extending down to past her waist at its fullest. Some scales are visible where the skin is broken. Her standard clothing, power suit aside, is a simple full length black jumpsuit, or human shorts and a solid blue top. BRIEF Bio: Draconians are the stellar version of wanderers, who spend their entire lives moving from system to system, taking safe harbor wherever they can find it, but rarely staying long, as they have a less than stellar rep of causing the destruction of their own worlds, or being cursed with such. Draconians tend to be mostly solitary when not among their own kind, and its not uncommon for them to build space stations in neutral space, the results of cobbling their vessels together. Serena was born on one of these "slumships," born of a warrior family, trained from birth to be a fighter, to perhaps help the Colony Drakos carve out their own territory. But, she was born with an especially potent sense of wanderlust, coupled with being born with a power that hadn't been seen among the Draconians in centuries, a power that was among those heralded as disaster borne. Being a technopath was a blessing and a curse.
In part due to being considered an outsider even by her own people, it wasn't long before Serena deserted her own colony, stealing a ship and supplies, and set off into the cosmic ocean, at the young age of 25. Becoming a mercenary, a profession not uncommon among the star wanderers, she worked a simple system. Sell her skills to the highest bidder, or taking whatever contracts suited her interest. If a power reneged on her payment, she usually took it for herself. Due to how Draconians can effectively live for centuries themselves, if not thousands of years, she tended to just "wait it out" if a bounty on her head became too much of a headache. Dashing off to an uncharted system, wait a few years while doing whatever she wanted, before the government ended up toppling or lost interest. By age 500, she'd become a stellar legend. Such as the Velbar incident, where she blew up an experimental weapon facility, stealing its riches and weapons in the process, being dubbed a Butcher by propaganda, due to killing plenty of enemy soldiers.
Due to Earth's status as a backwater for much of its existence, Serena has visited the planet a few times, hiding out among the solar system, ducking behind Jupiter when eluding fellow bounty hunters. Her last visit was in 1885, when she became a wild west gunslinger for a time. Her return to Earth this time is simple, she pissed off the latest version of a "galactic patrol," by raiding one of their outposts, and perhaps...overall being a headache to them, and even as an outsider, looking out for her own people. Some of her past clients have tried to do her people harm, so she didn't take too kindly to things.
Potential Storylines: New Home: Simple enough, tired of running so much, and other factors, Serena decides to try and build an enclave for her people, so they can finally call a planet home, rather than slumships. Leading into possible tensions with Earth World governments as the effective stellar refugees start arriving in droves.
Karma's A Pain: Her crimes catch up to her, and bounty hunters track Serena to Earth, antics ensue. Maybe a stellar empire she pissed off comes looking to start trouble, or seeking to annex Earth, crosses paths.
Black Hole's Shadow: A darkness from deep space comes seeking Draconians, an old evil that's the reason Draconians rarely stay in one place. Just the usual "we messed up a long time ago, its still after us." Takes soft inspiration from the Interstellar Game's transcendence bad ending thing.
Notes: Draconians are a modification of a group from an rp game me and some friends are in, same name, but with a completely different situation. I do like the idea of wandering races, as that is a trope in some media. Serena's loadout would probably be a suit of power armor with shielding, but generally a high tech space suit really. Ship is a mobile home, with everything she could need. And yes, like most dragons, she hoards stuff. Mostly artwork and other cultural things she's stolen from various races that crossed her. Could be she's stolen a few Earth paintings in her life. Further questions can be asked whenever.
Of course, we could always talk more on Discord if this gets one. Should we not have ideas fleshed out enough by then, though, alternatively we could chat in DMs here?
I'll see if after reading your sheet, whether or not I can do a villain for you justice, I'll read up tomorrow!
Hey, here's an offer to anyone interested: want to play each other's villains? I have room for a secondary character, and we're a little sparse on villains. If someone wanted, we could make personalized villains for each other's main characters - make the universe feel a little bigger. I think it'd be fun for our heroes to have their own little rogue's galleries, and I wouldn't want to play my own character's personal villain because then I'd be RPing with myself every time they interacted.
Let me know if that sounds neat to anyone!
I'll freely admit to interest over here with my merc idea. Like I offered up above, they could have made foes on other planets, have others after them, or just overall rub people the wrong way. Alien mercs aren't good guys, unless the pay's good.
Alien merc with tech it is then. Won't have a sheet tonight, since I have to get up early, but I'll certainly sleep on things. Thanks for the clarity all around, just wanted to be sure on things. Wasn't planning full on "hey villain with minions" right away, was more looking at 1-2 underlings alongside the merc. So this works well
Might do a merc wanted by a few space nations due to either doing jobs against them, or just being a general headache, which could then play into someone's backstory if they so wanted, or into ongoing narratives. Being chased by other bounty hunters or space cops can always be fun. Thanks again.
So I do have a pair of ideas, which I'm just somewhat sitting on. As I am interested.
First one is a metamorph type character, who turns into a reptilian esque being akin to a dragon. I know we already have a guy doing The Thing type idea, and someone doing a minotaur, but it popped into my head when thinking about stuff. Dragon guy who possibly comes from a rich family, who covers up any time he's accidently turned. Due to the dragon esque morph, this could result in interesting scenarios. Like hoarding various antiquities and the like, as opposed to flat out hoarding wealth. I dunno, just feels like something I could slip into.
Other idea is pro-circuit gamer whose power is a form of telepathy, but instead of reading minds, she can see other people wherever they are, and read their body language, perhaps allowing her to spot what people are going to do before they do it in the game. Which would also allow her to see where they are in the games(if doing shooters), and thus allows her to get the drop on them. Ergo, a pro-circuit gamer whose power is allowing her to cheat the system, but she's really just got the ability to see what other people are doing. I know, kinda dumb I guess, but its also based on the "long range viewing" attempted by the US government at various points with supposed mindreaders.
If neither of these ideas fly, I'll see what else I can make stick to the drawing board. Thanks for feedback in advance. Would also help if either work, what rating they might get. Given neither are inherently "hostile," or dangerous, but could become so due to their powers. Not looking to play a character for their powers, moreso for how they have to deal with their powers and how this thus effects the situation around them.
What archetypes haven't been given a slot yet? I know the goal is to avoid a spread that's too much focused on one archetype, but I do want to make sure what areas are being preferred currently.
As it stands, I do also have another question, tied to one of the three ideas I'm looking at. Recycling variats of characters I've played before to save me with brainstorming time. Anyways, would a character with their own small handful of soldiers be acceptable for a character who follows an alignment close to lawful neutral?
As for actual ideas
Idea one is an alien archetype with a hint of magic to them. Alien dragon from a far away system that popped up on Earth in the relative recent past, and collects the works of humanity. Various cultural stuff. Fellow can take on a human form to blend in of course. While relatively neutral in the sense he's not an actual hero or villain, could be swayed to the good side. Mystic side would be having access to what his race dubs magic, but is really just manipulating the elements.
Idea two is another alien, but more techno, alien dragon who wanders the cosmos as a mercernary with their own ship. Might have some magic, but is more prone to using advanced tech where they can. Would be lawful neutral, but could be convinced to lean the good way.
Idea three, yeah, another alien, because I like aliens. Leader of a small force that travels from planet to planet, akin to the merc, but is actually a collector. Lawful neutral in that they do follow a set of rules, but also judges civilizations they come across, and thus could lean good or hard into being a "villian" in the interest of making the world better. Depends on how interactions go down.
Fourth idea I had is just doing a techno, maybe a cyborg or something. Not really sure there.
Well this was an unintended dump of info, but if none of these ideas work, I can drop back to the drawing board and see what works. Just found this really caught my interest, and wanted to see what would stick to the board once thrown. Thanks in advance for feedback.
Any hopes that they'd have the answer were dashed, but at the same time, Serene moved closer to her Caster, the information provided by the city's AI clearly taking her both aback, and perhaps a bit overwhelming. Then again... "Could this be...the work of whoever caused the command seal anomaly? The thought of other servants being turned into a situation like that Berserker, running amok, did not fill her with joy, even though it was unlikely that was the case. Familiars that servants were, and given her own awareness of how some saw servants as little more than tools, made her wonder just what kind of person would well...be behind all this. "More than one trouble maker would make the situation a lot harder to defuse, I imagine." Her slightly faked confidence aside, it was clear Serene was concerned. Not just for her own safety, but how her father would react to the news if shit hit the fan hard. She'd probably be recalled back to the US, and she had just gotten here, so such was...far from ideal.
"If I may?" In the midst of the others talking, something had occurred to Serene. "If you're right about the energy redirection to make command seals, what if what's going on is if someone used Age of Gods magic to thus undo what a command seal is? So if someone used the seal, instead the servant gets back power?" In other words, she had taken into consideration the other master's reflection, and the information from previously, to make her best guess on the matter. Even if probably born out of not knowing as much as more experienced masters would, the ol'razor always worked. Hopefully Da Vinci would have an idea of her own?
