Bio

Hey all, JB here.

I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).

I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!

I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!

Please feel free to say hi at any time!

I think it's the tagging everyone bit that we're trying to phase out since it's a bit of a waste of time.

Heya yourself! Welcome to the guild, and have fun! :D
The group pressed forward, all hopping into the Folding Boat they had just procured. The vessel came with a pair of oars, and the strongest among them began to guide the group south among the winding sewer tunnels. It wasn't far before a light was seen ahead, accompanied by the chanting in a language most did not understand. Eilina, however, was ready for this after hearing Yvah mention the fishies.

Darkness come and drag us under
Break the Platinum God asunder
Hells and Waters join unseen
And raise to power the Dragon Queen!

Eilina repeated the chant aloud for the others to hear. "It seems their goals are quite clear," she whispered to the others. "But the matter is... how. Something as dreadful as this would require multiple deities working together.... The kidnappings! They were going to sacrifice us to some fiendish god! If they're chanting like this, they must have started already! That's probably why all the guards had left."

She urged the group forward into a narrowing of the sewer tunnels. A final bend, and a large room could be seen, likely some sort of mechanical workings for the sanitation department of the city. The chanting was clearly audible now, although the language still unknown by all except Eilina. The bow of the boat was too long to get a good view of anything other than the edge of the water, but a bridge could be seen in the center of the room spanning the sewer river. Unless the group wanted to go swimming, it didn't look like there was a subtle way in.

This looks pretty fantastic. I had a character for a similar RP on a different site, but sadly the DM got too busy to continue it. If I may, I'd like to toss my hat into the ring. Should I send a PM with his info now, or wait for the actual OOC topic?
With a clash of darkness and steel, the Cerberus trio were banished and destroyed, proving no match for our band of adventurers. As the shapeshifter's claws rent the last dog's flesh asunder, the warlock released his held spell, returning the banished Cerberus to us to prey upon, but the form lay unmoving in the water. We had defeated the guardians of the Verdant Stream, and before us lay the entrance, wide open and beckoning us forward to explore its caverns. And yet there was just one more thing I needed to take care of first.

Using her last third level spell, Jill turned towards the aura of Darkness and waved her hand as it dissipated into the shadows, leaving Koan and Noriam visible. "Kneel!" she commanded to Noriam, who felt his knees buckle beneath him as he was forced into a kneeling posture. She approached, her radiant glory shining brightly in a majestic fury. "The next time you banish an enemy I have brought low, I swear upon the heavens..."

The light from her eyes faded and she looked down towards the warlock, her demeanor changing back to her normal perky self. "Nice work, everyone! Let's go on in before more of those guys come around!" As she passed by Adrevz, another healing touch was shared, and the tiger received 10 HP.

Cynthia looked on the display with minor confusion, but shrugged as she followed Jill towards the Verdant Stream. As long as the aasimar did not turn her wrath on herself or her druid friend, she had no reason to worry. This was certainly an odd bunch, however.

The Green Man finally appeared, and it seemed he was as bull-headed as everyone else Katia had met in this place, accusing them of bringing shadows into whatever this place was supposed to be. Cesar wanted a duel and Wick wanted to parley, but the enemy wanted to fight. What should she do? Her instincts told her this man would not easily back down, but to attack now would be to betray the plans her allies had made. The only option she could do was to test him.

Without concern for her own safety, Katia backpedaled away from the Green Man, knowing that if he were bent on serving their destruction, he would attack her before she moved too far. She gripped the handle of her quarterstaff tightly, and braced herself for what was sure to be a painful exchange, but hoped that somehow Wick's words had gotten through to him. Come on, Green Man, don't be stupid. We don't want to hurt you, she pleaded silently.

The Cerberus, finding the large fluffy target to be the most easily reachable in its current state, reached out at the tiger with its maws, biting and snatching at it despite its fear. Two of the heads connected despite the imposed disadvantage, tearing at the tiger's stripes for a total of 22 damage. Too afraid to move, it remained still, its gaze flashing around at the opponents that now outnumbered it. Would a cornered dog prove the most dangerous? or the most pliable?

Likely the latter, as Cynthia's blade arced through the water, piercing its flank twice with its electric zolt. "Down, doggy," she called out with a chuckle as she dealt a total of 33 damage to it. The Cerberus is looking rather rough at this point.

Katia had walked in silence beside Wick, either unwilling to contribute to the conversation around her, or simply ignoring the majority of it. She was lost in her thoughts, which right now was a dangerous place to be lost in. The despair she felt was deeper than any wound she had yet received as the realizations continued to sink in. She would never see her home, her family, or anyone else she had ever known. Dead, all of them, as if they had never existed. All that remained were her current company, including this daft wizard and the hasty foreigner. What even was their purpose in travel? Perhaps they could prevent this fate from befalling another plane, but what about their own world? Could they ever bring it back?

She thought back to her time when she had first met Wick. She was never smart enough or talented enough to be one of the Master's pupils, but still she had spent almost every day with Wick and Ruron, often as an example of how to not approach a problem. It was at that temple that Katia had finally managed to control her wanderlust, to consider the possibility of remaining in one place for a time, to start a family perhaps. Was it the teachings of some great wizard? The companionship of a child prodigy? The quiet smile of an angelic form?

Her musings were cut short when Wick had begun sputtering incoherently. Although much of the verbiage her friend used was well beyond Katia's understanding, this was a new level of incoherence Katia could hardly remember seeing before. She looked up, her gaze meeting that of Ruron, and froze. Was this a specter sent to mock them? An illusive man whose presence was incorporeal at best? Katia began to summon the radiant bolt, but held it in her hand as she glared at this assumedly false Ruron. "Who are you?!" she called, her voice torn between fear and distress. "Ruron is dead, along with everyone else! If this is a joke, your sense of humor is more twisted than the shadows!"
