As the two of them spoke about the description of the black bird they both seemed to see in one way or another, Kay quickly scrawled her pencil over the page, doing what they were describing. The wing span she sketched out filled the width of the page. "when you say a longer neck, like a Swan's neck length or a bit shorter?" she asked.
Kay looked at Trish when the kid turned to her and asked her about what she overheard. When she said she saw a big black bird in her dream last night, Kay rose an eyebrow. "Serena saw one when she traced the warning. Kids running away from it" she said to her. "what did you see in your dream about the bird? What did it look like?" she asked, sitting upright properly and grabbing her sketchbook and pencil, "maybe I can draw it from yours and Serena's descriptions" she suggested.
Kay nodded at his reply, wondering if there was a way for him to see it for himself or not. Anything that she was going to say was interrupted by Trish's return from the kitchen and hugging Serena and she couldn't help but smile at the action. Trish had so much wonder in her still which was endearing to see. She admired how the girl could still hold onto that childlike wonder and naivety after everything she's witnessed and been through.

Josh walked in behind Trish and smiled to himself at what he saw after he gave the idea. Trish's hugs always seemed to make him feel better mentally so he figured it would work for Serena as well. "got what you need" he told Serena holding out the tablets and glass of water to her.
Kay listened to everything she said, a look of shock was once again on her face. It sounded like their kids were in a lot of trouble and were desperate. "a black bird?" she asked in curiosity, she then looked at John, "have you heard of anything like that?" she asked him.

"she uhh, got hit with the magic by the tracing of the warning on the leylines. Got thrown backwards and dislocated her shoulder. But she's okay, just in. A little bit of pain." he explained as he got her a glass of water to go with the medication. "you know what might make her feel better even quicker? One of your hugs" he smiled to his sister.
Josh hated that he hurt Serena in the process but he knew there was no pain free way of putting a shoulder back into place. "sorry" he told her, letting her lean on him for a moment to breathe through the lingering pain as it subsided. "I can get you some pain killers to help whilst you let John and Kay know what you found out" he said to her, kissing rhe top of her head and heading to the kitchen area.

Walking in he smiled and went to his little sister, ruffling her hair. "she not being any trouble is she?" he asked Chas, to which Chas chuckled and shook his head. "nah, she's been good company actually" he replied to Josh as he saw Josh looking for something, "what you looking for?" "painkillers for Serena" "cupboard to the left bottom shelf" "cheers". Josh then went to the cupboard he was told and pulled out the bottle he needed.
When Serena and Josh came back Kay lifted her head off John's shoulder but she didn't fully move away from him. "you're weren't interrupting" she reassured Serena as John commented on Serena's state. "nah, she managed to trace the warning to your kid's time and the connection blasted her backwards" Josh spoke up as he came down the last few steps behind them and over to Serena, standing behind her slightly.

He tenderly held onto Serena's shoulder on the top and to the side slightly, "I'm gonna put it back in place on the cou t of three okay?" he warned her, "one....two..."and without saying three, he popped it back into place with a loud crack and pop as the bone went back into its socket. Kay winced at the sound, feeling glad she wasn't Serena in that very moment.

Chas smiled," that's sweet, but I'm sure they can cope without me for a little while. You need to be a kid for a while" he told her. "you only get one childhood kiddo, gotta make the most of it" he added.
Josh walked back with her, taking it slightly slow for her benefit as he knew they weren't far away from the millhouse. Even going slower it still only took under five minutes to get back. At the door, he opened it for her, letting her in first, "here ya go, get inside and ill set your shoulder in the main room" he told her.

Trish's seeming shock at being asked what she wanted to do didn't go amiss on Chas and he couldn't help but wonder how long it had been since she last got asked such a thing. "I can take you out to the shops, go to the cinema, do some other thing. Maybe I can see if Geraldine wants to join?" he listed a few ideas, deciding that Trish deserved to have a day where she was just a child after the bad dreams she had been having.

Kay listened to him reminding her of all the hope she had around, realising he was right. She had been so swamped in the doom and gloom of everything, she never really took notice of the positives around her. She looked up at him and lofted her head just enough to place a small quick kiss on his lips, "thank you for reminding me of that" she told him as she pulled away.
Josh nodded, "well when we get back to John's I'll put it back in place for you" he told her, walking her back to the mill house as the sooner they got back and put her shoulder back into place, the better it can heal up.

"Eh, he's known for doing a lot of stupid things for the sake of getting the job done. It's just who he is I guess" Chas shrugged, "but that was a tough time in Rome, that much I will say. Anyway, elts get away from the dark moments in JOhn's work life, what do you wanna do today?" he added.

John's answer wasn't the one she was expecting, she was sadly expecting a much less hopeful answer and it made her realise she was so used to being told bad news, that it was hard for her to expect hopeful news by people. "i hope you're right" she replied. "I just...I really need some hope in my life right now ya know?" she told him.

Lexi was also surprised that Sam declared he wanted to pop out as well, wondering if this was some ploy to just separate the two of them or something along similar lines. She felt like she knew Sam well enough to get an idea of his actions, but she was still relatively new in his life and couldn't say for sure if his declaration was some alterior motive or not. She also wondered if Sam was picking up on the fact her and Dean were getting close. She let Dean do the replying to Sam, deciding to use this moment to drink her coffee. Hearing him give a completely plausible excuse for Sam to not join the two of them getting the supplies, made Lexi get a flutter in her heart, something she hadn't felt in what felt like a long time.

Sam simply nodded at the reasoning for just splitting up and doing what each of them needed before rejoining up to head back. Dean's comment about burning when he steps outside made both Sam and Lexi smirk and snigger. For Sam it was such a typical Dean remark to make, which he took as a good sign and for Lexi, she could understand the remark from her own experiences. She noticed how it was seeming Dean wanted to kiss her as he left the kitchen, but styled it out effortless and casually before she felt the awkward pat on the shoulder as he exited for his room.

Sam noticed as well and couldn't help but be curious about it, waited until Dean was out of the kitchen and looked right at Lexi. "So, he seems to be coming out of himself since you've been around" he said in the most casual manner he could muster, trying to keep the accusatory tone out of his words, as he didn't want to outright assume at this stage that the two of them were either crushing on each other or desperate to be close in some manner or another. "I guess I just uhh, have that gift to help people out when they need. I guess going through the same grief situation helps him to be able talk or something?" she replied, matching his casual tone between mouthfuls of her coffee.

"Uh-huh, I guess so" Sam simply said back with a smile as he finished his own drink and put the mug down on the table. "I'm gonna go finish getting dressed myself, meet you in the war room?" he finally suggested, Lexi nodding in agreement, "sure!" she smiled, putting her mug in the sink when she finished her drink, watching Sam walk back to his room in a speed walk due to his room being the furthest away. Looking at the other mugs laying around, Lexi sighed with a smile, "damn boys and not cleaning up after themselves" she muttered to herself as she grabbed their mugs and put them in the sink also then washed them up.

---------------

By the time Dean was finished and heading back to the main room, both Sam and Lexi were leaning against the war table with their jackets on just talking about random mundane things whilst they waited for him. Despite their talking, Lexi still couldn't get the earlier make out session with Dean out of her mind fully, the moment replaying in her mind over and over. It felt like the more she tried to not think about it by distracting herself with the random chit chat with Sam, the more it became promiment in her mind.

She wanted so desperately to be happy again, but she didn't want to forget her fiancee either.
"agreed" Josh replied, seeing how she flinched due to her shoulder. "not only that we're gonna get you an ice pack of some kind for your shoulder as well as having me taking a proper look at it when we get back" he told her, concerned she may have dislocated it or something similar. Luckily for her, if she had dislocated it, he knew how to set it back.

Chas smiled and nodded, "he's tried to deny in the past but yeah really. If a kid is in need of help he don't hesitate to help. He once let himself get possessed to fight a monster that was stealing infants to save them." he told her without going into the gory details of what John actually went through. Not even those of them who were there and adults could barely cope with that time in Rome, so there was no way he was going to tell all the details to a child.

"I hope you're right" Kay simply said, staying put where she was as she felt safe. "John? Do you think there'll ever be a day something or someone won't want to hunt me down?" she asked, even though she was convinced she already knew the answer.
