Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

"Yeah, I'm doing okay. The adventure's been pretty good so far, though I'm hoping the good luck streak continues to tomorrow. I'm planning to get my first badge here in Highhill after a good night's sleep. Once that's done... I'm not sure where I'll head to next for this journey." Skylar explained, looking down in his hand at Celebrity's Pokeball. He wasn't sure about giving it to Vivia, actually. Not that he didn't like the idea, but he just wanted Celebrity with him for a little longer.

He took a breath, and he let Celebrity back out, looking over to Vivia for a moment. "Uh... sorry to get your hopes up, but I changed my mind about giving Celebrity up just yet." He felt a bit guilty, but after all Celebrity had done prior, he couldn't just give her up like that. Absolutely not.

The Jigglypuff waddled over to Skylar and glared at him. He stopped her glares by reaching down to pat her head.

"Anyway... yeah. As for everything else, there were a few Team Virtue people in the forest of Route 3 that thought we were poaching dragons because Vivia found her Goomy and I found Fruity there. They didn't put up too much of a tough fight, though, and me and Vivia handled them well." Skylar said as he gave a thumbs up. "I just wanted to check in on everything before I went to bed. I've got a big day ahead of me and I wanna be prepared for tomorrow. Speaking of that... I should probably get ready for bed. G'night professor!"

After Kalmia responded, Skylar hung up, and led the team to the small room the group was staying in for the night. Vivia probably had her own room, though, since it'd be slightly weird for Skylar and her to share a bed or something.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning strolled up, and Skylar was awake early with his team. He didn't want to wake Vivia up, but he left her a note that said he was going to train in Highhill a little more. He needed to get Smiley a few more levels, and maybe he could get the rest of the team a bit more experience to prepare them for what's ahead.
"Wingull?"
"Why are we up so early? Well, dad always said that the early bird catches the worm. If we're gonna take on the gym, we need to be as prepared as possible. After a little training and then the gym, we'll grab some lunch then head on our way." Skylar patted his starter on his head just as he was arriving to the same spot as yesterday.
"Alright guys! Just a little bit of training today before we take on this town's Gym!"
"WAAAUGH!" Digbie cried out as he began to be dragged through the dirt by the ROUS, the rodent making a beeline towards the forest so he could take the goblin away to snack on his giblets. He knew that all the others were trying various things to get that rat off of Digbie, though he knew he only had a moment to react. Was this it? Was this the karma for helping kill Rattleskull? Was this his demise?
"NO!" Digbie shouted, looking at himself and casting a Shield II, just for protection's sake in case any of his friends accidentally hurt him in the process of freedom. He had to be gaining magic back at an incredible rate with Earth Vein since he had nearly his full torso against the ground. Now, with some protection, he had to break free from this ROUS so he didn't take the full blast from Torrent's or Oberon's attacks.
... though, something came back to his memory. He remembered that he had Stone Shot II, and he remembered that he used it with Synergy back with Rattleskull... what if he could do that again? Bringing his leg up into the sky, Digbie used Stone Shot II using his foot as a vector for his deliverance, and... wherever he'd hit the ROUS, as ammo. With any luck, he could stop the ROUS in its tracks, hopefully with it releasing Digbie from it's clutches and then getting swamped by everyone else.
"I said you'd regret it!" Digbie repeated as he brought his foot down towards the ROUS.
"My, this has been a fine meal, but I feel we should let our guests to retire to their room to freshen up some after the long journey here. Really I should have offered first, but the timing was so perfect..." Lorelai said, rising from the table as the maid's darted in, whisking away the remnants of their meal without complaint. Her expression was bubbly as she turned to their guest, extending her arm out in offering to lead the bard inside. Arm in arm she took Akiko up a flight of carpetted stairs that sank an inch with their every step and down well appointed halls dominated heavily by shades of red and a dulled gold accenting the many fabrics and tapestries.
"We don't have guest quarters, so you'll be lodging in the same wing as Eleonor and myself. We're actually just two doors down." The knight said, leading Akiko in to a lavish suite, it's opulence outweighed only by the over-riding philosophy of comfort is king. Eleonor could not help in displaying her wealth as due her station, but she made certain her most cherished home was one of creature comforts. Lorelai wore a wistful smile as she eyed the sheets of Akiko's bed before her gaze turned to empty armor stand propped before the window. "This was my room before I came to share Lady Eleonor's, actually. It will serve you well."
Akiko followed behind, cautious of the generosity of Lorelai all of a sudden. It was polarizing to see this commander turn from such a tough looking customer into this generous host to someone who was foreign to Akiko. It made her hesitant, though she did continue with the act for a little longer, if only to see where this would continue. What was even more surprising was at the end of the walk they had arrived in a fancy room, one that she wasn't expecting she'd ever stay in. It was quite literally a room fit for a queen, and it was staunchly decorated in the finest of luxuries available to... really, anyone.
"Wow... t-this is quite something. Certainly not something I've ever seen." Akiko was shocked. She was surprised that these two would offer such luxury to her. She didn't even know what Rivenwood was before today, but now she's in with the most powerful people in an entire region... though, for how long "Hold on... what do you mean by it will serve me well? By the sounds of that, I'd say you've taken a liking to a mere bard such as myself."
"Th-Think nothing of it. I only meant this is a fine place to rest come the evening. We may take pride in offering our serving staff fine accomodations, but they wouldn't be appropriate for a guest." The knight stammered, turning away from Akiko as she absently scratched at her cheek. Her entire posture had shifted, making her seem so much smaller in comparison to the woman who had led the bard upstairs, even with the armor rattling against her frame.
"You're a very fine lady in your own right, but I have Eleonor and, well, I very much doubt one would have cause to want...this." Lorelai gestured to herself, calming her beating heart with a loud exhale and turning to Akiko with a strained smile. "Was there anything you needed? The maids should have left everything fully stocked, but if there are any requests I'll bring them down personally."
"There's nothing I need, other than you not being so hard on yourself," Akiko's face washed into a smirk as she sat down on the bed, watching Lorelai all the while. "Some bards are known for their loaded linguistics, and while it's true I might have swindled a few tavernkeeps in my time trying to come here, I am very sincere when I do say you are quite attractive in your own right." She flopped back onto the bed, her hair sprawling out on it beside her as she kept looking. "So... I guess what I'm asking you personally, is to stop being wrong, and accept that you're radiating in your own way. A way different to... is Eleonor referring to Lady Asgard? I'm afraid I've never heard her first name."
As she waited for a small response, Akiko pulled out her Smitten Kitten card and fumbled around with it in her hands for a little bit. It was a little perplexing to her, she had to be honest, but she could... absorb it? Maybe she should try that. After all, who doesn't like a cute catgirl to talk to?
The knight paused, feeling conflicted as the bard flattered her with that same sincerity Lorelai had been eating up all day. It seemed only polite to refuse such things as Akiko's obligation to say to her host, but a small voice inside her reveled in the praise and left her blushing while the Bard got comfy on the bed. "I, umm, Asgard is Lady Eleonor's official title. Her given name is Eleonor. Most people only know the former, and she is a special person to me as well, but Lady Eleonor is the one who I serve outside my official duties..."
She paused, looking now to Akiko and finding her twirling a curiously ornate card. Wanting a closer look she came to sit on the opposite side of the bed, leaning in to see what looked to be a cat girl of all things. "Some sort of tarot card?"
"... um... not exactly." Akiko answered before she thought about thing. Eleonor's memories had tomes in them, which seemed to contain some amount of magical energy within. Who's to say the card she was holding was different? "The people around here use tomes for magic, if I'm not entirely mistaken. This is somewhat like that, though it's slightly different... and I've never used this before, but there's a first time for anything, right?"
A moment of hesitation passed before Akiko brought the card down onto her chest, pressing it to her softly before trying to understand how to absorb cards. Did she just... think it? How does absorbing a card work...? Her questions would quickly be answered as the card shimmered in a pinkish glow, fading away quickly into nothingness before Akiko's head became adorned at the top with a pair of cat ears, appropriately scaled up to match the size of her head and face. A bit lower on her body, a long tail curled up over her legs and knees, staying still excluding an occasional flick to seemingly find a better position.
"... I-I'm going to be honest...." Akiko said before she looked at Lorelai again. "I thought that was going to hurt. A lot."
"Well, how can I turn down an offer of retelling my travels from two of such high prestige and radiance?" Akiko asked, internally panicking at everything that was going on. What would she tell them?! The only things that she could really speak on were the weird tavern she saw and all of Eleonor's lif- wait a second... that might work? It was certainly a kind of history that Akiko knew of and could likely speak about, though it might not be filled with the best places to describe... then again, this world had to be shrouded in magical essence, or at least, that's what the past while had told her. Maybe she could just tell them about Miso City? Bah, she had to think as she talked.
"Well... there was a little place called the Rexicorg that I believe the radiant Commander Lorelai had asked me about earlier. While I'm still trying to find the poetry that would match such a place, I suppose that telling a little bit about it couldn't hurt." Akiko pondered aloud before taking a small tankard of beer besides the girls, taking a small swig, and placing it back down gently. Now... was the floating islands what the Rexicorg was full of?
"The place was... honestly, intimidating. The aura it radiated onto any nearby travelers was powerful, though to some people such as my cohort Rose, it was a ground for desperate desire. We had heard legend of the Thirteen Heroes and their relics being stored there, and as such, Rose was desperate to get in there and find one to call her own. As much as me finding my own intrigued me, I quickly suggested that we shouldn't, since it didn't seem that the locals were too keen on letting us stay there for long. Regardless, we managed to sneak a little bit of a peek at some of the sights there. There was a lot of overgrown flora, which certainly made the Rexicorg just that much more beautiful. A place unable to be broken by man's grasp for centuries, if you ask me, and I've still yet to think of the proper words to describe it." Akiko thought for a moment, acting like she was deep in thought before finally speaking. "... one could compare it's beauty and radiance very much to both of yours, milady Asgard and Commander Lorelai."
Akiko let that hang in the air before she sat back, taking another swig of beer before she smiled. "... and you weren't joking about the beer. It's quite pleasant after the long travels that I've been through today with my cohorts. I truly wish that they had come to be at this lunch with us, but alas." she lamented, placing her tankard back down and smiling at Lorelai and Eleonor.
"I also have tales of my home, as well as my experience at this strange and bizarre tavern along the road here, if you really wish to hear about them, be it now or later... honestly, this entire journey has been one big bizarre adventure for me. Not one that someone of my own background should've ever had the luxury to go on."
"Uh, actually, I'm one of the more knowledgeable players on the mechanics of this game. I've spent hours writing things down about how the drops and EXP sharing work, though even that seems to scratch the surface." Pestilent explained as she peeked over the cover to watch her drone. Good, still up and running with good health. It might not last super long against things, but as long as it kept up with it's status inflicting then Pestilent should be alright.
"'scuze me one second..." Pestilent asked as she flicked on her channels to all teams. Due to her connections with every other guild leader, she could
“Any healers nearby, focus on Saffron. We need her back at full hp as soon as we can. Everyone else, let’s try and blast a hole in that drone defense but keep a few alive. I get the feeling that killing all of them will trigger another nova attack or worse.”
Royal Ranger... or at least, that's what the player handle said.
"P.E. here. Not a healer, but I'll give her a good amount of shield so the healers can heal unfazed." Pestilent explained before she retargeted her drone's shielding potential onto Saffron completely. All she could do then was let the healers work, though she figured that maybe going towards the big wall of drones was a good idea. Her drone flew over there with unwaivering speed before it shimmered a sickly green color, a wave of energy being cast out at every hostile drone around it as well as the Raid Boss itself.
>Unfinished Agony used. Recharging...
"Sorry, was micromanaging," Pestilent turned back to Black Cat to provide some explanations. "I haven't worked out the specifics for Raid Bosses yet, since they're semi-rare and I'm normally keeping my faction in line, but from what I understand it's both a Faction-based Contribution and an Individual Contribution to gauge how much XP and what kind of drops you get. The Faction that does the most work through support and damage gets a big bonus to XP, while your individual contributions to the fight earn you a solid amount of XP as well. Same goes for drops." She explained, her tone almost like she had explained this a hundred times before, though she might've actually done that. "You will probably want to get away from the fight after it's over, though. Red players do like to kill newbies off to steal their loot at the end of a big battle..."
"And you, bunch of tryhards, get done with this already so that I can shoot you down. I'm going to die of boredom if I have to wait any longer,"
Graphite Daze
"... like her. Graphite's notorious for being that guy." Pestilent commented. She was blunt about it, and really didn't care if Graphite was listening. Graphite had to know that part of the reason this boss was going down was the fact that everyone's status effects just got reset by Pestilent, so killing her would just be a hindrance.
Pestilent's eyebrow rose at the mention of breaking immersion. "I'm not much into the roleplaying, actually. I only do that so the others fall in line. You'd be surprised how many pe-"
“It looks like even in these pestilent times, love blooms on the battlefield. How cutsey, how sweet, how…uncalled for. But the people love that lovey shit so keep on going!” Evidently, her drone was pointed at Black Cat and Pestilent Emerald, the Yellow Deputy. “The votes are in and we’re already got a runner-up for best ship in the game! The crowd wants a cheer and a kiss!”
Fucking Gudanko
"Bite me, Gudanko!" she shouted. The nerve of some people...
"HEY GUYS! SORRY I'M BRINGING COMPANY!" Digbie hurriedly said as he thought of something. He was back with his friends, meaning that fighting this ROUS would be a lot easier to do now with some support, as long as he kept everyone from taking too much damage. It seemed like he was the doctor of the group, but he wasn't going to be able to do much with his own strength until a quick survey of the group told him that he could probably Earth Wall under himself without impeding the rest of the group... but just in case, he could use some security too.
So that's what he did. Before anything, Digbie cast on himself a Shield II, just in case the ROUS caught him. Then, with his newly acquired Earth Wall II, he cast it underneath himself to the point where he was sure it'd slow the ROUS down, if not hurt him from running into it, which hopefully four inches thick and as tall as Digbie. Once that was done, Digbie turned around and cast another spell. He wasn't able to dual cast, but he could switch quickly to keep himself on his toes... at least until Digbie needed to recover some mana.
"Jehanne! Help protect us with your radiance and with this Sacred Ground!" Digbie chanted, inadvertently using Spell Chant to buff his Sacred Ground II. While the spell was activating, Digbie reached into his bag with a free hand to pull out a new weapon.
System : Digbie
"You're gonna regret this!" Digbie said as he raised his Broken Shield towards the ROUS.
"Hm?" she raises her eyebrow as she looks at you fumbling around with your gear and arm...
... actually, speaking of that, you notice that it's completely and utterly trashed. Not beyond repair, but if you tried to fix it... you might take a LONG time only to not actually make it any better. Your attack did a mighty number on Grox, but it arguably did much more to your arm.
>Metal Enhanced Arm
- Severely Damaged
- At your current level of expertise, you could attempt to repair the arm. Failing such an action will result in the arm breaking beyond repair.
- You have the materials! You can attempt to repair!
System - You
(Stealing the System idea from my GM of an amazing setting. Hopefully it helps keep you on track a little better with planning things.)
As for your inventory, you have what you have. Spare parts, various trinkets, and a few tools. Interestingly enough, there's also a book in your bag. You don't remember that being in there, though due to the large blue stone in it's cover one could imply that it's a magical tome. Interesting.
As soon as Digbie felt the sudden approach of a Dire Rat due to Tremor Sense, he slammed his book closed and thought for a split second. Tons of things rushed through his head as he turned to stare at the Dire Rat leaping towards his throat. It was almost as if time had slowed down that he realized he didn't have much to do in defense here that would result in him not being in some sort of mortal danger. This thing was like a bear to the Demiblin, and he was afraid.
In that moment, he couldn't help but have an instinctual response in his head. Fight, or Flight? Which would he choose? How would he escape this situation and live to see the sunrise tomorrow? Could he even do this alone? How strong was this rat anyway? Could it actually kill him in one massive chomp at his throat, or would it miss and have to nibble some of the dirt? Tons of questions that he couldn't answer, but he did know the answer to one of them...
Flight.
He didn't have long to react, so with a quick breath Digbie ducked down and lunged in the direction he was heading initially, his book being clutched under his arm all the while. He just barely managed to leap out of the way of the Rat's gaping maw, and it was evident that he wouldn't be able to keep dodging forever. Running though was certainly a possibility, since he was so close to the others that if he just made it close enough he could probably get there and be safe.
It seemed like the rat wasn't planning on missing, so as it skid across the dirt behind Digbie in an attempt to regain its footing, Digbie got a head start on his beeline. He didn't care for reading about Jehanne at this immediate moment since he could do that after he survived his encounter, but he knew he needed to get out of there! A last look over his shoulder towards the Rat allowed just enough time for Digbie to get his analysis off, going for a Monster Analysis, Material Analysis, and Magic Analysis all on the Rat in case it could teleport and just off him easy.
"J-Jehanne protect me!" he choked out as he kept running, a hand pointed at the ground underneath him as he used Earth Wall. He needed to buy himself some time to keep this rat at bay so he could get back to base, and with any luck the wall he made would help him make some distance over the Rat.
With all he could do out of the way, Digbie knew that the only remaining thing he could do at that point was flee. Just in case he couldn't get all the way back, he took a deep breath and shouted towards the camp. "TORRENT! OBERON! ASH! HELP MEEEEEEE!"
"Cool, glad I wasn't the only one! I've really just been spending the day trying to find some new friends." Skylar opened before stepping back to reveal the current team, including Celebrity. One by one, Skylar introduced each of his new friends to Kalmia.
"Anyway, I wanted to ask a few things. So... uh... I guess I'll start there." Skylar said as he returned Celebrity to her Pokeball, hopefully just for a little bit.
"So... I wanted to give Celebrity to Vivia, and I wanted to withdraw the Goomy I just caught. Do I just... give Vivia Celebrity's Pokeball before you send me my Goomy? I-I'm sorry, I'm just not sure how this works since I'm a little new to it all."
(Assuming everything goes off with a hitch, Skylar'd give Celebrity to Vivia and then have Fruity join the party.)
"My other question was if you could somehow route the Pokemon I catch to my Dad's lab in Freecape, just so he can do some research and my Pokemon have a place to be when they're not with me in my party." Skylar asked as he scratched at Mac's head just a little bit, causing the Torchic to chirp happily in Skylar's arms.
"Yish scritchies! I wuvs the scritchies!!!"
Hopefully with that question answered, Skylar would be able to ask his second-to-last question without being so bummed.
"I've got some things I recorded that you should probably see." In some way or another (that we can come up with later), Skylar sent the recording of Valen and himself being harassed by those Grunts in the shrine, and he also sent over that picture of Entei that he snapped on the farm. Hopefully both of those could be useful to Kalmia.
"Last question, promise... how's it going?"
"Okay... time to put the book down for just a moment." Digbie said to himself, doing exactly what he just thought. It was time for him to make a decision regarding what to do. He didn't really mind possibly crossing paths with the creature in the cave, as he felt now more than ever that he could reliably defend himself alone if threatened. That being said, possibly avoiding a tangle would be a good idea, just so he could conserve his energy for the time being, if only for a little bit.
With that, Digbie put his book back in his bag, reached down to pull off his sandals (just temporarily) and he looked at the stream. He waded across it once before, and he felt confident he could do it again with little problem. That being said, while he was in the stream there'd be no doubt that his Tremor Sense probably would pick up on the current, so turning it off for the moment wasn't a terrible idea for Mana Conservation, though he kept it on in case there was a new sudden dip in the stream as he walked. He'd hopefully be able to see it if he did.
With everything set, Digbie stepped forward and began to wade through the stream. Just in case, the Demiblin used Earth Wall to block himself from feeling the full blast of the current. With every step he took, he stayed vigilant and careful. He really didn't want to have to sling a Mana Orb at something before he got back.
If he got to the other side safely, he'd put his sandals back on, pull his book back out, and keep reading it for all the knowledge he could.
