Current The dot over a lowercase i and j has a name! It's called a tittle, which is a noun meaning "a tiny amount or part of something". Like the dot over an i or a j.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO and 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books for over 48 years. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge on the subject to include personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 34+ years, but only got into forum-based Role Playing about fourteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons (Edition 1 & 2). Later editions came out after I quit that game. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts. I love doing this form of role play, especially since I have a solid foundation on the past.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport three years ago. :(]

In July, I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government.

Send me a PM for a Role Play.

Jimmy Wu

Jimmy Wu returned to his hotel room after the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight. Jimmy made sure to fight as himself, someone without any unnatural advantage when the bout was public like tonight. He remained in control and overcame his opponent with some difficulty, but nevertheless won the match by a two-point difference. He felt he did well, refraining from beating himself up over any missed opportunities. He knew he would miss a few from time to time, intending to work on the scenarios he perceived in this latest bout.

Instead of ordering room service, Jimmy wanted to go out to a local restaurant for a late-night meal. He wanted to be around people, rather than in the seclusion of his hotel room. He stepped out to the street, hailing a cab. The taxi driver worked his way through the busy streets unaware of who the man in his back seat was. Shortly after Jimmy arrived in front of his destination an unmarked navy-blue van pulled up behind him. The side door opened. He remembered smelling almonds and then the scent of lavender before he fell asleep. The drugs were quick, taking him by surprise. The men who drugged him, heaved him into the back of the van, speeding away as fast as they could. His limp body was fairly light for the well framed men in black. No one on the street even noticed that an abduction has just occurred.

@Gunther You may like to up that teleportation limit to eight. That way you can be sure that the whole team can travel. Otherwise, I'm approving you.

I adjusted the Character Sheet to show Jimmy can summon up to 8 people before he is too tired to try again and moved the CS to the Characters tab.

I hope I am not too late the party. Honestly, I like @Burning Kitty's idea of the Frost/Dixon Sisters. I watch The Gifted.

I have an Asian martial artist who has a teleportation ability similar to that found in the 2008 movie, "Jumper".

EDIT: Submitted for your review...

You have a very interesting RP idea here, shamrocknroll. I know you mention a few relevant flicks, but the one I pictured while reading your IntChk is Mel Gibson's (1999) Payback, which might be a good title for the RP.
Baldric Durant

“All right ye fucking cunts, gather ‘round,” Baldy called the men of his lance. He sat on a stump waiting for the group to form up, there were only nine of them. “Where the fuck is Webster?” Baldy announced, then mumbled, “proly off rubbing the bell end agin.” Podrick Webster sauntered over to the group after a few minutes, “git yer arse over here ye wanker.”

“Hold yer tether, Baldy, I was usin’ the netty,” Podrick spoke up.

Once the lance was assembled in front of the Northerner, he spoke in his usual subdued tone. “We’ve thrown our lot in wid that cunt, Howard of Northall. Ye kin espect us to be fightin in a fortnight. The Lieutenant wants us to work on building the defenses. Git yerselves spades and picks. We’re headin’ to the mines.”

“Bloody Hell,” Craig MacDonald mumbled as the group got up and headed to retrieve the pioneer tools. Along with several other lances, they would work on digging a trench and a series or redoubts along the perimeter they would defend from during the upcoming battle. Baldric gave the battle very little thought. He honestly hoped it would not happen. He worked quietly, digging into the rocky soil.

My guy will be an 18 year old peace lovin'-shit-fer-brains with no fucking clue what he is doing. His dad would not allow him to dodge the draft exclaiming, "Maybe you'll learn what its like to be a man for once!" as he slammed his way out the door heading to the van that would take him to the airport and then onto Ft. Benning, Georgia for Basic Combat Training.
Sorry I've been out guys, just got out of the hospital. I've got a case of pneumonia that's been kicking my @ss quite literally.

Get well soon, bro!
I posted the battle. At my writing, every unit on both sides has been or is currently engaged in the fighting except for Lord Rennault/Lord Kayne's Steel Hawks. There is a battle raging between the river and the high rough ground @LordLinguinie described. I do hope I have not over extended my bounds. But no one has written in awhile. It needed to happen. The battle has not ended. You can insert your character where you feel they are located.

On another note, my father-in-law died of lung cancer yesterday. My wife is a wreck and her family are all coming together. I have a difficult time engaging in this hobby during the week anyway. I should quit, but I still love it thoroughly!

I don't want it to die either, but RL has me by the short hairs.

This comment was made 4 days ago because I knew my wife's father was going to die soon.
