Bio

I'm EchoicChamber, though I mostly go by Echo.
I'm twenty two years old, have a tendency to scream into the void, and mostly just hang around and do my own thing. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy roleplaying, though; I'm a big fan of the supernatural/fantasy genre, horror, and superheroes. I tend to avoid RPs where there's no fantastical elements, though there are times where I step outside of my comfort zone.
I reuse characters habitually across canons, and while I try to devote time to roleplay, work and real life cuts back on how much I can write in the best of times.
Yep.

Aaaaaa I'm literal garbage. I know I said I was gonna post, but my little brother and I went from my dad's household to my mom's today, and tomorrow is his birthday, so I was running around a bit. I'm the worst, I'm so sorry.
@GingerBoi123 I'd be down for a Discord channel.

And I'll also probably post tomorrow, too. Sorry for not responding earlier, I just hit a minor writer's block and haven't really been able to write much. I hope I haven't been annoying y'all too much!
@Majoras End The power that a character possesses can be unrelated to what their wish was for, right?
@Majoras End A scholar would be the best role for her, although I’m not sure if it could count as an act or not, haha.
I had been considering using one of my newer characters, one that devotes her life to the pursuit of knowledge and is basically a human Wikipedia- you can ask her something and she'll likely know, but she'll also devolve into tangents about completely unrelated things, like talking about The Lion King in the middle of a conversation. I don't really know what her compulsion would be, though, as the constantly rattling off information is more a tic than anything, and I don't really know what her act could be, either.
@Majoras End You don't see anything. c;
I was considering hopping in potentially, but I'm not really sure what role I would take honestly.
@Rodiak Hey, it's a small thing, but I noticed you wrote Espie's name as Esme in your post? c:

“He is my familiar, not the rectum fox. His name is Chupacabra, but I call him Chu.” The creature in question made a bit of a gurgling sound, before standing and clambering onto Esperanza’s head. He licked his teeth, watching Teka as he eyed up his master and eyed him right back. He said nothing- only making that same, girlish peal of laughter. Giggling, as if Teka had delivered the best joke that Chu had ever heard in its entire lifetime, however long or short that might be. He made no move to take the little toy fox back.

Esperanza herself made no effort to hide both surprise and confusion at the strange man circling her, examining her as if she were some sort of livestock. “What are you doing?” She made an effort to turn and watch him, turning to follow him- and likely making Teka’s examinations far more difficult in the process. Something that might have been missed from afar, and something more evident upon closer examination, was that the woman was absolutely littered in scars- animal bites and burns and claw marks. Most numerous, however, were the cuts. Deep, jagged lines that ran across her arms and hands, as if they had been slashed open over and over throughout the years with professional precision.

She blinked a little at Teka’s praise, tilting her head a little. “A nice shaped...oh! Thank you. That is very strange of you to be saying, but it is also nice of you.” Her smile fell into a deep frown as the man continued to ramble on, a crease furrowing between her brows.

More notable than the change of her expression, however, was the change of temperature. Bit by bit, the area grew colder, as if being sucked entirely dry of its warmth. Esperanza’s breath misted in front of her. There was a sort of building pressure, a sort of feeling of many eyes watching.

And then the hissing began.

Gaunt faces appeared behind Esp’s shoulders, faint hands clutching possessively at her arms.

There were many. A veritable legion, an army, of all ages and genders and states of injury.

Their mouths stretched wide, wide open, growing impossibly wide, but before they could do anything else Esp raised a hand, and they collectively fell still. “I am sorry about my family,” she said, cheerfully. “But they think you were being very rude, and they wanted to be making sure you would not be hurting me.” With a flick of her wrist, the faces faded like morning dew, but the hands remained.

“I belong to myself, but it was nice of you to give the compliments.” Her eyes returned to the birds. “What type of birds are they? They are very cute.” She nodded firmly, although her attention was quickly swept from the little ones to a new arrival.

A floating, purple-ish arrival.

“Hello! You are very pretty, miss! What are you?” She immediately rushed over, amazed. “I have never seen anyone like you. It is very cool that you are floating. What is your name?”

The hands still lingered on her arms as she rushed forward. A spirit, the ghost of a little girl about six or seven, peeked out from behind her. Where the girl’s eyes should be, there were only empty voids, and her jaw dangled loosely- connected only to her head by a few strands of flesh. She waved shyly from behind Esperanza, tongue lolling a little.

“I am sorry again. I could get you the wet wipes if you are wanting them? I do not want you to be upset.” Esperanza’s words were earnest, even as the rest of what arm Chu could reach vanished deep into his maw. At the news that such behavior from her dearest friend wouldn’t be entirely approved within the city, her face fell into a frown, looking over to him with concern.

“Oh. I did not know that people might not like that. I will put him away when we get closer to the city, I think. I do not want him to have to be hiding for too long, because he likes the sunlight.” With her free hand, Esp reached around, gently pushing against the chitinous bone on Chu’s belly. The effect was near instantaneous- with a horrible gagging, retching sound, Esp’s arm slid free of his maw, coating thickly in grey ooze.

“Good boy.” She gently stroked him along his head, then wiped herself clean with some paper as she moved to follow Marcus. “That sounds very good to me. Do you think she will be liking me?” Esp made no attempt at hiding the enthusiasm in her voice whatsoever. Why should she? Excitement was hardly something to be ashamed of. She bounded happily after her new, strange companion, and promptly stopped in her tracks as another, particularly strange man stepped out of a...something? In front of them. A portal? A rip? She wasn’t particularly sure, but,

“That was incredible!” Esp grinned. Her eyes were wide, filled with genuine wonder. “What sort of magic was that? I like your birds very much, too. I have a bird, too, but he is very angry.” She paused at the man’s declaration, giving a puppyish tilt of her head. “Rectum? That does not make any sense. Chu is Chu. He is not the fox.” She nodded. Chu, from his perch on her shoulder, laughed.

Then vomited a plush fox toy onto the concrete before them, after a series of horrendous “hck” sounds and gagging.

Black, beady eyes stared mournfully up at the sky.
I've been busy myself due to having to prepare to spend a few days at my dad's house, so I apologia for not posting yet as well. ^^;
