Wait, now me and Screen Acne can't take Community: Secret Society. We would need to change the order or get Past: Share a Secret as a substitute.
Before we get distracted, @Cao the Exiled still needs to define his Need with @Pirouette, and if me and @ScreenAcne are going to be Secret Society buddies, he can't use a 6.
@Pirouette I like the way you think. Me and ScreenAcne are part of a cult that reveres a witch that was killed in this town during the pre-Revolution era, and the time is now ripe for her curse to descend upon the town. ScreenAcne's character is making a show of putting on the Festival, and is grooming your character as a maiden sacrifice. Mae and Cao are friends, and now share the secret of the witch, which Mae learns about either through investigation or by my character beginning to induct her into the cult. It's all very Lovecraftian.
Please note that extensive planning and worldbuilding prior to the actual start of the game is pretty much fruitless, since the narrative needs to evolve on its own and all of our plans will be ruined halfway through the game anyway.

@ScreenAcneSeriously, stop talking like that. It makes communication difficult and spoils the tone.
I propose a secret society that has infiltrated our town to the point where its arms are seamlessly fused to the workings of the town. At surface level they resemble esteemed members of the community, but beneath that their evil seethes. It could very well be connected to or be the source of Mae's secret. Even my character's marriage to her mother could play a role.

@ScreenAcne I was thinking that our relationship would be either Past or Community. You would be an adult community leader organizing the community events and @Pirouette would be a student volunteer. I feel like Community: Secret Society or any Past one would work excellently.
@MaeDoesn't my and @ScreenAcne's relationship need to be assigned?

It's from the sourcebook, actually. Fiasco is a pretty raunchy game.
