Fleet Admiral — Roleplayer Guild

I am Fleet Admiral I am in real life joining the United States Navy in a few months. I have been roleplaying for several years now and been on two other sites that have pretty much fallen from grace. I like roleplaying casual to advanced especially in fandom role plays. I have taken a look around this site and like what I see. I bring with me this idea which can be an idea on its own or maybe be used in your Expanding Horizons Roleplay somewhere, even if it needs some tweaks.

Chapter One: The Age of the Gods

The world began full of magic and all things supernatural even before the first of mankind drew breath. Beings from other realms and dimensions as well as beings born on the Earth itself dominated the world. Mankind was brought into this world and became a part of this world of the Supernatural. However towards the end of the Age of the Gods, slowly but surely overtime mankind prospered and the Supernatural began a steady decline for many reasons. Gradually most things Supernatural disappeared from the face of the Earth whether they went to various realms and dimensions connected to the Earth or just simply hid in the world veiled by human skepticism and logic. Eventually the Age of Gods simply became myth and legend, vanishing barely leaving any traces or remnants.

Chapter Two: The Age of Man

Mankind developed through the use logic, reasoning and most of all science. The more humans advanced in the fields of science, the more advanced the world they live in became. However, mankind also used these advancements to fight amongst themselves using increasingly more destructive weapons and technology. Mankind also began to truly test the limits of the Earth’s resources. Science and technology had come to create more problems than it was able to solve. Energy and environmental crises arorse because of technology, yet technology and science could not solve these crises. The Earth was stuck in a downwards spiral towards its end, set off by World War III. The result of mankind's own hubris was endless war, pollution, and suffering at their own hands.

Chapter Three: The Five Emperors

The world and mankind were saved by 5 individuals, the 5 Emperors, who brought about this new age. No one knows where they came from or even what they look like. Depictions simply show humanoid figures and their Crests.
The Emperor of Ley Lines wields the most powerful environment and territory,
The Emperor of Lightning wields the most powerful element,
The Emperor of Creation wields the most powerful equipment,
The Emperor of Ambition wields the most powerful energy and spirit,
The Emperor of Anti Magic wields the most powerful defense and counter offense.

This was the Second Renaissance or the Imperial Renaissance.

The Emperor of the Ley Lines revived the destroyed enviroment completely as if the war never touched it. Scorched Earth, melted polar ice caps, melted Artic region, irradiated lands, blast craters, destroyed civilizations, deserts, tundra, and more returned to state before the war. Much of the Earth was restored to the point where it looks as if it was untouched by man. Then she flooded the world with Supernatural forces again. They also opened up the other supernatural realms and planes of existences to Earth, reviving these severed connections allowing supernatural beings to repopulate the Earth in coexistence with mankind.

The Emperor of Lightning created a new form of science and magic for mankind that would become known as Human Magic to non human supernaturals, this was Alchemy. By the time of WW3, Mankind had evolved slightly to be able to use 100 percent of their brain granting them certain capabilities. Besides Alchemy there are other arts less popular that also based on that evolution such as Adrenal Activation users. Alchemy is based upon a human's ability to connect, interact, and manipulate their own bioeletricity and bio electromagnetism. The Lightning Emperor sought give humanity the ability to create or rather re - create the miracles of magic through science and human evolution. The most common theory is that he wanted Humans to not have to resort back to using their old technology and science but capitalize on all they learned from it. He didn't want them dependent upon the powers and supernatural arts of other races and beings. They needed something that was truly their own.

The Emperor of Creation, created the godsends powerful objects and equipment by his own powers. There are godsends that seem like legendary objects of myth and legend but just many which seem to have no such basis. There some godsends that are simply containers holding in legendary spirits or powers. Godsends truly have an almost infinite amount of variation in what they are, what forms they take, and accessibility. Some godsends can be genetic or randomly appear in new hosts, some are in dungeons and other such hidden locations where one must journey and undergo trials to obtain them, some are public but one must be worthy to gain it, some can be simply passed around, etc. The reason for the creation of the Godsends in unknown and the most common theory is just that it has a lot to do with the creation of Alchemy.

The Emperor of Ambition, whipped humanity and other beings back into shape going from location to location normalizing structure and co existsence to what would normally be utter chaos and panic. It's also believed he may have had something to do with humanity's evolution and their being able to use Alchemy, Godsends, and mystically powers. They believed he lead the Five Emperors in their efforts to bring about this new age.

The Emperor of Anti Magic, it is unknown what he had been doing during this time but it's clear whatever behind the scenes work he was doing it was for a good reason the world is not ready for.

And then each Emperor just vanished. There are no records of specifically when and why they disappeared after performing their tasks did they vanish. It's rumored they dispersed themselves among the population or went to some domain out of reach of anyone else. There are many who claim to be lineage of one to all five Emperors, but none of these claims can be verified.

As much as the world has changed there are those who refuse to change wih it and fight against the tide. All throughout these periods of change nations rose, fell, and changed for better or worse. Some countries accepted the Supernatural and/or Alchemy while others cling the technology of the old age. Much of the world adopted Alchemy and the technology of the old age came to be something most of the world frowned upon.

The technology of the old age , redubbed Black Technology, was phased out and replace with new Alchemical technology. Alchemy began to revolutionize the world, this period of time became known as the 2nd Renaissance. There are those who still make use of Black Technology. Human Technology today is most often based upon Alchemy.

The world was at a relative peace compared to the chaos of World War III, but also could be said to still be in a state of change and calamity. It's indeed a brave new world and has been for really an untold amount of time, could be centuries, millennia, eons, and even more. The years are counted in BR(Before Resnaissance) and AR.

Alchemy Entries: It's still a building concept so I basically update this database with new entries that I think of. These entries contain special information relating to Alchemy. Other people are allowed to submit suggestions to this concept.

Entry #1: Inner and Outer

Alchemy became the new age form of Magic, also called Human Magic by nonhuman supernaturals. Alchemy was made possible by mankind gaining the ability to access more of their brain capacity. This eventually yielding the potential to interact with their inner "energy" and the outer "energy" that flows and surrounds everything. Users of alchemy are called Alchemists. Alchemists manipulate the electric fields that are present in all matter in the universe.

The Inner energy( refer to bioelectricity link to skip this paragraph) that Alchemy refers to is actually one's own bioelectricity. In order to use magic one would have to connect with that. The old forms of Magic saw this as connecting with your inner power and that's pretty much what it is. Some forms of Alchemy can be used solely with the use of one's "inner energy" such as physical augmentations, Tech/Weaponry, forms of extra sensory perception, or even a form of telepathy.

The outer energy are the electric fields of everything that is not their own bioelectric field. The use of the outer energy is done by interacting one's inner energy with the outer energy. In other words, it's manipulating their own bioelectric field to interact with external electric fields. This is what true Alchemists are able to do. This is also harder than simply using one's inner energy which is why this is less common.

What makes Alchemy unique is that it can approached in a variety of ways. For example, one can approach it from a scientific point of view or from a more mystical point of view and the result would be pretty much the same.

Entry #2: Weapons and Tech

New technology and weaponry came into existence because of Alchemy, one doesn't need to know Alchemy to use Alchemical technology. Alchemical Technology generally works by interfacing with the user through their bioelectromagnetism and neural impulses. Pretty much anything one can imagine within reason such as elemental swords, firearms that manufacture their own ammunition and can fire special ammunition, all the way to special gloves that allow for telekinetic surgery. There are in fact many fighters who use Alchemical weapons don't actually know Alchemy themselves, or learn it through their weapon. There are also weapons that require one to know Alchemy to utilize their full potentinal. There's also some artificially sentient weaponry made sentient through one way or another that also exist. When most people say technology they are referring to Alchemical technology. Tech from the old era is called Black Technology and is actually banned in most Alchemy and Supernatural nations.

This is another reason Alchemy is something most humans can use because standard Alchemical Technology and Weaponry is something most human can figure out how to use just like using normal weaponry. There are those who won't know actual Alchemy but use an Alchemically made Weapon that does most of the work such as maybe a wand like object that can cast Earth based Alchemy.

Entry #3: Neuro Vampires

Because one of the core elements of Alchemy is one's bio electricity there would inevitably be the development of a skill to drain bioelectric currents. People who specialize in those kind of skills are called Neuro Vampires. By draining the bio electricity of their opponents they gain more power to use at their disposal while weakening their enemy. They normally do this through physical contact or through contact with a short range weapon or even a familiar. This form of Alchemy also have its consequences appearance and mental wise to even possible dependecy on the bio electricity of others.

Entry #4: A Bound Circle

Users of Alchemy can perform what's called a binding of a circle which is similar to how witches bind their circles. It is done with a set of spells designed to attune their bio electricity with each other, these spells are casted by the leader of the circle. By binding a circle they share their collective power amongst each other individually, while acting as amplifiers to each other when two or more of them are together. The leader however gains an extra portion of power and the leader can remove someone from the circle, dissolve the circle, or add to the circle. But the leader's power can be stolen if they are killed by someone in the circle or if they will it to another, even to someone outside of the circle.

The Godsends

It is believed that most Godsends choose their possessors because of how few were able to be accessed and the ones that have been accessed only opened for a specific individual. A few Godsends that had not impacted already lie in the hands of their Possessors. It is also rumored that several strange structures, markers, and phenomenon have appeared since the Godsends descended upon Earth.

It is believed the Godsends contain immense potential because they are unlike anything previously seen Supernatural or otherwise. This is because some Godsends seem to resemble mythological or legendary objects, however it seems none of them wield that level of power they should wield if they are those powerful objects of legend. A theory on the subject is that those stories could have been grossly exaggerated by the witnesses because of how primitive their world was at the time. Yet many still believe the Godsends hold that power but it just has to be unlocked a little at a time.

The Kingdom of Symphonia occupies what would be Australia. It’s a prosperous nation that has been revolutionized by Alchemy and one that is accepting of the Supernatural. The nation itself is a hot zone of Supernatural activity, a fact they were smart enough to advantage of. It's also a melting pot full on people and beings from around the world.

The Capital(In pic above)

Sindria was a built over a battlescar of World War III as it’s a city built on a body of water that did not previously exist. Sindria is located in the center of Symphonia in a man made lake that was formed from some devastating weapon used during World War III. This seemed like a good location for the capital because it’s in the water at the dead center of the nation, so it would be easy to defend and draw forces from others areas of the nation. Sindria also doubles as a military stronghold and contain a few important military installations. Among the military installations is the Symphonian Alchemical Military Institute known by the acronym SAMI. It's quite literally the heart of Symphonia.

History

The nation of Symphonia initially started as just a fleet of high tech warships and submarines. The origins of the vessels are unknown as all insignia and such were removed from them. This fleet came upon this massive island, formerly known as Australia, and chose to settle there. It was descent sized land mass and their ships patrolled the waters around while colonists went on land to start a civilization. There weren't any sentient life forms found or any civilizations, so the colonization went as planned. The highest ranking officer, the Grand Admiral, took charge as the leader of the civilization and declared it the nation of Symphonia. They were a melting pot already because of the various origins of vessels in the fleet. However led of this prosperous nation spread and more immigrants came including supernaturals.

Government

Being Symphonia was lead by a military officer and initially composed of warships, the government of Symphonia would end up being a Stratocracy. The state, government, and military are all one and the same. At the top of the government is the Grand Admiral who's the President, Commander in Chief, and Monarch of Symphonia. The way Grand Admirals are chosen varies from succession to succession but most they are chosen by the previous one from the current pool of 5 Star Fleet Admirals. Below the Grand Admiral all government positions are held by commissioned officers.

Being able to vote or work in the government requires one to be in the military, these are known as full citizens upon completing their first two years of service. There isn't a mandatory active duty service requirement but there is a mandatory reserve requirement of 4 times a year for all able bodied permanent residents.

Society

The society is diverse and can vary in different places within the nation. However some things that are common is an extremely low rate of crime and a high rate of community participation. This is because the society drills into its citizens military values such as excellence, service, character, discipline, and more all for the sake of making more or less ideal citizens. The nation as a whole has a futuristic medieval feel to it because of Alchemy.

Even the public schools are military schools though only Officer Service Academies which are basically colleges require any commitment to the military. Though most students go into the Armed Forces in order to do their four years and become full citizens. There are private schools which resemble a normal Before Renaissance public school. (Think of their education system as very similar to JROTC and ROTC).

There's little discrimination which only exists between full citizens and those who aren't. Supernatural creatures or those who just are plain different from those around them are generally recognized as equal.

The Navy

Enlisted Ranks: Seaman Recruit, Seaman Basic, Seaman Apprentice, Seaman, Senior Seaman, Petty Officer, Petty Officer Third Class, Petty Officer Second Class, Petty Officer First Class, Senior Petty Officer, Chief Petty Officer, Master Chief Petty Officer

Officer Ranks: Ensign, Lieutenant Junior Grade, Lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander, Captain, Vice Admiral, Admirals(1-5 Stars), Fleet Admirals(1-5 Stars), Grand Admiral

Warrant Officers: Warrant Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, Master Chief Warrant Officer

The average Symphonian soldier has received military instruction from a young age, the result is that they’re naturally well trained soldiers. In basic training which each Symphonian goes through when they join some form of the Symphonian Armed Forces, they receive enough instruction in Alchemy to learn how to use military grade technology, and how to use some basic “inner energy” based Alchemy. They are of course taught so unarmed and armed mix martial arts.

The military of Symphonia is the Symphonia Navy, which all full citizens have and will serve in some capacity because it’s a requirement for full citizenship. This includes Supernaturals who often are placed in positions of value from the frontlines all the way to training those seeking to become Special Forces. There are of course things such as law enforcement and intelligence/defense agency.

Symphonia’s military is all basically one branch , The Navy, that operates in land, air, and sea. Every member is referred to as a Marine, each Marine normally has a combat ready service uniform and carries with them both a pistol and melee sidearm. Their equipment and specific training vary depending on what their job is. As the term Marine suggests, Symphonia's military is very naval based and involves a vast number of ships for both the air and on the sea, for certain types under the sea.

Enlisted

Marine Crewman: Marine crewman work on ships, defense control rooms, etc. they are basically those who do things like pilot ships, operate defense systems, communication systems, sensory systems, etc. They are the people who work on computer consoles staring at their screen understanding the information, reporting it to their commanding officer, and acting on it.

Marine Medic: They can be the first responders rushing to aid wounded soldiers on the battlefield to working in a med bay aboard a ship. These are rather intelligent individuals who are trained to work under more pressure than even a Marine Infantryman. In addition to a plethora of medical supplies they also receive extensive training in medical Ars Mundus. Depending on if they are something like a Battlefield Medic or not they may also receive the same kinds of equipment and training the type of units they work with do, so a medic who works with a Marine Infantry unit would receive a tech suit of armor and training on how be an Marine Infantryman.

Marine Infantry: Each enlisted Marine has a suit of hi tech armor. Marine Infantry are taught to fight in all sorts of situation and with all sorts of weapons. They have the capability to fight on land, in water, and in the air with its environmental adaption system and its flight system. The armor has food and water rations stored within a compression storage built into the armor. All this together makes Marines Infantry an all purpose soldier to be deployed to any sort of environment and situation. That is why they are the Marines and not called simply the army.

Each enlisted Marine Infantryman wears the same set of armor which shifts phases depending on primary weapon selection to ensure maximum efficiency, it even shifts its energy wings to match the weapon. The armors are equipped with a computer system designed to provide support to the user through such things as an HUD and communications management. The armor through the use of Alchemical interfaces with the user so they can operate it with thoughts, feelings, and impulses as well it enhanced their physical capabilities and sensory perception. The armor is basically powered and operated through the use of the user’s Alchemy, when the user becomes exhausted the armor also starts to lose power.

The primary weapons of the armor are generated from an energy matter conversion system built into the armor, ammunition as well is created by the armor this way. All primary weapons have firearm capabilities not just the ones that have the form of a firearms, though the ones in firearm form are able to firing varying ammunition. Secondary weapons are optional and can be attached to the outside of the armor. It’s common for a marine to carry both a pistol and a blade as secondary weapons. Marines also carry tactical equipment such as grenades and mines stored within their armor. There are many different unit types with their own specialties and weaknesses.

However not all marines are able to use all forms of the suit. All marines can use the basic form of the suit but depending on rank and specialty they can use more and different forms. Normal grade infantryman can use the basic form and for some on the higher end of that grade can use an additional form.NCO grade infantrymen are able to use up to 4 additional forms with SNCOs able to use 8. Specialists are outside this curve as they normally have the basic and their specialist form but can end up ranking up to an SNCO grade rank. Normal infantrymen cannot use forms meant for specialists.

Marine Mobile Infantry: The Symphonian military does not use tanks or fighter planes but instead uses the Mobile Infantry. The Mobile Infantry have the mobility of fighter planes and the firepower of tanks, there are even special models which are meant to eventually replace the role of a manned bombers but not drones. They generally use larger and more powerful tech suits than the normal infantry. The Mobile Infantry tech suits unlike the normal infantry tech suits come in all sorts of shapes and sizes depending on the situation. Some general traits are their ability to fight on land, in the air, and at sea despite being specialized of course for maybe one of the three.

Officers/Warrant Officers

To become an Officer the most basic way to do is learn how to properly use true Alchemy not just the inner energy based techniques. There are of course Officer training schools and such which specifically train soldiers on how to do that. The lowest Officer rank is Ensign which most officers start at. Warrant Officers are former Enlisted grade soldiers who become extremely skilled in the use of inner energy Alchemy, a particular weapon, a particular fighting style, or something of the sort. Both Warrant Officers and Officers gain the right to where custom combat uniforms and have custom equipment.

Commissioned Officers have to go through an officer training program or school(think OCS, senior level ROTC, or a Service Academy). While Warrant Officers skip this. Warrant Officers can go back and become Commissioned Officers.

Special Forces

The Special Forces are either humans who were accepting into this branch or Supernaturals. For humans in the Special Forces they are generally the ones using the newer and more experimental equipment. Different types of Supernaturals have different units, for example, werewolves would have their own unit separate from the normal humans. There are times when joint task forces between the different divisions of the Special Forces will be formed or times when Special Forces would have to fight alongside regular military forces.

The Elites

This is a status granted only by those in the Admiral grade or higher. Becoming an Elite removes you from the normal command structure, an Elite is able to order non Elites of a lower rank than themselves to do things but not normal soldiers of a higher rank then they are. But Elites, can’t be ordered by normal soldiers of a higher rank or other Elites. The only exception is if on a mission a team of Elites is assembled and a temporary chain of command is established for the sake of the mission. Elites are generally those who stands out among the other branches and possess something unique or uncommon about them. Elites are the best of the best and one must be an officer, warrant officer, or SNCO to even apply to become one for which they are examined by a panel of Admirals sometimes even up to as high as the Grand Admiral himself, who will accept or deny the prospective Elite. Elites will serve at their normal positions or jobs but can be requested or request to fill a different role. For example, an Elite's job could be to command a ship but he could end up being requested to lead a squad of Marine Infantryman into direct combat. So Elite's must be adaptable and capable to take on any role they are needed to take on.

R&D

The Research and Development division works endlessly with the Supernatural and Alchemy to develop new things for the Symphonian military. There are various projects which the brightest minds both Supernatural and Alchemy inclined can be assigned to. They don’t just develop new tech but also seek understand and expand theories behind different forms of Alchemy. The R&D also has a special project for using the implants of supernatural energies, forces, aura, bloods, flesh, or organs into humans to create supernatural super soldiers. They only use volunteers who then often become Special Forces or Elites depending on whether it was a one subject project or multiple subjects were made.

Players will be playing Enlisted, Warrant or Comissioned Officers in the Symphonian Navy 4th Fleet I expect with all the choices available for characters to vary a lot in background, rank, abilities, race, and more. The RP will start with Symphonia moving to claim The Emperor Crests, Godsends, and more to strengthen and expand their empire across the globe and other realms.
