From behind a tree a little distance away, Alexander quietly watched the scene playing out in front of him with mild amusement. With his fancy manner of dress he was quite unlike the other ruffians gathered around in front of him, the ones more eager to recklessly throw themselves into a fight with the physically imposing woman with no sense of plan or purpose. It took a while but this reckless attitude of theirs had diminished from defeat after defeat. They still tried to act tough, at least the ones who hadn’t been beaten to a pulp, but they certainly weren’t stepping up to bat now.

In all honesty he would be content to allow himself to be called a coward and just walk away. She was clearly a dangerous opponent at least on his level, and as such it would be foolish to engage in a fair fight. However, orders were orders. He was sent here to further his training, and as such he was expected to fight the strongest person he could find. Well, he clearly found her.

Sigh.

He stepped out from behind the tree, having seen enough and his mind made up how to fight her in this David and Goliath situation he now found himself in. He strolled passed the ring of men into the middle of the circle where his target was waiting. With the two of them standing so close the size difference was all the more relevant. Alexander was just a runt.

“Guess I’ll do,” he said, using his left hand to gently pat the hilt of the blade attached to his hip. “Don’t mind if I use a little assistance here?”

That question was for the most part rhetorical. Of course he would use the sword if it would help him get out of this battle the victor. He widened his stance and hunched slightly over slightly on the balls of his feet, turning his right shoulder towards her and gripping onto the handle with his right hand. He wasn’t one the make the first strike. She would come to him, he could feel.
Forgot to subscribe to this. Whoopsydaisy. Will post tomorrow night.
Auto correct is literally hitler.

Did he get turned into an AI after the war?

In any case I have some more stuff to work with so my post should definitely be ready tomorrow night.
@Skallagrim
Any word on your return, or have you gone again?

If I don't get a reply in three days I'll message the others and we'll continue with caveat to work out General Freedom from the fight.

Debris falls into the hole he's in and knocks him unconscious down into it. Every time he starts to regain consciousness, some random object gets knocked down into the hole again and hits him on the head. It culminates in Evvie getting knocked into it and landing on him, knocking them both out. In his dreams he's getting sat on by a dragon.
Name: Alexander Weppler
Picture:

Height: 5’8”
Weight: 142

Abilities & Skills: He’s very nimble and has quick reflexes, accounting for his trademark of slipping past enemy defenses to take advantage of weak points or run away if little chance of victory exists. He’s physically fit in all areas thanks to daily workout but is better at speed than raw strength. He doesn’t have bulging muscles, but instead a well toned and slender body to show for this.

He’s well trained with a dagger and short sword as well as hand to hand combat of a style similar to street fighting; nothing fancy, just trying to get the job done. He’s not above fighting dirty and is good at improvising weapons such as scooping up rocks or dirt to throw at the opponent’s face. He’s skilled at baseball, being a popular player in high school, and such skills lend it’s support here.

Equipment: Dagger and short sword (24 inches long) on his belt of a material similar to steel in strength. Not your average medieval weapon, they were forged with all the modern advancements as well as spiritual processes making it powerful against special monsters found in his setting, although this boost is irrelevant against other humans. His clothing has fibers within protecting from monsters, but this too is irrelevant here.

Optional Flavor Text: From the setting he came from there exists monsters which invade earth from another realm. Although largely cloaked in secrecy, the fact that monsters exist is a known fact. Certain families often contribute to the cause of fighting against them throughout the generations, training their children from a young age to fulfill their duty. Alexander was adopted into one such family after his parents fell victim to a monster attack.

He's assigned to participate in this tournament for training.

How are the sheets coming along?

I am hoping to get it done tonight

Technically true! However, a hundred-foot-long spear would be absolutely useless as a weapon. The thing would have to either be too heavy to move, or have a shaft so thin it would snap like a twig.

If you want to hit someone a hundred feet away with a spear, you use a javelin.

I thought of a funny application for the technicallity of the power. If she created a long enough spear she could stab the moon and crawl up it if she was wearing a spacesuit...and if the spear with thick and strong enough to support it. I don't think that's troll science, it would just have to stick in good, I think. But perhaps it would get torn out no matter what from the forces of its orbit, like if the moon material isn't tough enough.

Or she could create a weapon large enough to create its own gravity on par with a planet or even a black hole, but I'm just taking things to extremes here.

Now she could create weapons too large to wield effectively but use other creative applications for them, but this power you have is perfectly fine and balanced to me if she uses it in the intended purpose.

This sounds fine, look forward to seeing your sheet, your opponent is ready.

Okay.

This will likely be my worst fight since I'm not a master at realistic combat styles so will have to try and win through overall strategy rather than combat technique. I hesitate giving any character any sort of advanced martial art, otherwise they would look like a fool doing something not within the style. One reason it's taking forever to come up with modern character. Hopefully his pointy sword will help him out.

Edit: @Drifting Pollen

I trust you and all, but according to the character sheet it seems like she could create a hundred foot long spear. Just throwing that out there.
This just turned into LeeRoy's thread.

Obadiah isn't gonna stand up to a whole lot by himself. He makes for a good distraction in a team, but he lacks stopping power. That kinda limits my options on who to fight.

I could bring in a much more powerful villain and see how far I get?

Fighting Evvie does generally require significant stopping power unless he sneaks around and "cheats". Bringing in a powerful villain to help could work or Obadiah could get a buff like he allies with deadly spiders who were crawling around somewheres.

And example of his cheating could be putting spiders in the cake that the heroes are baking in the castle and they could attack from the inside of the spider avoid getting bitten on the way down. That wouldn't be much of an arena battle though. The spiders dodging chomping teeth with spider sense would be quite the unusual fight.
