Current I'm gonna give this place another try. A few years ago college was stressful for me and I honestly don't remember the crap that went down. So, I'm the kind to forgive and forget.

Kicking me out of a Discord and banning me from a roleplay thread because I have the audacity to want to talk about guns, in a fandom where your characters shoot guns is asinine.

I guess i'll just stay out then. What is it with this site and not being allowed to play a monster or an evil character?
<Snipped quote by Jaredthefox92>

Maybe, if it is with in reason and able to socialize with the others, there is an off chance we could scoot them in.

Also, things are really shaping up! Excited.

@Aristo

I think maybe a day or two more and then we can set up the OOC.

I can actually do that, I have numerous mythological characters able to socialize. I could do for instance a version of the Greek giant Polyphemus, as a woman. I can also do a Minotaur or Centaur,as well as perhaps the Scylla monster or any one of those.

Might I suggest her? I mean I can be the other creatures, it's just I have a visual reference of her.

Note: If I can be her I can make her smaller, I just known that in the Odyssey the giant is bale to pick up and swallow men whole easily. I can also make her more human in form, (this is just a FC version of that classic Greek character for my personal lore.) I can play her as just a giant one eyed lady.
I'd like to be a Greek mythological monster, but I don't know if that would be allowed.

Okay, so maybe

1.) If you're born with the gift to use magic (I assume not everyone can use magic) you're taken to either a special school or there are "special education" courses spellcasters alongside their normal courses.

2.) I could see the change to the Constitution happening after a 2nd Witch Trials when we realised that magic users we're on our side and not against us.

3.) I dig the shadow entrapment! Either tangling someone up in their shadows or taking control of an opposer's shadow by connecting yours to their's (akin to a Shadow Possession Jutsu in the Naruto franchise). One could go even further by manipulating water, vines, earth etc to entrap someone.

4.) Enchanted guns or bullets? Enchanted handcuffs? Maybe even prisons that negate magic!

1.) Perhaps, I mean I would hate to make magic sort of like a "Jedi only" thing, however there could be more people sensitive to magic. Then again you can just make your character already sensitive to it as long as everyone doesn't go overboard.

2) Bingo! It would be an interesting development. Maybe there would even be witches and mages in the US government who lobby for this as well. It would be an interesting twist to have magic gone through a legal process and then state sanctioned and regulated as is anything else.

3) I think the justus idea would work here, but let's not make it harmful unless you're evil and you know how to do that to basically kill someone. However, it may take concentration and usually isn't the best tactic when you're in a sporadic gunfight.
Just a shot in the dark here, but what does Orc dialogue sound like? Could you tell me about their racial strengths/limitations and culture?

Right, well I wasn't thinking of them talking like an orc in Warhammer. Rather they would perhaps have a grunting and sort of straight forward like accent, (sort of like Orcs in Warcraft instead). Some of them would be able to read and write, but education would be varied and perhaps meager due to being shortly after the end of the civil war. Tribalism would even perhaps be a part of their culture and thus they probably went back to their tribal heritage after being freed in the war. As far as strengths I'm thinking of some very orcish ones. Such as, but not limited to:

.Durable, hardy, and very strong. Classic Orc type. (Think like John Henry type of characters.)

.They would have shaman ritualistic magic, old ways done by chieftains and local shamans.

.Orcs would have great health, and may heal naturally faster than a human.

.They can use most modern devices, but are prone to breaking more fragile pieces of technology. However they can melee very well in case their tools have to be used for defense.

.They may or may not be good at particular craftsmanship.

.Strong unity towards other non-humans, but also can be friendly towards humans. (The mentality of "human/ white" superiority would still be around until what would be the future in this universe. This is historical.)

Some limitations would be:

.They can easily break tools.

.They're not the most educated bunch, then again they just came out of slavery.

.Their magic maybe very old fashioned, like centuries old and shamanistic.

.They cannot mount horses, they will break the backs of said steeds with their natural muscle mass.

.Others may still see them as inferiors, and a lot of the law still tries to mess them over. (Think Jim Crow laws.)

1.) So maybe a little bit of "magepunk"? For example, locomotives would be powered by coal and a guy in the back is superheating it with fire spells. Permits should be treated like driver's licenses. If you get busted for casting without a license you'll need to pay a fine, or if your job requires you to use magic you need to have a permit and have been pracisting for x-number of years.

2.) Bingo! So if you're a bail bondsman you'd be specially trained in say scrying and binding.

1) Exactly! No reason there cannot be practical or peaceful application of magic in this. I mean this is in a established country with most people not trying to do anything malevolent. More than likely magic would be under the law such as guns would. Heck, we even could make a unique amendment to the constitution in this universe that dictates the rights of a magician or the magically inclined. There's several ways to go about this.

2) Yep, officers could even use spells to negate magic or perhaps hold people in arrest without harming them. Maybe even tying up their shadows so the person being arrested cannot move or something. The law would have magic and know how to deal with as well, makes sense like how officers would have guns in real life.
Yo, this sounds legit! I'd be down! Maybe:

1.) A Sheriff's badge is--upon closer inspection--etched with runes that protect him or her from basic, low-level spells (scrying, fire, and maybe offers bullet deflection?)

2.) Maybe there are specific rangers for specific situations? Magic, monsters and so forth.

Either way, I'd be down for something like this! I have an enchanted cowboy sitting around somewhere I'd like to give a whirl if I'm chosen!

1) That's a good idea, but perhaps magic is able to be practiced under permit? I would deduce that not all magic is used for fighting. Since the invention of the steam locomotive it maybe useful in steam technology or to transmit morse code. It could also be used for practical applications as well on the homefront. I'm thinking that magic can complement technologies that were invented around this time period.

2) Perhaps, plus there will be racial advantages and disadvantages as well.
Okay, the starter is up, but it's also being worked on as ideas come along and I try to balance everything. I would love for support and some suggestions in this, however you can also go ahead and write your starter CS's in the OOC section as well. The roleplay shall be called Legends of the West.
