And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

The unarmoured caster is lingering ten feet beyond the front of the two non-casters, so by your current action you would be attacking one of the non casters. If this is okay, the attack will indeed hit and slay the target. Otherwise you would have to gain more movement speed, mainly by Dashing, which would forgo your attack. I am assuming you will take the attack instead of the second option here.

Anyhow, next up @Norschtalen with @Gordian Nought right after.
The first aid provided by the Paladin alone would have been enough, but as the Priestess' magic flushed over the injured looter they could at least be sure that this matter was handled. The woman would not be dying any time soon... they finally had the prisoner they had been trying to capture. Another small victory in the night where there plausibly could have been none. Now all they needed to do was get their prisoner back to the keep for interrogation.

Their trip began well, with none of the three attackers that had fled coming after them and the mill was still standing, clearly not in much danger. Perhaps Parum had been right. Maybe they had been attempting to lure the party into the mill? But there was no way to tell. Maybe, just maybe they would find out afterwards. If the mill would be still standing, definitely a trap. If not, well... then they had at least given it a fair try.

Once they approached the keep, a stroke of bad luck hit them. Just before they arrived to the old tunnel, Kyra spotted a group of raiders before them who, likewise, noticed the group. As the priestess sounded her warning and prepared to do whatever it was that he was going to do, the Paladin of the wilds used the time she had spent to warn the party to make his move.

No, not really. Nobody is in any real cover at this point.

I'll be setting up the scene for the combat IC momentarily! Just let it be known that @The Harbinger of Ferocity happened to land the 1st spot in the order.
"Ekil Erif, Ekam Erif, Erif Erif..." the creature recited as it flew closer, slowing down as it approached Mistletoe. "To your question, I'll answer. But none elude death for long. The Narrow Maze is my domain. You brought me to this realm. I must fetch you to the realm. Now, follow me... into the mist!" the Jailor echoed, before making an exaggerated gesture of inhaling and breathed a cloud of the blue flame towards Mistletoe. From this range, there was no way she could avoid all of it.

As the Jailor himself assaulted the other one of the female hunters, the two smaller gargoyles set themselves to circling around Kenza. At first it seemed there was nothing else, but if she tried to move, the gargoyles would pepper her with some yellow projectiles they created before their featureless face.

At least for all it was worth, the creatures had not noticed Derrick.

Yeah, I'll have something up before I go to bed tonight.
Both of those things are what played into the enemy scouting party being here. It makes sense to me. Let me just note that initiative down...
Many of them have been cut down by the dragon and not everyone rolls a perception of 20. These things happen.
@Gordian Nought
She should be light enough. My call is that you can carry her if you want to.
@Norschtalen
The raiders are more than likely going to be on alert, given what just passed. I'll roll stealth for you all to see if something happens.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnndddddd something does. I'm going to need everyone's initiatives. A group of three people notices you as you are about to enter the tunnel back into the keep. It seems they were scouting around the walls and happened to encounter you at a difficult moment. To your luck, none of them seem to have ranged weapons and one of them is unarmoured. Neither side is surprised. Who is carrying your prisoner?

@Lucius Cypher@Gordian Nought@The Harbinger of Ferocity@Ryonara
The words of Haemar would have angered the Ranger beyond reason. You don't just pull your weapon on a member of your party like you pull one on a monster. You don't need to prepare for the worst when a long time friend of yours walks before you. Not even then if you might have... a thing for her, but this would not have been publicly shared. Some of Katia's speech was unintelligible, but he would have realised from her body language that she wasn't too happy about something. But there was a reason these were all hypothetical: Theodore's mind was not exactly on this plane of existence and he wasn't quite the mystic that could handle telepathy over those distances.

All that came from there was the resounding 'what on earth did just happen?'. And somebody had that set on a loop. So, as anyone who did not have access to his mind would only see the Ranger freeze in place, a slight red colour rising to his cheeks as he did his best to process this turn of events. "Thea... you... I... what...", he stammered, probably making next to zero sense to anyone. In a few moments his mind found something to focus on, which was to get his mask back.

He tried reaching for it first, but Thea held it away from his reach. This reminded him of something... had Katia talked her into this without him noticing? It was a possibility for certain, he couldn't discard it. His attempts were punctuated by cute high-pitched grunts, though they were very much unintentional, but as they yielded no fruit, he simply placed his hands onto the Paladin's shoulders and repeated something he had explained to her last many years prior: "The mask is important and you know that. Says in the doctrine to keep it on at moments like this, out in the open and not in a fight, eating or things like that. Could you hand it back?" His voice next dropped heaps in volume as Thea did indeed hand the mask back to him, making a remark on why she had kept it. "Well if it is just that, maybe later when the doctrine allows..."

Theodore covered his progressively reddening face with the mask once more and lingered for just a second next to the woman he admittedly was interested in, but finally began taking small steps towards the rest of the group, ready to continue on on their journey. He shook his head and placed one of his hands on the front of his mask, pressing it against his face, the material cooling his heated face just a little before heating up to the same temperature.
