Is all training in the training room done solo? I think I may have Felix try some training if so. Also, are our rank/abilities updated based on what we display in the training room? Or through other means? And is there anything else we need to know in order to train there?

Sorry ive been super busy with classes and track meets the last couple days. I should be able to get some work done on my character sheet today though. Just letting you know im still interested!

That's fine. I'm taking time before I even respond to the character sheets (about a day per CS) in case people want to make changes before I send them a PM discussing their characters before I can accept them. And you have as long as until everyone posts their character sheets, and we only have two of six up. So, unless you're the last person to submit a character sheet and taking a while, there won't be much problem until we have the rest in.

We're going to be waiting for everyone (so far six people who've stated their interest that I will link to this topic) to post their character sheets here in the OOC to be approved. And then I will let you know if its approved and to put it in the Characters tab when done. Once everyone has their character sheets up, I will start the IC off with a post. Since I made the interest check about a week ago, and we've gotten about six people who've stated interest, we're gonna be going with that.

Welcome to the country of Amestris, more specifically the capital of Central City, home to many different ranks of State Alchemist. Our story begins after the fall of Fuhrer King Bradley and the rise of Fuhrer Mustang. The country is currently in a state of recovery and uncertainty, trying to weed out any whom still stand for the ideals of Bradley and on constant look-out for any possible coups to reinstate a reign of corruption and chaos.

"Should you choose to accept the position of State Alchemist, you'll be required to serve the military in times of national emergency. In return, you'll receive privileges and access to otherwise restricted research materials. If you join, the decision will be yours and yours alone, it is entirely up to you now. We will not force you, we merely offer the possibility. Whether to move forward or stay still. Will you stand up and seize the chance the military can offer you?"

"Stand up and walk. Keep moving forward. You've got two good legs, so use them. You're strong enough to make your own path."

Introduction

Alchemy, the science of understanding, deconstructing and reconstructing matter. However, it is not an all-powerful art, it is impossible to create something out of nothing. If one wishes to obtain something, something of equal value must be given. This is the law of equivalent exchange, the basis of all alchemy. In accordance with this law, there is a taboo among alchemists, human transmutation is strictly forbidden. For what could equal the value of a human soul.

Amestris Current State

Though, due to the tensions at home, there is fear of uprisings and riots of the people, vigilantes, and terrorist activity running rampant in the capital of Central City and around the country. This leads to the rise of self-proclaimed "revolutionaries" who attempt to crumble the foundation of their country.

The tides are shifting away from war and hostility and making its way towards an era of peace and stability. But the progress is slow and difficult in these times. There is an air of distrust in the people towards their government after the revelations of Bradley's deceit. Though most of the truth of the matter was not revealed directly to the people, mostly all they were allowed to know is that Bradley was not who he seemed and betrayed his country and his people in many acts of treason.

Though, beyond the doubts of the people, within the ranks of the State Military, there are high hopes in the wake of Mustang's ascent. Morale and confidence within the Military has never been higher in fact. So there is no better time than the present to be part of such an elite group.

Relations with Xing and Ishbal

Amid rising tensions at home between the people and their government, relations abroad are still in the process of being repaired. Specifically relations between the countries of Xing and Amestris are thriving, travel between one country and the other have never been so easily accessible since the return of the Xingese prince Lin Yao.

Upon the death of Fuhrer King Bradley, or shortly after, any Ishbalan land taken was returned to the Ishbalans. Relations between Amestris and Ishbal recovered not long after, as any anti-Ishbalan policies that were in effect were either disregarded or reversed under Fuhrer Roy Mustang.

Scar was later pardoned for his crimes against the State Military, due to his role in helping bring down Bradley. Scar was however exiled from Amestris because he could still not forgive what had been done to his people. He later returned to the recovering Ishbal region in order to atone for the many he had slaughtered.

While Doctor Marcoh went with the Ishbalans to their homeland to be their doctor, after having partially restored Roy Mustang's sight. His sight could not be fully recovered through the use of the limited amount of philosopher's stones Doctor Marcoh still had at his disposal. However, sight was restored enough to be able to "see" fairly clearly. At least enough to operate efficiently and carry out his duties as Fuhrer.

Homunculi

Homunculi have been around since before Amestris was known as it is. They have always existed in some form or another, for as long as alchemy and the Gate of Truth has existed. Father was not the first, nor the last to manifest personifications of the deadly sins, though there are many other personifications yet unknown to the human race. Or as have become unknown, lost to the passing of time. Neither are they the most powerful homunculi who have ever existed, they are simply the most well known from their rather short time of existence in the true scope and expanse of time as are known to prevail.

This is where you will begin your adventure, you start as a common civilian with promise and potential in the field of alchemy, taking the military exams. Whatever your reasons for joining the State Military, whether it be to make a name for yourself, personal power, a means to obtain money for everyday expenses and food, or to simply hone your abilities; you've come to the right place.

Specialties: (What your character specializes in, what abilities your character has, as well as secondary and tertiary specialties if any, such as weapons expert of some sort or maybe your character specializes in infiltration, things of that nature should all be explained here)

State Title: (Such as "Fullmetal Alchemist", "Flame Alchemist", "Strong-Arm Alchemist", this title is what you will go by after passing the exams)

History: (Bio and backstory, include where specifically they are from. Bear in mind that alchemy without a transmutation circle is still fairly rare, so your character won't be starting with the ability, though if your character is willing to give up a few things, it can be obtained later on.)

Equipment: (Anything extra your character uses or carries with them, if anything special, including armor or auto-mail)

Rules

Rules: 1) The site's rules of course all apply. 2) Please don't double post in the actual IC, OOC is fine 3) Please don't post your character sheet in the Characters tab until it has been approved. 4) Respect other players and the GM, this includes asking other players if your post involves some kind of action from them. 5) No OP characters (ie people who can kill from just touching someone). 6) Original characters only. 7) Please try to be active every day or two, whether a short IC post or an OOC post explaining why you can't post that day. Though I'm curious, once we've left a place we've already been, will we be able to easily find our ways back to those places if we want?

Lei wonders a bit about something the old man said to him; 'where the faithful are called to await the return of the gods'. And, while he's skeptical there are in fact any living gods to begin with, he wonders if that is why his master came here, to wait their return. If so, maybe this temple was Lei's best bet at finding his master.

While Lei is certain under different circumstances he would have stood a chance against the man to find out about more places, he hasn't quite had the time to properly recover from his trip up the mountain and is certain his fatigue would bring him down. "Maybe after I have rested some." He says politely before asking. "Though will you tell me how to get to this temple?" It seems as good a place as any to start. And if need be, he could probably find his way back here in the future to rise to the challenge and find out more.

I believe you're the sixth (if everyone interested is still interested), but I still want to see how many we have by the end of the next couple days, which would be within the next 48 hours now, I think its already been around 24 since I said 72 anyway.

Currently working on the first post for the IC, should be ready by then.
