I kinda already have an idea for a character that's based off of Mr. 5, just with dual Gunblade Revolvers and practically zero nose-picking. xD

It's all well and good telling people what setting you're proposing but if there's no exposition for the main reason of you being in said setting, what else is there to draw people in?

Another thing to consider is that VRMMO RPs have been done several times before on this site, so a bog-standard VRMMO RP might not cut it for some people. Maybe giving some details on what you have planned for your setting will entice more people to play, rather than rebutting someone who's asking for more information, this is supposed to be an Interest Check after all.

Reza, standing at 5'9", has attempted to drive his body to its' athletic peak and continues to do so through rigorous training and various sports activities, with his favourite pastime being basketball in order to aid with his accuracy, stamina and jumping capabilities. As such, Reza often clothes himself in baggy sportswear so that he is ready to go at a moment's notice. Staple items of clothing are his sleeveless hoodies, of which he has several, each with differing colours and designs. He is also never seen without sweatbands on his wrists. An accessory that he often colour-coordinates with his sweatpants.

He views the world through his deep, brown eyes which is often a redeeming quality for members of the opposite sex. His bleached-white hair manifested along with his Quirk, though the reason for this is quite unknown. During medical assessments undertaken before entering the Academy, it has been surmised that the manifestation of his Quirk simply triggered the rapid activation of his melanocyte-clock, causing the premature whitening of his hair.

He possesses a single scar on his left cheek that he received sometime during childhood. Outwardly, he doesn't let it bother him, however, he refuses to talk about how he got it.

Despite his past, Reza prefers to put on a brave face in order to prove to the world that he's just fine, when in reality he's far from it. Though his smile is usually sincere - followed by an outpouring of friendliness - the weight of responsibility weighs heavy on Reza's shoulders and sometimes it takes everything he has to prevent his mask from breaking. Oftentimes he can be found alone and staring off into space, no doubt mulling over the events of his past and how he could have done things better. Though whenever he's discovered in this state, Reza is quick to bring back his signature smile, stowing his demons back into the recesses of his mind and showing the world just how 'happy' he is.

Reza can often be described as "gung-ho & ready-to-go" at almost any moment. He seems to be in a big rush to get things done, however, this mindset has often gotten himself into dire straits from time to time. Couple this with his natural-born athleticism and Reza can really seem like a livewire to some. He has boundless energy and prefers to involve others in his plans so as not to be alone. His worst fear is having to face some insurmountable task on his own and to be found lacking, so he tries to surround himself with as many people as possible who he can then fall back on if he needs to.

Overall, Reza isn't a bad person. Some might be inclined think so, given that he lies to most of the people he knows about how he truly feels, but it's not something he does with the intention of hurting anyone. He just prefers to fight his own demons so that others don't have to.

_{Personal History}

Reza doesn't remember much of his early childhood, only that he was taken from his parents around the age of 5 when his quirk manifested. His kidnapper happened to be the leader of a criminal organisation operating out of Tokyo; a notorious villain who called himself The Toymaker. He had made a name for himself through a series of kidnappings that had rocked the relatively low-crime area of Chiba-City. The most notable detail surrounding these kidnappings was that each and every child had left their families seemingly of their own will, though it was soon realised that The Toymaker possessed a quirk which allowed him to control the minds of children under the age of 12.

During his time in captivity, Reza was forced to commit several crimes for the organisation. The most frequent of which was theft, making Reza somewhat of a modern day Oliver Twist. He was also forced to make good use of his quirk for the organisations various needs, which in turn proved to be valuable training, though he was unable to ever utilise it against his captors due to The Toymaker's influence over him. As the years passed, Reza found himself becoming the protector of the other kids who had been kidnapped alongside him and even the younger children who had been taken since. They looked up to him as an older brother and he vowed to find away to free them from The Toymaker's grasp.

It was on his 12th birthday, however, that he barely managed to escape from captivity. Rather than simply offering him back to his parents, The Toymaker had planned to discard of Reza permanently in order to preserve the secrecy of his hideout. Sensing that something was different, Reza opted to try and use his quirk against The Toymaker for the first time and, to his surprise, he was able to manifest a shield just in time to alter the trajectory of the bullet that had been fired at him to end his life. The result of which left a permanent mark upon his face.

His escape and subsequent discovery by the Tokyo City authorities made various headlines and provided the police with enough evidence and intel into The Toymaker's operation. However, upon returning to the location of his hideout everything and, indeed, everyone else was gone. Life after these events were difficult for Reza. Being reunited with his parents, who had since given birth to another child, proved trying since he was no longer the sweet, young son they once knew and loved. Reacclimation into the education system was even tougher since news of The Toymaker's exploits had brought along with it the unwanted fame of being one of his many victims.

Only one thing seemed to keep him grounded, however. The vow he made to his brothers and sisters to free them from The Toymaker. It was this promise that gave him the determination and focus he needed in order to apply for Ishin Academy, where he hopes to become a Pro-Hero like many others.

_{Character Development & Conceptualization}

Through Reza's unfortunate childhood, he knows first-hand what it means to fall victim to a Villain's crimes and to be utterly helpless in the face of injustice. With him I would like to explore various trials and mental issues he'll be faced with on his journey to becoming a Hero and in the wake of the traumatic events he's had to endure. First and foremost, Survivor's Guilt. I would like to see how Reza can possibly overcome this or utilize it as motivation to succeed and just how PTSD can affect someone who is striving to become a beacon for others. Whilst I was initially going to make him as an edgy/angsty character, I believe it's better to have the events of his past and his outward personality be almost polar opposite. There's a quote that mentions people with the biggest smiles are often ones who struggle the most, this is how I want to write Reza. A somewhat happy-go-lucky guy, who's eager to show off his abilities in order to prove to everyone that he's fine.

Another topic I wanted to explore is Family Estrangement, both with his parents and his younger sibling. At this current time in his life Reza feels more alone than ever before. He was living in a house with people who he used to know and hasn't really been able to reconcile what has happened to them due to The Toymaker still being at large, and now he has moved miles away from them in order to become a Hero, so that he may one day save those who he considers to be his real family. It would have been easy to kill off his parents like many people, myself included, have done in order to create trauma within a character's childhood. But I don't see many people touch on the idea of childhood kidnapping and just how it affects families once a victim comes home.

I would like to see Reza regain the love he once held for his family and finally accept his new sibling as one of his own by stopping The Toymaker. But I'd also like to see him evolve his reasons for wanting to become a Hero to something less selfish. Currently, his main reason is to save the other children he was kidnapped with but at some point Reza is going to have to stop viewing other victims as mere stepping stones or as practice runs for what he considers to be the "real thing". This, tied with reconciling his strained familial relationships, will see Reza evolve into a much more caring person overall. Maybe he'll even falter somewhat along the way, realizing that he might have bitten of more than he can chew in becoming a Hero.

Overall, I want Reza's story to be one of redemption and growth. I want him to be an example to others that no matter your circumstances, you can always better your situation and that no matter how dark times can be, you can always become a beacon of light to guide the way for others.

Reza's quirk, Jack In The Box, grants him the ability to manipulate and crystallize dust particles in the air in order to create crystal boxes, which can then be used as a means of attack, defense and mobility via conductive rods embedded in his arms.

Mobility
Reza can create a box that he uses to fly around. However, during highly stressful situations, Reza prefers to create a series of small boxes that act as stepping stones, which he can spring off of from any direction.

Defense
Reza materializes large wall-like boxes or smaller, more personal boxes that actually encompass him to protect him from harm and absorb damage.

Attack
Reza can launch small projectile boxes towards an opponent to shatter against them or create large boxes to try and crush his opponent. He can also attempt to capture them inside a box, preventing their escape or negating an attack.

Limits

Whilst Reza can create many variously sized boxes, they generally fall into one of four categories: Minor, Major, Mega & Giga. The strength and speed at which they can move depends on the size created. Larger Boxes are stronger but slower.

Minor: Can create up to (20) Boxes at any one time. The weakest in terms of durability, can be easily destroyed by a normal punch or an equivalent force. Requires a regular amount of dust to reach max.

Projectile Boxes: These boxes are the weakest but fastest Boxes Reza can create, they are typically used for distraction.

Stepping Stone Boxes: Somewhat sturdier than Projectiles, Reza can propel himself off of them with relative ease. Harder to hit because of their size and ability to be moved, but they are relatively weak.

Glove Boxes: The strongest of Reza's Minor-Sized Boxes. Reza covers his fists with these Boxes to add more damage to his punches. They shatter upon use.

Major: Can create up to (10) Boxes at any one time. The second weakest durability-wise, can be destroyed with a series of normal punches or one super-powered punch or an equivalent force. Requires an above average amount of dust to reach max.

Projectile Boxes: Stronger than their Minor counter-parts but slower. These are Reza's mainstay ranged attacks. They are also easier to hit.

Stepping Stone Boxes: Larger than their Minor counter-parts and much sturdier. They are far easier to hit due to their larger size and inability to be moved.

Capture Boxes: The strongest Major Box Reza can create. Used to disable an opponent but can be destroyed fairly easily from inside or outside sources. Insidious:

Having lived amongst criminals and thieves for the majority of his life, Reza has picked up many skills that one might consider underhanded; the ability to sneak and remain undetected, to steal without being seen, sleight-of-hand & even the ability to lie or manipulate. Reza has been a party to them all and has had to use them in order to survive on more than one occasion.

Perceptive:

Reza is very astute and usually aware of what's going on around him at all times, due to his time spent working in more unsavory places. Now, however, he utilises this ability to give himself the upperhand in both practical and social situations. He's very good at reading the mood of a room and knows just when to interject himself in order to change it to suit himself or others.

Welcome to the Interest Check for Ocean Horizon! This is an original roleplay that focuses on the surviving people of Humanity, who for the past two-thousand years, have been forced to live and survive upon an ocean spanning the entire planet. This roleplay will follow the adventures and exploits of a group who call themselves the rogue members of the Humanity, Sky Pirates. "Tyran, once a planet of technological brilliance and military excellence with an exuberance of weird and wonderful wildlife. But no longer. After the flaming rocks cascaded from the sky, the land blazed, the ground shook, the oceans boiled. Everything that once was is now a mere shadow, compared to what used to be. The population dwindles, water is becoming harder to find and food will soon become an issue. The world and its' people are dying."

You shuffle your feet and look down at the metallic, grated floor. Hearing the state of which your planet is in makes you uneasy, yet somewhat angry. You attempt to stifle the boiling rage deep within. Looking up, you notice the old scientist is waiting for your concentration to speak again.

"However, as with most things unfortunate, that is not all." He pauses, seemingly gauging your reaction and simultaneously gearing himself up to explain the next piece of information. "The once beautiful and revered creatures of our old wildlife still live. But not 'living' in a sense that we would call it. No longer are they the towering beasts we used to gaze up at in awe. No. Now they are mindless and tainted beings. Rampaging wherever and whenever they feel. Reports of these 'Monsters' attacking other dome cities have begun piling in. They have become a growing threat to our, already hindered, survival."

You notice the scientist squeeze his eyes shut for a moment, obviously hiding some repressed pain. After a short time, he regains his composure.

"You have been summoned here because you have just been transferred to the Special Warrior Offensive Response Division. Or S.W.O.R.D as you'd, no doubt, like to call it."

You automatically stand up straighter, pushing out your chest after hearing the title of the division you are now in. You give off an aura of intense pride.

"Your new mission under this division will be to locate and destroy any and all Monsters that may cause any kind of threat to our strained existence. Over the course of the next few days, you will be initiated into your new team and begin training for your new mission objective. It will be tough and, at times, treacherous. But if you heed the words of your Chief-Commander, you should be absolutely fine. Train hard and train well, the rest of our species is relying on you."

You try to go over the information, but your excitement is keeping you from thinking straight. You thank the scientist and turn around to leave.

"Recruit? Just one last thing before you go." You turn your head, acknowledging him. His face grows dark and more serious than before. You sense that whatever he is about to tell you is of extreme importance. "The Meteors. We now have reason to believe that...that when they fell from the sky, they brought something with them. Something that has altered the wildlife into these unimaginable horrors. When you're out there...just be careful."

With that you exit the old scientist's lab and head back towards your quarters.

The End of Our Days RP is set on a Post-apocalyptic world known as Tyran. The people of Tyran have been in existence for some millions of years. Nearer to around 3.6 million years if anything. However, for the past 23 years, the people having been living in an apocalyptic nightmare.

After their planet was struck by a freak meteor storm, most of the land, cities and population were destroyed. In those 23 years the remaining population have worked hard to survive. Due to the Meteoric Waste that was brought with the storm, the Tyrans can no longer live in one place. And so, utilizing anything they could salvage from wrecked cities, the population began to transform the least damage cities into walking behemoths. The dome-like cities kept the survivors safe from the dangerous world that they now live in. Their power is supplied from their two suns, Naal and Apol, using large solar-energy receivers mounted on top of these dome-cities. Since the storm burnt up most of the atmospheric clouds, it never rains on Tyran. However, there are huge water reserves below the ground known as sub-surface oceans.

The Tyran people frequently move around in search of weak spots in the crust of the planet, so that they might be able to dig out large wells to gain water from the underground oceans. However, with the Meteoric Waste plaguing the land, they cannot stay at a well for too long since the air that they breathe would become poisoned from the fumes of the waste. The only way for the Tyran people to survive is to move around, recycling pockets of clean air that are produced from the oceans below, until they can find a way to rid the world of the Waste. Their objective, however, isn't so straightforward. In recent times, the Tyrans have discovered that the usually peaceful wildlife have been tainted and transformed. Mutated into grotesque beasts and have set themselves upon the remaining survivors of the Tyran populace. Two Dome-Cities have already fallen to the Beasts and many more have been heavily damaged.

The Tyrans must now find a way to respond to this new threat if they have any hopes of surviving.
