You don't realize how isolated you are until a pandemic hits and you legit make zero changes to your life.

Unfortunately no. I'm going through the academy but believe me, I could take a break from the 5 am alarms and daily beatdowns. But good for you for having that option. I've always been curious as to what it's like to work in my PJs.

I wish it was PJs, but working at home takes a lot of mental discipline, so I at least get showered/dressed :)

Also, daily beatdowns sound intriguing...

I still have to show up to work until the state officially shuts down.

Ouchie. I guess there's no "work at home" option for you?

On that topic though, I'm an introvert and have been working at home for six years now, so being quarantined isn't effecting me as badly as I imagined.

The Goliath continued along the path not far behind the human Paladin, Renault, gazing out as far ahead as possible for oncoming danger. Something certainly didn’t feel right at that moment, and the fact that the one leading the group stopped and grasped the pendant around his neck, elicited a raised eyebrow from the woman.

“What are you doing?” She whispered, standing only a few feet from his location. Vah’lux may have had some idea of what the human was up to, as he claimed to be a holy warrior, a representative for the gods as well as their right hand of justice. Perhaps he was simply praying, but that feeling in the air didn’t go away, and maybe something more was transpiring around the group.

For a moment, Joss was taken aback by Olivia’s coldness, wondering what in the hell could be so important that conversing with a friend would be a distraction? Of course, they normally thought such things, and shrugged it off as self-esteem issues or simply bad timing. However, it wasn’t always like that, not from what the Driver ever remembered. It seemed like within the last year or so, Olivia had become more of a reclusive, and less interested anything else but her work.

“Look, you don’t have to go, it’s no bother.” Joss said in a hurry, noticing the girl across the table gathering up her papers and other supplies. “You’re not leaving already? I just got here. Well, can I at least walk you out?” The breakfast sandwich all but disappeared into their mouth at the end of the question, not wanting a missed opportunity with a friend.

“Um, how about I give you a ride somewhere?” Joss took a big gulp of coffee to wash down the remaining food.

“Tread carefully, my friends.” Vah’lux turned to the others to be heard, her husky voice cutting through the ambient sound of the breeze rushing by. “Keep watch. Not only ahead, but under your feet as well. I suspect there may be other creatures lying in wait.”

This wasn’t something unfamiliar to the Goliath living in the region she hailed from, as a handful of small and large creatures spent most of their days burrowed under the protection of the land from that of the unknown and very unpredictable surface. Not too often does it happen, but when said creature feels threatened enough, they will not hesitate to leap from their nests and strike at invaders.

The large woman only hoped this was not one of them...
