To all the homies in Florida -- stay safe out there. Now is not the time to wrangle an alligator and surf it down the flooded streets. I know, it's hard to resist the urge.

Bio

On the old version of the Guild I was the record holder for 'Most Infraction Points Without Being Permabanned'.

My primary roleplaying genres are fantasy and science fiction. Big fan of The Elder Scrolls, The Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40,000, Mass Effect, Fallout and others.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and its expansions are underrated. Now you might say, "The fuck are you talking about, Hank? Morrowind is highly regarded, received massive critical acclaim upon release and is constantly brought up as people's favorite game!" Yeah, I know all that -- but it's not enough.

Seriously, Morrowind was groundbreaking on so many levels and most of those are acknowledged, but it doesn't receive nearly enough attention for the esoteric mysticism, mythology, Dunmeri culture, deliberately self-contradicting narrative and sheer originality and creativity that it contains. Vvardenfell is the most engrossing and interesting fantasy world ever put to screen in any medium in the history of mankind and the conflict between the Sharmat, the Tribunal, and the Hortator (past and present) is unparalleled in RPG storytelling to this day. Even Bethesda themselves never lived up to this masterpiece of writing and gravitas.

Credit for most of that goes to Michael Kirkbridge, by the way, a completely insane but utterly riveting and brilliant writer who contributed heavily to the Morrowind project but left Bethesda after that.
Ah, you quoted yourself in your signature? You must be a true scholar and a gentleman.

Just kidding, welcome to the Guild. Your avatar's great. What did you think of the Rob Zombie Halloween movies?

I agree with all of the above.
It's ain't a madness place when all in here are mad

The processor wouldn't be the only bottleneck, @Vlad P. Onboard graphics cards are notoriously bad. It isn't until this generation of laptop chips, like the onboard version of the Geforce 1050/60/etc, that they've become usable for videogames without spending a fortune.
The age of specific computer models (when it comes to desktop PCs) is over. It's all about the parts inside the machine now, and it is highly recommended that you build it yourself, or at least order the parts and have someone else assemble it for you.

Intel i5 or i7, or maybe an AMD Ryzen processor? NVIDIA Graphics cards are the most popular, but what budget are you on and what games do you want to play, and at what resolution? 1080p? 4k? How big do you want your SSD to be? Are you going air cooling or water cooling? etc etc.
We already met on the Discord server, but welcome to the Guild.
I already know what I'm going to post, just gotta find the time to pen it down. Admin duties are currently keeping me occupied.
