And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

I dunno about positioning, but I'd figure that since Orchid is a big burly guy and Parum is a halfling, could Orchid carry her, and then put his sword away for his shield, and utilize his speed and bulk to carry her away while she does her thing? Basically I wanna make Orchid into a mount for Parum.

Orchid is Medium, Parum is Small. By that regard, it seems fine to me. Orchid isn't exactly equipped with the typical mount anatomy though, so that may (read: will) result in disadvantages on forced dismount checks and Orchid's own attacks. As long as Parum consents, she can be carried by the half-orc and can dismount as normal, using half of her movement. Or Orchid may unceremoniously drop her flat on the ground, that is also an option.

Since Kyra is a native to this area and a wood elf to boot, would it be possible for her to have managed to guide the party further across the open field ahead of the horsemen? I imagine she would have showed them quick ways through the forest, as well as paths that, while easily accessible on foot, would be incredibly difficult for someone who is mounted.

The woods are a fair distance away, but rest assured I was counting on Kyra using her knowledge to the party's advantage as soon as they would reach them. In mechanics sense, they will be likely to avoid any slower to catch up riders based on that.

Brannor has rolled a 9 for his Initiative check at the edge of the forest, @Hekazu. I suspect, given the ranger-knight was ahead of the group, that he is likely near to or at the front of the procession into the woods when the riders at last catch up. Other than that, I have no real say or power in any way; that is the only reasonable place to be based on the turn of events.

Noted.
The acolyte that was shot does not fall. However, with the battle rapidly falling apart into a chase, I find it fair to break initiative order here...

Only to start it anew as just before you make it to the forest, a few cult members catch up to you on horseback. There will be a battlemap some time tomorrow, but I would like to request everyone to provide a new initiative score on another combat taking place several minutes from now. Thanks to the Sanctuary, Torus is hint by only once one arrow from a hail of arrows from the camp, instead of multiple. His bear form suffers 4 damage. However, the spell will have ran out before this next combat.

Ah, and if you have any preferred positions in a largely open field, you are welcome to state them relative to each other. The IC description will be coming once I have a battlemap to present.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity@Ryonara@Lucius Cypher@Gordian Nought@Norschtalen
Orchid's opponent would not be so merciful as to let the enemy of the cult to run away freely, and brought the scimitar at the waist of the running man with remarkably greater proficiency than what had been exhibited only few moments ago as they had managed to hit the structure around them rather than the flesh of the strike's actual target. But this time the edge found purchase in the flesh of the raging man, even if the sting of it lessened by Orchid's disinterest in his own injuries.

The half-orc made himself scarce to the great disappointment of the acolytes, who now needed to make haste if they wanted to make any progress at all. One of them ran as far as his legs would carry him, heading after the bear that was making a swift exit with the special prisoner in tow. The other chose to run after the other supposed liberators, through the tent she'd seen the half naked man and green skinned man make his exit. Her steps were not quite as fast as her compatriots, but that left her time for something else. To utilise the symbol that hung from her wrist, the string of which was entwined between her fingers, the five dragon heads in a circle swinging in the air with the momentum of her rush.

"Halt!" she would yell, the words laced with magic drawn from the divine influence of the Queen of Dragons, the unnaturally compelling word aimed in the direction of the pink haired rival priestess. To the cult member's great displeasure, the woman would not stop dead in her tracks as wished for, but be free to continue on her path towards the plains and the woods that stood not far from here. The woman bit her lip, even seeming as if she was not looking to continue the chase from there.

Rodger dat, I'll edit it into my last post. i'm guessing this is slashing? if so, half damage.

Slashing indeed. Factor in resistances accordingly.

@Hekazu

Wisdom Save is a 22/20.

Thank you, I will take this into account once I can get to writing my post. Hopefully tonight, but it may take longer.
Pardon the delay, the heat has really been taking its toll on me. Now, I did at least figure out that Orchid got hit (rolls being 21 to hit and 6 for damage), but I'm lagging behind on piecing together people's positions... this is where having those map source files earlier would have been good. I should have this wrapped up soon though...

I think all I need is a WIS save from Kyra, actually. So, please account for the taken damage (which should keep your rage going) @Lucius Cypher and please provide the aforementioned save @Norschtalen.
I propose a player handles putting their own sheet there, for the ease of editing if and when more chrome or different guns find their way on their person. But yes, I do figure we might as well move to begin.
Hello, I'm looking to join one of these games, would that be possible?

I am afraid we are quite full, as our join status indicator currently states. Sorry! Best of luck in finding a spot in another game!
Most of the heroes of Greenest were well on their way out now, but the full force of the cult was not far behind. The next arrivals numbered one head more than the last batch, this time two of them wearing the more elaborate armour of the one leader that had been struck down, and had Parum still been nearby she might have identified one of them as Dragonclaw Stern, but not from the distance she was at. The two were followed by two acolytes openly brandishing the symbols that served as the source of their power. "Stop the enemy! Slay them all!" one of the leadership figures yelled, their underlings ready to obey.

Despite this eagerness, they could not quite close the distance as fast as the previously rushing ones had. They were left twenty or so feet away from their closest mark, that being the half-orc of the group. While they still prepared to call upon their power however, the machete wielding man had the chance to sink or swim. Even in his state or rage, he would understand that the fight could not continue in the favour of he and his friends, especially not if they were all retreating and he would be left on the field alone.

With no votes of disapproval voiced, I decided to move on with placing Croaks onto the Characters tab.

It should be noted that if anyone wants to play as Ribby, I am still more than welcoming to the thought. We might need to have a bit of chat about their common history together, but that's more of a boon than an issue, is it not?
Croaks, of the Colonel's Corner Amphibians

Name: Miquel Borges Mão de Ferro Santos, though everybody knows him as "Croaks"

Appearance: Croaks is a large man, despite him lacking any easily visible cybernetics and having not gone through any biografting. His small victory in the genetics lottery did make him taller and more muscular than your average Combat Zone kid though, and when times are rough one has got to count all the blessings they can get. While on the ground, he most often dresses in paramilitary style cargo pants of jungle camouflage style, coupled with heavy black boots, all the while he covers his upper body with a manila string vest. If he is expecting gunfights, he might exchange the stuff for kevlar his gang had bought from good Lieutenant, but he prefers not to.

His hair is kept short, and the river keeps it dyed in its dirty colour. For his skin, the man is tan as his Portuguese heritage would suggest, but with how little sun keeps coming down here it is not anything too impressive.

When doing stuff underwater, he tosses on a black wetsuit with a few yellow stripes on the side, or stripes that once were yellow anyway. The polluted river has made its toll on those. Like any self respecting diver, he will also be seen wearing flippers and an oxygen mask, using a small waist mounted air tank for what he needs. The gigs don't usually take that long. It's better that way.

Cyberware:

  • Neuralware
    • Neuralware Processor (Allows any other neuralware to function)
    • Low-end Kerenzikov Reflex booster (Enhances reaction time barely noticeably, but it is there)
  • Implants
    • Adrenal Booster (Used to pump more adrenaline in the works for enhanced combat capability. Good for three uses/day.)

Weapons:
On dry land:
  • A "surplus" NCPD favoured bullpup submachinegun of questionable origin. Quite similar to its predecessor FN P90, it fires at 900 shots per minute but thanks to the ammunition used being caseless as is the way of the age, the magazine can fit double the bullets, that being 100. Croaks's gun has been painted over with a paint that gives it an oily appearance, as if recently fished out from the river.
  • A serrated knife, serration added by himself onto some nice knife he picked up on one of his river lorry raids. Nothing too special about it.

Underwater:
  • Marinetech 1765 Harpoon Gun, usually reserved to licensed combat divers. Croaks calls his "Boltcaster".
Quite a bit more lethal than the usual gun underwater, but much too heavy and clunky to really be of any use outside of water.

Armour: While Croaks prefers to not bother, when the time comes he does toss on a cop grade kevlar vest, and sometimes even changes his pants for the lightly armoured sort. Of course, neither of these are an option when he goes diving. Then it is just the wetsuit and what little protection a rebreather and goggles offer.

Background: Croaks belongs to one of the many gangs in the Night City Combat Zones, and is actually a rather high ranking member of the "Colonel's Corner Amphibians" as they call themselves, based on the fact that around the spot they do most of their work in, at the curve of the river, one can see the neon sign of a bar called Colonel's Corner far above. Croaks is one of the two leader figures of the gang, the other one being Ribby, the nickname belonging to someone Croaks can only call a brother from another mother.

Their gang is small, but as a result quite tightly wound, but small numbers are a big drawback when one takes into account that they need a large headcount or big guns to protect one's turf down here in the slums. Thankfully enough, the saving angel in the for of the crooked Lt. Davison appeared and supplied them for the longest time. Only to vanish in their time of need.

Now that guns and ammo are both running a bit low, there is no other option than to either look for another salesman or find the old one anew. Hopefully without the rest of the gang losing the turf in the meantime. It would get plenty awkward if he needed to try and get the things he was holding for people out of the river until the watchful eye of his rivals.
