Current Pirates, monsters, magic, islands and no civilization to steal from. Hmm.

Now, what happens when you have a bunch of monsters that were living in a forest and they get transmigrated into a futuristic urban setting?

I know that few, if any, people on this site would be interested in it... but... I just got an idea for a SAO/GGO/XCOM/UFO crossover... fun tingles...

Life has never given mankind sufficient time... nor sleep... nor comprehension. If it had, we would have stopped trying.

It can be greatly refreshing to return to a thing that one has long loved.

@RC3I changed my mind about a couple things relating to Tik's loot and where he's going next. I also hope that the change in tone and mentality is more to your liking. Tik will use two of his 8 uses to absorb the two passive skills, if you please.

On a related note, I'm back. And it is good.
Tik

Tik let the other two goblins take the lead in deciding how to split the rabbit. He was tired. The goblin that killed the rabbit got two of the four good hunks of meat while the other wanted one of them and the hide. But, getting the hide off was going to be a bit tough with teeth and fingers. So, Tik took a rock and bashed the base of the horn until it broke off. Then he used it to help cut the hide where it was still holding to the flesh. But, after that, he just waited till the other two finished.

Rena was a goblin he would remember. The other one hadn't given a name but was alright too, still leaving enough meat for everybody. Tik ate his portion. It wasn't great, but the animal was strong. Tough creature, tough meat. He'd have to remember that. But now, he was curious.

While Rena figured out how to wear the hide, Tik took the rest of the beast apart. The other gob had broken a lot of bones and now Tik could see how they had broken, how they came together normally, and how many bones looked like they would be useful. The horn was a weapon already. Tik would make a good spear with it later. Of the remaining bones, only a few ribs and the bones around the base of the neck were still unbroken and the ribs were too frail to use for weapons. They even felt like they could bend a tiny bit. But, maybe he could make something from them later. The collar bones of the horned rabbit were stronger but not strong enough for Tik to make a weapon from them either. Maybe if the beast was bigger the bones would be better. For now, he cut the ears off and put the collar bones and few intact ribs inside one before trying to use it to carry them. The ribs fell out.

Then he looked at the ribs again... and the horn. The ribs were curved. That gave him an idea. He poked holes along the edges of the ear that he hadn't bit during the fight and then folded the ear over so that some of the holes lined up with each other. Then he poked the ribs through the holes, pinning one side of the ear together. Finally, since they still looked a little wiggly, he grabbed some thin vine and wound it around and between the ribs to keep them from slipping, eventually tying an accidental knot that kept the vine from sliding.

He studied that too. Then he figured out how to do it again, on purpose. Then, he put the first and last rib through the waistband of his loincloth so that the ribs wouldn't poke him and the open side of the rabbit ear pouch was facing up. It worked! Though it wasn't great, he felt proud.

Then he looked around and found that he was all alone with a dead goblin and the few bits of rabbit that were left. Rena had finished and left. But, he could guess which way she had gone. He'd need to be quick if he was going to catch up.

He focused on turning his thicker pointy stick into a better spear by binding the rabbit's horn to the tip. He had to reshape the tip with the horn before he could get the vines to hold well enough and he had to use a few of those new knots as well. But, it worked. Then he took a small scrap of meat that had clung to a bone and carried it over to the dead goblin. He had never met this one but he had a feeling. He put the scrap of meat in the dead goblin's mouth and turned to leave in the same direction that Rena had gone.

"Don't die hungry." He said to himself as he headed off to find Rena.

Taking a break till Saturday for reasons of Writers block... plus a bunch of real life stress and garbage.
Well, I don't want to forcibly stall people. But, if you all prefer to wait... I'll accept that too. No pressure.

If you want to continue and RC3 needs to puppet Tik back to the cave with his share of the spoils I can just write up a summary of his activities for any intervening time, after the fact. I already know what he'd be trying to make with most of those parts I listed, after all.
@RC3 I think I've burned myself out. I'm going to take a break until Saturday. Hopefully a bit of rest and a change of mental pattern will help.
... That cat needs to be hit with the spell 'Fat Leech' by an emaciated basketball pro... NOW.
I'm wrestling with writer's block right now... I'll try again tomorrow. Hopefully work won't take so much from me... this time.

It's irritating not being able to post through writer's block with three different characters.
@demonspade64@Haeo Is it ok to you guys if Krishna claimed 2 rabbit meat and a defense skill?

Krishna got the final blow. Some kind of loot perk is normal.
What I want to get is the following.

[*]1 meat
[*]tendons
[*]teeth
[*]intact bones, especially both scapula
[*]claws
[*]ears

So mostly stuff for the crafting talent that I want to develop. As for absorption... I want both passives but I'll leave the actives alone for this one.
A talent and a skill... not bad for a desperate grappling victory. But, it's been a long day. I'll look into replying in the morning.

Tik was hurting, but grateful. It was hard to breathe but he was still able to move. So, he did.

The horned rabbit had knocked him to the ground and his 'weapon' was somewhere out of immediate sight. However, the horned rabbit's tackle had left it practically next to him on the ground. It wouldn't stay there long. But, Tik needed to be in the safest place right now while he caught his breath. The safest place...

He grabbed at the horned rabbit and tried to grapple with it. Specifically, he tried to stay on its back with his arms around its neck, his teeth locked on its ear, and his legs wrapped around its body... and all of him out of the reach of that killer horn. He couldn't really kill it from this position but it shouldn't be able to do too much to him either. Of course, it could try to ram him into something... but his added weight would make that a difficult task.

Hopefully, his siblings would take the chance to gang up on it and kill it... before this plan gave him his first piercing, right in his immature green butt.

The challenge was that he had to maintain a death grip with limited strength and he couldn't let himself get shaken off or be made to flinch by pain. So, he would focus. He would focus on how the horned rabbit moved, every detail that he could feel and hear and smell. He would study this creature's every move and trait like he was studying the maneuvers of a new border militia... whatever that is...

Of course, if this grappling plan failed... he would have no choice but to scramble for his thick pointed stick and try to keep from being gored while he got his breath back.
