“STRATEGY ROOM! YES, EVERYONE, COME TO THE ROOM OF STRATEGIZING!!!”

With his tone more obnoxious than aggressive, Erik shouted using the fourth makeshift megaphone he had constructed during his time at the Commune. Made out of leftover junk uncovered during expeditions, it too might vanish into thin air just like its three predecessors. Erik was loud enough as is, so anything that could magnify his volume needed to go… immediately.

“REVENANTS! SIDHE! HUMANS! TO THE STRATEGY ROOM! EVERYONE! DON'T CARE HOW YOU GET THERE! WALK, FLY, ROLL, SKIP, CREEP IN, HOWEVER! JUST GET THERE!”

The aged revenant continued down the long hallway marching over to the Strategy Room. Once he entered he took his place behind the table with a map on its surface. Instead of the Ruined City, there in front of him was a patchwork of several maps that Erik had put together to follow a trade route routinely utilized by the Commune. The route ran mostly on a two-lane road that avoided any unwanted traffic. The Lost and even the Provisional Government had little presence on it. The former, due to the population of revenants and humans being so low along it. The latter, due to it being perceived as not being worth the venture. The road itself did not have many stops for resources and was viewed as a chokepoint anti-government sorts could use to hit their convoys.

However to the Commune, and a few other groups that chose not to live under the Provisional Government’s thumb, the road was an opportunity to meet and trade at locations where the threat of being swarmed by Lost was nearly nonexistent. So why was everyone being gathered? Erik could simply send a few members of the group to go investigate. Pick three and then it would just be business as usual for the rest. There was something he needed to share with everyone. Erik had been in the business of keeping certain things buried, but he owed all of them this.

As each member entered, they were met with Erik’s forever smile. A mask he was using to create a positive atmosphere before delivering the bad news. For some, the news might not mean much, but there were others he was sure would be struck as deeply as he had been.

Cerise…

Greetings!

We're hoping to pick up a few players that might be interested in joining in on a Code Vein-inspired RP. We understand that jumping into an RP that has already started can be offputting so we have provided a summary of the events that have transpired so far to make the read-up minimal.

We are also aware that some have never played Code Vein and I will assure you that this RP is only inspired by the video game if anything. We have gutted out a lot of the lore to make it easier to digest for the unfamiliar but can answer any questions concerning differences for fans too!

C H A P T E R O N E
A NEW DAY

The Commune gets offered a job by the Provisional Government. They are asked to investigate a dying mistle somewhere in the Ruined City. They prepare and then travel to the city, deciding to leave Ionna behind, due to the potential danger of having a 13-year-old tag along. About an hour into the expedition they come across their first group of Lost. Poppy decides to incapacitate them using opium bombs. Her plan backfires when she’s pulled from the sky by an Infernal type Lost. The Commune ends up in a small-scale battle, ultimately defeating the Lost. Poppy, Dallas, and Vincent all sustain injuries. Poppy’s injury to her head causes her to be unable to move safely. They find a safe spot to recover.

After having rested, the Commune splits up in search of the Mistle. Akaia locates the Mistle in an abandoned house. Meanwhile, the other members are confronted by a Tsar Bomba. With their combined efforts they manage to subdue the gigantic Lost. Akaia manages to uproot the entire Mistle and the Commune successfully escapes the Ruined City.

Like any RP you'll have to get spun up with the initial OOC Post. Here you will learn about the Premise, Setting, Timeline of Events, Races, and Powers of the RP.

Currently, our character group known as the Commune is gathered within their home base which was formerly an observatory to decide who will be going to investigate the disappearance of another survivor group or remain to assist in uncovering the secrets of a wilting Mistle, a mysterious plant of that provides sustenance to Revenants.

When the door of the hotel room was only cracked open, Slick raised an eyebrow. He planted his hand onto the wall beside the doorway to comfortable lean in close to the elven priestess who obstructed his path with a password. A goddamned password! His lips formed into an amused grin.

“A password?” Slick questioned while nodding before glancing back to Leaf with a quick wink. Before he could answer, he heard Caelan hollering on the other side of the door. “Ain’t this soemthin’.” Slick feigned a disappointed sigh. The man liked a game every now and then, and he was honestly surprised the priestess could loosen up enough to make a joke out of things. “How ‘bout a hint, darlin’?” He repostiioned himself so he had his back leaning beside the door with his arms crossed at his chest. Slick craned his neck ove so he could continue speaking in a low tone. “If it’s the key to your heart, I got that… even if you can’t quite see it yet.” Slick’s grin was on full display for Leaf to see.

Maeryn’s mention of it being time for food caused Astra to reflexively glance at Myra with a grin. From the young dark elf’s observation, “Food” or more accurately “Foo!” was Myra’s favorite topic of discussion.

“The food here is a little different, Myra. More fish and the food just a lot more flavorful down south than any place else.” She entered the Surfside Cafe, keeping Myra between Maeryn and herself. The many eyes on herself were met with a warm smile. Astra oddly walked with her head held higher than usual, almost as if she was not bothered by the dirty looks coming her way. She comfortably took her seat directly across from Maeryn.

Racism. It was something she had experienced frequently during her previous travels across Avalia. Dark elves had been banished to Daka Island, so any that managed to venture out into the other kingdoms of Avalia were either under suspicion or lynched. Who would stick up for the subrace of elves that caused nothing but turmoil and war? Few. The dark elves. All because they could weave an aspect of the world that many naturally feared. Only accepted by the dastardly, the dark.

“Alaberry juice, please. I’m loving your look right now. Looks like something out of HD’s (Hanami Designs) catalog!” Astra complimented knowing well that the feline wasn’t wearing anything of that caliber. I wonder what that crazy bitch Yuka’s up to anyway with Roshmi the way it is… Probably… As if I could guess with that girl.

“Thanks, it’s something I put together myself! I wish I could afford HD stuff but-”

“Wishes don’t get you anything. Amas do.” Astra gave the demi-human a nod which was returned.

“Right.” And with that, the server departed to get their drinks.

“Don’t look so tense. You look like you sat on a knife Maerie.”

Darius carefully watched how Isolde reacted to the information dump provided by his brother. It was a lot to think about, and unlike he and Dante, Isolde wasn’t slowly spoon-fed Avalia’s current events. Her simplified summary of the information brought a smirk to his face until she mentioned being left for dead.

“I think we know just enough to scrape by,” he shrugged speaking honestly. “I’d say we’ve all been kinda lucky making it to this town.” Darius half turned to look Menzai’s way. “Hey Menzai, you know about any information hubs or a spot where we can get some details on this war?” Darius started addressing the others. “If we’re gonna find somewhere to move to after this, we need to know more about this place… and maybe about how we can help.”

Darius was beginning to get tired of stumbling through this world without figuring things out, he’d been there and done that on Earth. Avalia would be a different story. A new one.

After departing from the gym with Charlie, Viktor and his new acquaintance discussed Thiago. It was more like a line of questioning from Viktor that led to Charlie spilling the beans on being part of an independent and amateur group of heroes. This led to more sternly asked questions from Viktor before Charlie was saved by a phone call from Cecile who had coincidentally met with another team.

From what Viktor gathered, Thiago, Charlie, and Cecile were a trio that made up a superhero team that operated locally in Taos, New Mexico. They had been investigating the kidnappings to the best of their ability but fell short as they lacked resources. It wasn’t until recently that Thiago reached out to the Justice League unbeknownst to Charlie and Cecile. Charlie could not figure out why Thiago failed to say anything except for thinking he was going to try to secretly take credit for cracking the case himself. With Thiago now missing without a word, he was likely kidnapped like the other teenagers.

With the two teams coming together, Viktor was sure the extra manpower and access to abilities would aid in finding the kidnappers and perhaps even the young woman that was suspected to be behind it!

The team had decided on their objectives, and all without guidance from the Justice League. Zach had informed them he was very busy tracking down a lead, something Viktor did not believe. Whether or not the magician was telling the truth, Viktor accepted it since it meant he’d be away. Casper had been tasked with supporting Omen in their own quest of trying to find information.

The team had awkwardly split in two, mostly due to underlying tension.
Kassy and Ja sat at one table on one end of the cafe. Their table was a great vantage point as they were placed in a corner where they could see nearly everything except the entrance. Most patrons seated in the cafe would have to go out of their way to look in their direction while they could passively see plenty with a simple glance. Alisa, Aleen’a, and Viktor sat at a table that had a clear view of the entrance and was close to a window that could give them a good look at the parking lot.

The team had three main objectives: Case the cafe for the best places to install surveillance devices, watch for any suspicious activity, and gather any information available. Two security cameras installed in the cafeteria presented an opportunity to collect surveillance footage, but would also keep the team from acting overtly.

Viktor had been convinced to change his attire some, removing his gloves, jacket, and shades, while also untucking his shirt. Oddly enough, he did this with more reluctance than one might expect.

A server had approached their table, already asking what their orders would be.

“Tiramisu and a…” He almost ordered what was the norm for himself but with this type of mission, he could expand his horizons some. “Blonde vanilla iced latte,” He said as stone-faced as ever.

The Other Bandits

The snake demihuman, hissed when his whip failed to hit its mark. He relfexively moved to his right causing the knife to graze his left pauldron. He continued his advance to simply attempt to strike with his whip again.

Flanking crossbow bolts came flying in Kurois direction, but Uzul had moved himself quickly to intercept the ranged attack he had anticipated from the bandit who had ruined the ambush for those in his party. The bolts bounce off of Uzul’s stone hard hide. He had been trusted to take on two of the five bandits and he would be sure to do so effectively. Uzul snaned the five, trying to quickly choose who he’d take, but the bandits were quicker in making the decision.

The blue dragonborn and the pale=skinned orc made eye contact and nodded before encroaching on Uzul. The dragonborn approached from Uzul’s front, and the pale-skinned orc crawled swiftly from the rear before springing up for an attack. Once Uzul reacted to the other orc, the blue dragonborn would strike to kill the hard skinned foe.

The elven woman rushed forward with her rapier to aid the snake demi-human while the feline demi-human came around to find Kuroi’s blindspot and fire on him from afar.

The Iblis demi-human grunted as her attack missed Jomari due to the unsuspected slide he performed. She kept her her polearm from digging into the sand before being struck by the sand he fired into her chest. She fell back, but kept hold of her weapon.

Meanwhile, the monkey and hyena demi-humans came at Nuallán from both sides prepared to double team the light elf. The monkey struck low with a swing of his sword while the hyena swiped high with his two short swords.

The crocodile strut past the iblis demi-human who was still picking herself up from the sand.

“I gots dis runt.” The crocodile demi-human raised his shield and bat his sword against it.

“He’s usong strange magic!”

“I ain’t worried! Bring ya best runt!” He charged forward to bash Jomari with his shield. The rhino kept himself to the rear, but crouched down. A silver glow began to surround his body.

The the while, the scorpion demihuman crept from behind Jomari, the young man had placed himself in a vulnerable spot!

“Hmm…” Slick let out as he listened in on what Leaf had to say about the liberation of the large lioness held at Sturdy Stables. Leaf’s concerns about the dangers of such a job didn’t appear to faze Slick in the slightest. Sure, dealing with an extra overgrown pussycat that was likely just as vicious as a grizzly might have spelled danger but the man was just itching to get into something tonight. It was just how he was. The man sought adventure and was no stranger to trouble. It was because of this nature that the man seemed to be more comfortable in his skin than the other humans.

“Seein’ as I ain’t a cat, then I reckon it’ll be a one cat job whether or not I go.” Slick let a short-lived chuckle escape him before shaking his head as the two continued walking through the inn. “I’mma join you on this one Leaf. You see, I don’t know much about young Cale and Soph, but bein' hunted ain’t new to me. Hidin’ ain’t new to me. And I can almost say I’m married to takin’ things that don’t rightly belong to me. Cash, property, life, you name it…” He fell silent for a short moment before shrugging and chuckling again. “But I do a good deed from time to time. Like what we’re gettin’ into later this night. A touch selfish maybe, but still good.” The two were soon approaching the room where Aurora, Caelan, Sophie, and Alette were. If Leaf didn’t have anything to add, Slick would knock loudly on the door to the room. Not a pounding, but loud enough to cause the fluttering of one’s heart.
