Gonna be on a trip soon so will be on hiatus until the end of the weekend. I'll probably be able to make a couple posts for a day at max before I disappear until then.

I'll try getting a sheet up soon now that I've got less work to do.
Jorel scratched the back of his head as the Exploror rolled off. He had of course agreed, but once again Conrad wanted to mow down zombies. "Alright, mate..." Suddenly Jorel realised he needed to attend to that girl. He looked around again, and spotted her in the distance. He slung his rifle over the other shoulder so it wouldn't fall off, and began to do some kind of jogging-hopping thing through the snow.

The girl was being tailed by a walker. Jorel pulled his hunting knife and tried to get to the girl faster, resorting to leaping between tree roots in order to not sink into the snow. He was making a bit of a ruckus, and the girl clearly had spotted him. She was in slight shock, and when Jorel was close enough he pounced at her, managing to stab the walker leaning behind her. He grabbed the girl and pulled her away from the falling corpse, instinctively dropping his knife.

Jorel looked into the girl's eyes, then scanned her body for wounds of any kind. He was still aware of more walkers approaching, so he firmly nodded at her, then whispered, "Come," before swiping up his knife and slotting it into his sheath, and picking the girl up bridal style.

Jorel wasn't as strong as Conrad, so the girl was a little heavy at first, but he quickly got used to her weight and trudged through the snow. He was slower than normal of course, but the walkers had to face the snow, too, so he continued through. It wasn't long before he reached the dirt track.

Off in the distance, Jorel could hear the slight revving of the Explorer. He shook his head and insisted to himself that Conrad would be fine, then jogged back to the cabin with the girl in hand. It was a longer journey than usual, but he made it. He let the girl down, still holding her hand, and walked up the steps to the front door. The girl slipped out of his hand, to which he shurgged and continued to the door. I wonder where the others are at...

This question was answered when he heard the rustle of leaves and snow beside the cabin, where he found Brooklyn and Sam heading back. Jorel looked back and smiled. "It's alright, they're friends."

Only moments after saying those words, she dropped, and Jorel rushed to her side.
Verelik laughed at Lee's comment. "You hear that, Dillan? Respect your elders, that includes Lee right beside you!" He began to walk through the gates. As he paced through, he spoke again. "You'll get whatever I find in the forest, if I get anything at all. Don't worry, I will." He stepped outside the settlement and waved the guards off with his hand without looking back, before disappearing into the treeline.

The forest was Verelik's second home. Tracking, navigation, anything survival was his forte. He had been in these forests before, though he had not gotten used to them again, not after the move. As he stepped through the brush, carefully placing his feet in areas lacking branches, he pulled his neck mask over his mouth. This was a simple tactic for Verelik, because he knew animals could hear his breathing from a mile away, though most would assume it was some kind of stealth maneuver. In a way it was, but not in the way they would think.

Verelik had journeyed until the faint sound of the settlement's clock tower rang. Right on cue, he spotted the tracks of a Deer. The soft tracks that maneuvered around bushes indicated it wasn't in a hurry, so Verelik slowed to a stop, knowing it would hear him make the slightest of sounds. Following the tracks, he eventually spotted it, resting in an open grove between some trees. Looking at it closer, he discovered it was rather an Elk. This of course could be confused with a deer when it is simply walking, as they share very similar tracks. One could easily identify an Elk if it was running, however.

He inched closer to a lip of the hill he was on, so he overlooked the grove. So far he remained unseen, though he knew literally anything he did that involved sound or smell would attract it. He carefully slung his rifle off his shoulder, and held his thumb over the safety. He listened for a few seconds, and... Click! He timed the safety click with a nearby bird's chirp. He would normally never worry about the sound, but at this distance, you could never be too safe. At this point, his kill was guaranteed. Verelik aimed his sights down at the grove, got steady, and watched his Elk lie motionless on the grass. He let his cross-hairs float over the Elk's head a few times, before feeling confident. Once the Elk turned its head to the side from him, he pulled the trigger, and the Elk slumped to the ground. This way no shrapnel could enter the edible parts of the meat.

Verelik approached the silent body of the Elk. He immediately cleaned the entrance wounds and dropped his bag. No longer caring about sound, he ruffled through his bag and pulled out rope, which he used to tie the legs of the Elk with, along with a small tarp. This basically acted like a sled of sorts, so he could just drag it all the way home. Almost two hours after leaving town, Verelik reached the final hill, where he could see the walls of the settlement. He took a breath and sighed. Time to get back home.
Jorel was fiddling with his chin when Conrad spoke. He sat in the shotgun seat of the Explorer, his hand dangling out of the window. He looked around and noted the same thing as Conrad. "Yeah, dunno what's goin' on with that. But it's probs not a good idea to go shooting 'em if we're trying to draw them away. Yeah, just run 'em down." He shrugged and held his knife up. "We could go silent too, but your choice."

Lately things were getting slightly tedious and repetitive, though Jorel couldn't complain. The constant threat of walkers which they could now easily handle was becoming less of a risk and more of a chore. Not like over half a year ago, when Conrad and Jorel had first met. 'Shit, he's off his nut, 'ey, mate,' he questioned himself when he first saw Conrad's walker killing passion up front. It was as if he had some mission to do, but in the end, Conrad was a friend, be it a little odd. "Ready when you are, mate."
If this wasn't 2 months old I'd probs join lol
Verelik watched Fay walk off, until he remained alone in the square. He scratched his stubble and sighed. "Could've gone better..." He turned around and walked back the way he came.

It was always concerning to think what the change in the tides of life could do to the two neighbouring settlements of the Fireflies and the Water Leafs. Verelik, to be frank, was a little tired of the crap that kept happening in his life, which indirectly affected Alyssa. He knew soon she would be doing a professions test, and then she'd be working, just the same as himself. He couldn't bare another loss in his life, but he couldn't hold on to Alyssa for so long.

She might have hid it, but it was quite obvious to Verelik where her motives lie. She wanted to help people. She's a much better person than me... Far too reckless, much too naive. He rubbed his eyes and groaned while walking back home. Suddenly he had the urge to think of the different roles Alyssa could perform. A hunter; No, not what he does. Too dangerous. But he can't say no, of course. That said, what about a guard? These roles would fit Alyssa nicely, but Verelik couldn't help but fear the thought of his daughter at constant danger. He knew it's something she'd be good at. But there must be something else.

For one thing, Verelik could never imagine Alyssa working as a teacher or a doctor. She's far too energetic and unwise for the job. It'd keep her safe, at least. A dam engineer? Bah, yeah right. He knew anything without action would be a drag. Farmers... Electricians, or even a cook, but no, all those jobs would lack excitement for Alyssa. Does any of this matter? What she gets today will probably set her in that path, so it's not my choice in the end. Hell, she might make a good farmer, or even a Mayor's helper or something. Actually, she probably would be a good help to Marcus, who knows.

Verelik's body jolted to the side on instinct after almost walking into a street lamp. He looked up from the ground and realised he had headed off in the wrong direction. Off down the street, one of the doctors, Michelle, had entered a house. That virus... poor people. I should try and help out if I can. As he thought these words, he turned around swiftly, and headed back to his house, this time, his mind clear of thoughts. It didn't take too long, and he unlocked the front door and stepped into the void room. Once again he felt his hips, lacking his side-arm. He went round to the back and found his rifle in its case, leaning against the wall. Next to that, his revolver with its holster. He swiftly strapped it on and slung the rifle over his back after taking it out. "About time I hunt the big stuff."

Verelik walked through town to the gates. Looking up, he saw the slightly familiar faces of Dillan and Lee, whom he had spoken to on occasion at both the pub and on these hunting trips. They weren't manning the gate this morning, though that is of no surprise, of course. "You fellas wanna let an old man through? I promise I'll feed you tonight." He adjusted his rifle on his shoulder as he awaited for a response.

Alyssa was following some others through the hallway. She hadn't walked down this corridor in almost twelve months, and even though that wasn't long, it felt somewhat foreign for whatever reason. For the first day back at school, at least. Speaking of, she was doing a test on the first day back. She raised her eyebrow to no one in particular, then shrugged and entered the classroom. There were a small handful of 14 year olds in the room, along with Ms Baker and a bunch of test papers. Exciting, she thought blandly. She couldn't wait to leave, and she hadn't even sat down yet. Let's get this over with.
Well it'll certainly be an interesting plot device.
On a side note I'm being swamped to hell with work but I think I should be able to post tonight.
@Ollumhammersong
No worries then.
@Ollumhammersong
I might be interested (but a character will have to wait for maybe one or two days due to assignments), I'm wondering however how do the characteristics work? Like what does each one do?
