Dawkin Trustram
Dawkin acknowledged Amelia's response but didn't bother changing his compliment. Joshua, as per the usual, explained both the pros and cons and waiting for a full team. Dawkin nodded silently in affirmation at Joshua's question, after all, there were few places to catch a cactus pokemon but in the desert. Joshua's next statement however, left a bit of a bad taste in his mouth. Certainly it was all right for a veteran trainer to help when the situation involved another veteran trainer but.. To have him follow them around in case they ran into trouble? It didn't feel right.
Dawkin mulled it over, the indecision on his face likely quite evident. "I appreciate your concern, but I must protest against being babied. You said yourself, my current team isn't bad and I'm carrying several emergency items, repels among them. If a sandstorm were to come out of nowhere, I'm sure I could put together a quick shelter between Atlas and Whooper and wait it out." Dawkin wouldn't live or die by his argument, but he felt that if he didn't at the very least put up a token resistance he'd have a hard time justifying it to himself. At the end of the day having a veteran trainer around was helpful, but it just wasn't his style.
