As [Warcry I] ticked over into [Warcry II], a smile crept across Jason's face; if his math was correct, he only needed to rank up three more skills to reach level 7. He was so close.... He could almost FEEL it.  As he estimated [Bounce] was nearing rank I, whereas [Meditate], [Mana Orb], and [Shield] were already halfway done.  However, just as Jason began his meditation; actively pulling the surrounding mana into himself, life decided to fuck with him yet again, as a glaringly bright [Fireball] tickled his dormant sense of sight, and sent him a rather irritating notification.

WARNING! AN INTRUDER HAS ENTERED THE DUNGEON! AN INTRUDER HAS ATTACKED!
Dungeon:Jason

Fucking great.

With a sigh, Jason's senses snapped back to active duty, just in time to see  Dire_Rat_A charge aggressively at Asteria and Mama Rat.  Quickly coiling himself like a viper using [Limited Shapeshift I]  before launching himself between the two parties.  Lashing out to tightly grab onto the scruff of Dire_Rat_A's neck with a psuedopod, Jason scolded his new subordinate as he held them back, "Dire_Rat_A! Stand down-- and that's an order! These two are not enemies!" he growled like one might do when training an aggressive dog, as he gestured to Asteria and Mama Rat, "Anything these two do has my DIRECT approval and is always in the dungeon's best interest... In fact, from now on you can consider Asteria as the Mid-Boss of this dungeon."

(In the event he fails to grab Dire_Rat_A, just assume Jason continues to block its path until successfully telling it off... And yes, if it tries to go around him, Jason will move to block its path.)

Releasing the poor, confused animal, Jason grumbled angrily as he approached the remainder of the stash, absorbing four crystals to bring him to full MP, and stowing the other three within himself for later.  Snatching four healing herbs from his garden, Jason approached Danny and Asteria, "Well, since some asshole has decided to start tossing fireballs in here, we need to go make  sure they dont kill off our entire dungeon defense force... Danny, find Ed and bring him to meet us at the dungeon entrance.  Asteria, you and mama rat should stick with me, I'm not sure if the dungeon still sees you as a threat, so I may need to manually tell off the assimilated mobs.  Now let's go! There's no time to waste!"

Using [Limited Shapeshift I] to curl into a ball, Jason raced as fast as he could to the entrance.  Pushing himself harder than ever before to close the gap.  Hopefully, he'd get there in time to stop a fight that would likely end in the invading party's favor.... Why the fuck couldnt the core accept one more clause in those goddamn orders? That was a real kicker, but it was too late now... Now he had to fix it.

Though somewhat annoyed that the Skeleblins had failed to carry out his orders, actually being able to see a full display of everything under his control, as well as a co-ordinate map of the entire cave was an incredible boon. Perhaps the most interesting of all was the Dungeon_Stats, showing not only the progress of the dungeon to level 2 and how it may be further progressed, but that a hidden boss resided within the cave. Jason had little doubt that the hidden boss was Undine, the animated sword that had popped up on the initial menu when first accessing the Dungeon interface. Quickly rolling out of his tunnel to catch the three Skeleblins before they could wander off, Jason issued them new orders once again, "Skeleblin_003! Your new designation is Leonidas! Now, Leonidas, Gawain, Y'tahl-- I have a task for you three, somewhere near coordinate H-10, there should be a large, flat, rock covering three goblin corpses. Near this rock, should be a club, and two spears. Gawain, you equip the club, Y'tahl, you equip the [Badly-Made Stone Spear], and Leonidas, you equip the other spear. Once that is done, return here to me. In the event that you cannot find any of the items, return here to me. Now go! There isn't much time!" hopefully, this time the three skeleblins would be able to execute the order. At this point, it didn't seem like there was much time left to prepare for the meeting with Crispy, and his two status conditions had yet to end. Frustrated with the lack of progression, Jason summoned his skill window, "Display Skills and Level Progress."

Thankfully, he had managed to get Meditate up to the half way point so far, meaning that it wouldn't take long for him to complete it's development. In that moment, Jason was struck with an idea, maybe, just maybe, by trying to exhaust his stamina before attempting to meditate, he could more effectively grind the skill! Honestly, it was worth a shot. First he lightly bounced his body up, and down, building up more springy power with each small bounce; not enough to make him leave the ground, but enough that it just approached that point. As Jason's bounces reached the point of leaving the ground, he used [Limited Shapeshift I] to compress himself like a spring as he landed on the ground, before launching himself back up as hard as he could, letting a small [Warcry I] as he did so. After five big bounces like this, Jason took it a step further; this time, he compressed himself as much as he could-- and proceeded to compress himself more. He pushed [Limited Shapeshift I] so hard that it hurt, and then used that energy to bounce into the air again letting out a full [Warcry I] with his strained effort. Though it wasn't enough to fully exhaust him, this was as far as Jason was going to take it; as he was beginning to run short for time. Letting himself bounce to a stop, Jason settled himself, and began to meditate, resting in both body and mind as he waited for his companions to finish getting their breakfast.

PALIBRO HATH RETURNETH

@Lucius Cypher@Rune_Alchemist

After a long day of training with Ashe and the other militia trainees, nothing came close to the comfort of a hearty meal, accompanied by a good drink or two. So far, the militia had welcomed him with open arms; despite his status as a newcomer to the town. Honestly, having a place to belong felt good, and training alongside equally driven individuals made it even better. Though it didn't have all the comforts of home, nor any family to speak of.... Kael knew that he was going to like it here. Not long after reaching the tavern and redeeming his voucher for meal and drink, enjoying the rather strange music of the turtle man and the company of his peers, something caught the young half-elf's eye. Call it what you will; instinct, intuition, a gut feeling... Like a sixth sense Kael noticed a somewhat familiar looking girl talking to Petr; one of the other trainees he had sparred with earlier when he had been practicing grappling techniques. Though it was hard to pick up on, Kael could tell something was wrong, and that she seemed to be asking Petr for help (which he seemed all to eager to provide).

"I'll be right back guys, save my spot." he said softly to the others as he rose from his seat. Just as Kael was about to make his way over to offer whatever assistance he could, he noticed a rather strange white haired girl with a devil's tail walking out of the tavern. Quizzically he looked the strange girl over, trying to discern her race, but quickly shrugged it off and continued what he was doing (ANALYSIS SUBJECT TO CHANGE, WAITING TO HEAR FROM LUCIUS). Thinking nothing of it, Kael approached Petr and the girl, "That was an excellent bout we had earlier Petr!" Kael chuckled as he gave his fellow trainee a friendly slap on the back, "In fact, I'd say I owe you a drink!" Though it wasn't his main reason for coming over to them, the last thing Kael wanted was to appear as if he meant to 'cock block'; as some might say, his fellow militiaman. Besides that, Petr certainly had been an excellent sparring partner, and deserved a drink regardless. Kael's smile dropped to a neutral expression as he glanced between Petr and the rather well dressed girl he had been talking to, "Is there something wrong? Anything I can help with?"

Between Gawain's horrifically awkward sprint, and the seemingly negligible progress on fully removing his mana disorder; it was clear that Jason had his work cut out for him.  However, just as he was about to issue Gawain new instructions, an absolutely mortified Ed rushed past him and fell into the water.  The bizarre act caught Jason completely off guard as he began to laugh at Ed's antics, "Don't worry Ed, these skeletons all work for me! One of the perks of being the dungeon boss I assume..." he called out to comfort his panicking friend, before turning to address all three of his fellow reincarnators, "Speaking of which, I have news for all of you regarding the dungeon.  According the core, there's several things we can do to upgrade the dungeon; repair it, secure and increase resources, feeding the core mana, and rallying the currently assimilated creatures..." Jason paused for a moment while he let the others process the information, "As of right now, reparations are at 35%, and assimilation has reached 26%... Along with this new knowledge, I am now able to access new capabilities within the core.  This may not mean much in preparation for our upcoming meeting with Crispy, but I figured that letting you all know would be a good idea..... Oh! One more thing-- cave resources are back to the level they were when we first woke up, so keep that in mind! Now, if you'll excuse me for a moment, I'm going to have our skeletal friends here bring us some resources we can work with."

Turning to the other two skeleblins that he had yet to name, Jason addressed his new subordinates, "Skeleblin_003! You are to be henceforth designated as Leonidas, or 'Leo' for short. Skeleblin_004! You are to be designated as Y'tahl." he declared as he cleared his 'throat', "Alright... Gawain, Leonidas, Y'tahl, the first thing we need to do is arm you three. In that direction, he began, pointing his staff toward the burial site of the Brawny Team, "You should come across a large, flat, rock covering three goblin corpses. Near this rock, should be a club, and two spears. Gawain, you equip the club, Y'tahl, you equip the [Badly-Made Stone Spear], and Leo, you equip the other spear. Once that is done, return here to me. In the event that you cannot find any of the items, return here to me. Make sure you three stay as a group, and prioritize your survival above all else; if something threatens to destroy you, run back here as fast as possible. DO NOT ATTACK ANYTHING UNLESS IT ATTACKS YOU FIRST. Fight only if it is absolutely necessary, or if you have secured the weapons and are certain you can win.... Now go!"

As his three skeleblin warriors shambled off to complete their new objective, Jason rolled up to the core, bracing his mind again. Reaching out to the heart of his domain, the budding dungeon master tested his new authorities, "Core, open DUNGEON MENU-- display MONSTER_ROSTER, MONSTER_ASSIGNMENT, DUNGEON_MAP, DUNGEON_RESOURCES, and DUNGEON_STATS."

Jason snapped awake with a start; relieved to no longer be drowning in the darkness of his nightmares. However, waking up to a barrage of of notifications was definitely going to take some time getting used to. Fortunately, it appeared that the Mana Disorder was on the verge of wearing off despite the fact that Mana Burn continued to persist. If he was lucky, one; if not both status effects would be taken care of before he had to meet Cripy for what was more than likely a trap... If the goblin even intended to show up in the first place. Looking around, Jason noticed several things; someone had planted more herb seeds while he was asleep, both Danny and Asteria were still asleep, and Ed had yet to return. Furthermore, it appeared that the core had brought him two more skeletons as well as a dire rat (whom Jason assumed to be DIRE_RAT_A). Had the Skeleblins tended the garden by command of the core? Or was it perhaps the work of some other mob under the Core's influence? Either way, it was most definitely the work of the core. Speaking of which, Jason still needed to finish developing [Dungeon Awareness I].

Rolling up to the core, Jason was met with a sudden realization that his inability to receive updates meant that a monstrous wave of information was going to assail his mind all at once. Strangely, this thought seemed to excite Jason; such strain would only make his mind stronger, inching him ever-closer to becoming something greater. However, he needed to be cautious-- the Core had already attempted to sway his mind once; and Jason was not keen on becoming a mere slave to the whims of the dungeon. Rather, it would be the DUNGEON that would change instead. Gathering his resolve Jason touched the Core; he was not the man his nightmares painted him as, he was righteous, he was JUST, and to ensure the fate he foresaw could never come to pass, Jason was going to teach these dead to live once again.
An incorporeal pain tore through Jason, threatening to tear him apart from the inside; and yet, he endured. The slime mage's body convulsed wildly as he fought to keep his mind together.

Holding fast for as long as he could, Jason separated from the core the moment he felt his thoughts become vulnerable; like they had when he first linked to the core. Collapsing as he pulled back, Jason tumbled out the front of his cave, puddling at the skeletal feet of Skeleblin_003 and Gawain. After gathering himself, Jason 'stood' once more, finally having completed the development of [Dungeon Awareness I], and could now begin the morning training regimen for his group. Curling up and rolling into the cave once again, Jason lightly prodded Danny and Asteria awake, "Time to get up guys, we've got a busy day ahead of us, and we need to start making preparations."

While he waited on the the others to get their bearings, Jason was quite eager to test his newly developed [Dungeon Awareness I]. Approaching Gawain, the now fully christened Dungeon boss cleared his throat, "Skeleblin_002, you are now to be addressed ONLY as Gawain, and will take on Gawain as your name or designation... Gawain, I command you to run one full lap around the pool as fast as you can; without touching the water. Avoid conflict whenever possible during this task, and if your survival is at risk at any point during this task, abandon said task and return here immediately."

Regardless of what happened next, Jason used the [Source Crystal] on Gawain before another thought came to mind; was this not a perfect opportunity to grind new skills? By lacking any means of naturally regenerating his Mana, as well as being truly out of Mana, an incredible opportunity to learn about the nature of magic presented itself, and Jason would graciously accept. Clearing his mind, taking slow, deep breaths, Jason reached into himself-- searching for (or the lack thereof) that 'secondary circulatory system' he had come to know as Mana. Carefully and gently he searched for the source of his ailment, thoroughly studying each and every apparent irregularity.
Any room for an assassin?
ill have a post by friday

@Zeroth
The world around Jason faded to black; stolen away by the unrelenting tide of exhaustion, both mental and physical. It was a moment of weakness. An opportunity most welcome by a man's inner demons... The shadows wrought of a haunted past scurried forth like starved, ravenous vultures to overtake his weary soul, dragging Jason deeper into the abyss of his tortured mind. Flung about wildly through the void like the plaything of some perverse entity, the warlord finally jerked to a stop as a vision, or, perhaps... A memory? was held before him.

At first, he could see nothing but the layers of rock, and then daylight, but before his eyes could adjust he was rising higher. Now he saw a a deep forest, and gently rising cliffs growing ever steeper until they became mountains to the immediate west. He rose higher, drifting through clouds that stretched over the cave and further beyond, over curling smoke trails and unnaturally shaped structures of wood and stone that could only be civilization. Somewhere to the east, a large body of water sat glimmering with the last rays of the setting sun.

He rose higher. To the south, deserts and canyons, windstorms sweeping over the dunes. Further to the east, a bright light cutting a path to safety for those in need of guidance. Over the mountains, to the southwest, a grand city stretching for miles. Still in the west, but far further north, a tower like a mighty tree reaching up to the heavens with roots stretching deep, deep into the earth. So far to the east that it became west again, a lonely, cold, desolate island where red lightning split the sky. Further beyond that, marshlands and mountains and untamed, wild lands.

From the base of the cliffs he had first seen, an army of death and unholy might marched forth. The deep, lush forests burned. The mountains became cold, lifeless fortresses of rock and steel. Further and further the influence of this fell legion spread; like a cancer upon existence itself it spread-- ever growing, undying, UNSTOPPABLE. Countless civilizations knelt before their invincible foe, and one by one, they all fell beneath it's heel. In mere minutes, Jason had witnessed the conquering of an entire world; leaving a blighted, blackened sphere in it's place. Slowly, the world began to grow smaller and smaller, until it sat neatly withing Jason's palm-- like a small novelty globe one would put on their desk. A dread filled awe reverberated through Jason as he rose from his cold throne, before him stood a chanting legion of undead, ready to obey his every command.

"It could all beeeeeeee youuuuursssssssssssssssssss...." hissed a voice behind Jason, chilling every fiber of his being. It was a voice he knew well. "Y-You shouldn't be here... T-Th-This isn't what I want..." Jason stuttered fearfully, swallowing his saliva as he slowly turned to face the voice. The skeleton of his oldest friend; and greatest enemy, met his eyes with a sinister grin. "You could have the peeeeerfect army Jason," the skeleton clicked, "No need to eat, no need to sleep.... and best of all, undying loyalty..... Think about it Jason, no more betrayal.... No more like me..."

"Or me..." a glowing shape added as darkness began to close in around Jason.

The shadows laughed madly as they began to overtake Jason's form, paying little heed to his protests, "N-N-NO!!! I WON'T DO IT! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! I'LL NEVER GIVE IN! YOU HEAR ME?? NEVER!!!" Jason screamed as he violently fought the oncoming tide in vain, continuing to thrash squirm until the shadows had him once more. A single foreboding taunt was all Jason heard before once more drifting into nothingness.

"Of course you will Jason... It's only a matter of time."
