Bio

I'm EchoicChamber, though I mostly go by Echo.
I'm twenty two years old, have a tendency to scream into the void, and mostly just hang around and do my own thing. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy roleplaying, though; I'm a big fan of the supernatural/fantasy genre, horror, and superheroes. I tend to avoid RPs where there's no fantastical elements, though there are times where I step outside of my comfort zone.
I reuse characters habitually across canons, and while I try to devote time to roleplay, work and real life cuts back on how much I can write in the best of times.
Yep.

Hold on, forgot to add a bit where Dawn mentions Drake, am gonna do that now, haha.

EDIT: Added a quick thing!
Dawn had to bite back a surprised chuckle at Eira’s response. It was a threat through and through- there was no denying it- but the phrasing was...unconventional, at best. She managed not to show too much of a reaction, however, instead nodding gravely and wringing her hands together. “I’ll try to, ah, keep out, then.”

If there were any further questions on the extent of Eira’s second Gift, they were quickly answered as the woman placed her hand on Overreach’s chair and quickly rattled off its- and, by extension, the owner’s- history. It was a bit...unnerving in a sense. Most who roamed the ash kept their past close to their chest, and it seemed that Overreach was hardly an exception. Making note to keep some of her older belongings securely in her bag, Dawn adjusted her hat, shielding her face from the worst of the sun.

“It’s no trouble, really. I mean, I’ve been in the same situation before, so just...pay it forward, I guess.” She shifted, crossing her arms over her chest. It seemed as if they were all heading east. It was hardly surprising, as it was the nearest settlement in a good while, but it made her hesitate a moment. While it wasn’t uncommon for her to travel with others, this group was a bit larger than she was used to, and it seemed that at least two of them were allied. If they decided to attack, the situation could quite easily get out of hand.

However...Overreach hardly seemed like the type of person to favor a fight. There was the wheelchair, sure, but he had been trying to keep the situation to friendly conversation almost the entire time Dawn had seen him. Even if his Gift was powerful enough to make up for the lack of a weapon, he didn’t seem like he would be a threat. The Good Doctor’s mind held a sort of...strange, muted quality about it, as if some of the color had been sapped away, but he seemed reasonable enough. And his reason behind the travel, along with the flicker of memory Dawn had picked up- of a woman, his sister- had sympathized him.

Eira, however, seemed unstable. Short tempered. Coupled with the fire that she had displayed earlier, the woman was difficult to trust.

Regardless, the town wasn’t too far now. As long as they made it before nightfall, it didn’t seem too heavy of a risk.

“I’m heading that way, too.” Dawn said, shifting the strap of her bag a bit on her shoulder. “If we’re all going the same way, I’m happy to talk until we get there. I mean, as long as you don’t mind me tagging along for awhile, of course.”

Only a few moments after speaking, she paused, head tilted slightly- as if picking up on a song some distance away. "We're not alone." Her expression didn't change from the soft, welcoming look she had adopted earlier, although her eyes had become glazed, voice dropping to a near murmur Given that they would be travelling together for a time if all went well, it was only polite to warn them of their new company.

Also, Kaze, maybe your character could be sent on a mission as well out to the Wastes?

Upon catching sight of the woman’s flames, Dawn recoiled as if struck, although she managed to compose herself after a moment or two. The last thing strangers needed to see was weakness, after all. Giving an almost sheepish smile, she stepped away from the wall, palms open to show she had no weapons at the ready.

“Sorry,” she said, mildly. “I just, um, wanted to make sure you weren’t the types to try to kill me as soon as I came out. Telepath here.” It wasn’t technically a lie- after all, she had been reading their minds not only a few minutes prior- but that wasn’t all she could do. Better to keep her cards up her sleeve for as long as she could. Dawn rubbed her arm nervously, looking between the three like she was trying to keep watch of them all. Her brow twitched upwards as the man in the wheelchair introduced himself- odd name- but there were far stranger people out in the ash.

“I’m Dawn. It’s, ah, nice to meet you, everyone.” She shifted on her heels at Aran’s request, and, after a moment, she carefully reached over her shoulder and drew a plastic bottle of water from her bag. She lifted it up, as if about to throw it, before thinking better of it, moving forward, and setting the bottle on the ground before retreating. It wasn’t too heavy of a loss, as she had two other containers- full, thanks to a building with still-running water a few miles back- but with any luck, it would convince the mentor and student alike to keep things peaceable. “I know it’s not much,” Dawn admitted, “but hopefully that’ll last you until you get to...wherever you’re going, I guess. You don’t have to give me anything for it.”

Especially as the idea of a complete stranger getting close enough to give a “check-up” wasn’t too appealing of a thought.

@bmxbrat484 Ah, I gotchu. And that's a very interesting concept you're using with Eira- especially with the swap between 1st and 3rd person depending on if it's mental or physical.
