Honestly, I don't get the grief given to SAO when there's stuff like Mushoku Tensei where the MC actively lusts for underaged girls. And it's the most popular isekai in Japan.

Also, it's kinda annoying going back and forth writing short replies since I got other stuff to do and that just interrupts my rythm.

I believe Kanako is ready unless Catherine wants to talk further.
Suwako Makiyoshi

"Hmm, a traitor, huh?" Suwako said after hearing Alicia's explanation. "Well, let's just hope she won't betray us as well." Suwako then gave a gaze that told her "I really don't trust you so don't try anything stupid" to the girl. Mariette then explained how she was never really on Justine's side but Suwako didn't really buy that. It merely showed that Mariette was the kind of girl that prioritized herself over anything else.

They then tried to recruit some more magical girls to their side using Mariette's portals. However, most of them refused, not wanting to risk their lives to fight against Justine. Suwako didn't like their cowardice, but she could understand where they was coming from. Perhaps if she had been not one of the Beacon, she could've done the same.

"Drop your weapons! Hands in the air!"

"Oh great, the police's here. Should've known this huge ship would attract attention," Suwako said.

She did as they said, lifting her arms up in the air. It wasn't like she couldn't use her spells in such a position so even if the police decided to fire at them, which she seriously doubted they would, she could still defend herself just fine.

Kanako Nagasaki

Kanako rose up and dusted her skirt after her demonstration. Her bottom was still sore after her failed landing but she was happy on the result nonetheless. She only messed up a little near the end and that was more than enough for her.

When she saw Catherine float down towards her however, she couldn't help but to feel nervous. What if she didn't like her demonstration? She was sure she did well but the thought simply couldn't get out of her mind.

However, the moment she saw her teacher clapped, that doubt disappeared from her mind.

"T-thank you, Miss Catherine!" she said in return, bowing towards her. She was so happy to hear those words from her. She felt as if she could float away with happiness at any moment!

4:00pm - Academy Grounds; Underground

Kanako entered the tunnels with the others, wearing her usual school uniform. She was impressed by her surroundings. The place was simply majestic. She knew that there was a lot of history in the walls around her. The place simply reeked with ancient history.

She sat on the stone seats available as she waited for the headmaster, who was already there, talking to Manilow, to make his announcement. She wasn't sure what they were going to do here. Certainly not a normal study class for sure. She huddled a little in her seat. The air was quite cold down there.

She didn't have to wait long before the Headmaster started his speech. To summarize, each of them would have to display their ability to the best that they could in front of all the others. That explained those little segmented arenas down below.

Kanako gulped. She wasn't sure that she was ready for something like this. Sure, her wind control had improved during these three months but she still felt she was far from mastery. She was still a beginner. What if she embarrassed herself in front of everyone? She wouldn't be able to look anyone on the face ever again!

No, Kanako, you can do this! Just like Miss Katherine said, stay calm and you would have mastery over your control of the wind!

She stood up, brushing her skirt from dust before descending down towards one of the lowered platforms via the staircases available. Once she arrived, she took a deep breath to calm herself. Closing her eyes, and letting her arms hang down freely from her shoulders, she began conjuring a whirlwind around her.

Here I go!

She compressed said whirlwind into two smaller ones, before attaching them to each of her legs. And with them down there, she began to slowly float away from the ground.

Careful, careful!

She had to keep constant concentration so the two whirlwind perfectly synced with each other. She also had to take care not to make them too big or small, and that their winds didn't reach her skirt so her modesty would be preserved.

Imagine them as knee-high boots made of wind. Imagine them tightly wrapping your legs, being just the right size like the perfect boots.

Once she had hovered around five meters above ground, she began the next stage.

With her hands, she conjured little tiny whirlwinds in front of her. And once she felt they had stabilized enough, she began to slowly thin them into becoming tiny wind blades. This really took all the concentration she could muster. All her thoughts went into this task. And then, once she shaped them to her satisfaction, she send them flying towards the stone slab in front of her. To her satisfaction, all of her blades managed to stick into the slab without losing their form.

That's it for precision. Now for power.

She dispelled her wind blades. Her next move was to cover her right hand with a whirlwind. And then, bracing herself, she punched the stone slab right on the center with said hand. Punched might be the wrong term however as her fist never really touched the slab. Instead, she stopped just inches before she touched the stone. But that proximity was good enough for her wind punch to shatter the stone slab into pieces.

Haa... haa... haa... I can't believe I'm doing this well. Alright Kanako, just one last demonstration!"

She then took the deepest breath she could muster. Using her wind manipulation, she compressed the air in her lungs, before shooting it all out from her mouth. She dubbed this technique, "The Breath Cannon", and she aimed it right at the ground below her. The high pressure air created a small crater, just as she had expected.

What she didn't expect however was the whirlwinds on her legs suddenly disappearing, sending her straight down with a surprised scream from her mouth.

"Oow!"

She landed right on her butt. That's gonna be sore for a while.

Kanako Nagasaki

After the disastrous gym class, Kanako spent some time back in her room waiting for the next class, by throwing herself to her bed and reading herself some of her novels. She decided she would take the math class next. She was actually pretty good at maths. She simply understood the concepts the teachers taught her instinctively.

Knowing Mr. Hirsoi, it would be fine if I arrive a little bit late.

And so Kanako took it easy, not even bothering to change out of her gym clothes as she continued to loiter around on her fluffy and soft bed, her novel at hand.

And where's Havish? Is he not going back here?

Kanako Nagasaki

“Kanako! Do not use any wind!”

Suddenly, someone shouted out those words, snapping out Kanako from her slight trance. She looked around to see who said that, but she failed at pointing out who it was. There was just simply too many people around her now, she thought. Not to mention all the shouting the newcomer and Diana were doing.

Well, it's fine. She could just let the others deal with Mr. Manilow's test. And she had a feeling that he would have to stop the test soon to defuse the escalating situation going on here. The ice girl had transformed her own sweat into a makeshift armor to combat the flame girl's fiery threat. Hmm, that was certainly an unique usage of her power. Kanako now wondered if she could manipulate wind to become armor as well. Air bubbles, softening and blocking blows before they could land? Or a swirling tornado all around her?

"MR. MANILOW, GET OVER HERE NOW!"

This time, she knew who shouted those words. Leanne's desire to stop the fight was obvious not just from her uncharacteristicly loud shout, as she was using her power to the feuding to girls in an attempt to stop their fight. Darkness elementalist, Kanako thought. The rarest of all the elements. And the one with the most bad rep as well. She knew it was unfair but she couldn't help to feel a little creeped out at the element. Logically, an element would neither be good or bad and their moral quality would depend on their user. But there was just something about those creeping, writhing shadows... At least this time, she used her power as a wall to separate the two.

As she had anticipated, Mr. Manilow ended up stopping the fight of the two. Kanako was both relieved and disappointed at that. Relieved that their fight didn't turn into something more ugly as they had started getting really physical, and disappointed that she didn't get to see more of their fight. She knew she wasn't supposed to think like this, but she couldn't help to be interested in how they would fight each other, especially since both of them seemed to have good control over their element.

She was disturbed however on how he reacted afterwards. He shouted for them to go to the next class with a harsh voice. It was almost like he was an entirely different person.

Kanako quickly left the scene, afraid of his sudden attitude shift.

Well, that was a disaster...

Kanako Nagasaki

Kanako immediately felt dumb when Jordan dodged her blast of wind so easily. Dammit, she should've known her wind would be too slow to hit him before he could dodge.

@Spriggs27
Before she could try again however, a particularly loudmouthed individual made her entrance. She immediately started off by giving insults, particularly to Jordan, whom she thought was a homeless person. Kanako felt bad for doing it but she chuckled internally at her observation. However, she began to get angry as well when she started to insult the students including herself. Just who in the world did she think she was?

@Zelosse@Old Amsterdam
Before she could give her a piece of her though, the temperature suddenly dipped. It didn't take her long to see the cause. The bleachers were beginning to freeze, meaning someone here was using their power to freeze the air around it. Bhu shouted at Dia to stop it. But Kanako doubted the girl could do it. She heard she had terrible control over her own power. Her boyfriend, Felix (everyone knew they were practically a couple already) was coaching her to control it (and shouting back at Bhu in the process). As hotheaded as ever, Kanako thought.

"Atchoo! Brr, it really is getting cold!" Kanako shivered. She saw Felix was using his own power to warm himself. Hmph, too bad she couldn't summon warm wind or something.

She then saw Shizen summoning a drizzle upon Mr. Manilow before correcting the arrogant girl that their teacher wasn't a hobo and telling her that their objective was to bring him down from there. Well, at least now she would know their objective. Speaking of the girl, she seemed to be not bothered by the cold. That would make her another ice user, Kanako supposed. Funny how her personality was the complete opposite of Dia.

@Crusader Lord
The new girl began to insult Dia's lack of control as well as the choice of test Mr. Manilow was giving to them. It didn't take long until she pissed off more students, starting from Amelia, then followed by Diana. Kanako had to admit that the verbal beating Diana gave her was really impressive. So impressive in fact that she just stood there watching as the scene unfolded, forgetting that she should be trying to knock down Jordan as well. She got guts for sure...

Speaking of Jordan, he was actually having problem this time around with the combination of powers assaulting him. Too bad Kanako was too distracted to capitalize on the chance.

Suwako

@Flamelord@Shifter_Master@PlatinumSkink
Suwako was quite uncomfortable with the speed Ren was driving, but she tried her best not to show it.

"I see," she replied to Alicia. When Ren chimed it, she chimed in afterward as well. "Well, I just hope you won't get caught in the crossfire one day."

The train station soon came into view. She immediately recognized Penny as they approached her position. But she also noticed the unfamiliar girl standing beside her. Was this their new ally?

Penny immediately greeted them after they left their car (with Ren immediately leaving afterwards, something about him being busy according to Alicia). Penny then shortly briefed them of the situation. So a lot of people from other factions would join them in this battle. She just hoped none of them intended to betray them in the middle of the fight.

"And who is this, if I may ask?" Suwako asked, throwing a glance at the bunny holding girl.
