Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

Abarat paused his stride, but kept hold of the chest while he considered the man. "Think he can carry a chest and shoot a pistol at the same time, Renna?"

Renna's mouth gaped open. Had he really just told Lorenzo De Valencio her name?! Idiot. "I don't know... Abarat," she said, emphasizing the other elf's name. "I think I'd rather not find out..."

His eyes narrowed and he hesitated, then set the trunk down, slowly. Meanwhile, the 3rd of their little group was also setting down his loot... a large keg of rum. His hand headed toward the hilt of his sword.

"Lorenzo De Valencio...?" Doubt flickered across Renna's features at the well renowned name and she eyed the pistol pointed at her uneasily. If this was really the famous swordsman, was she willing to risk gaining him as an enemy? He was obviously drunk though... would he even remember what she looked like come morning?

"Loren De Crap? Never heard of him..." said Abarat, the elf carrying the large chest. Of course, the pistol wasn't pointed at his chest.

The dwarf suddenly got out of the prisoner line. This was getting out of hand on her... fast.

I apologize for that delay, it wont happen again.

Glad you're back! :) He's got the pistol pointed at Renna, right? Not 100% sure if I'm reading that right...
Interested! Here's a rogue I created for another game using the Swords & Wizardry White Box rules, so I suspect the stats won't transfer straight over, but maybe close?

Renna's eyes shifted back and forth between the pirates still on their knees and this new potential threat. Or possibly ally.

She decided to try for the latter. "A little late, chap. But there's a lot to go around if you help us."

"A chest of gold to you, man, if you shoot this wench," the pirate captain called out, upping the ante.
This is a jump-in, make-it-up-as-we-go-along RP. So have fun! For characters, please keep it in the realm of non-godlike species. (no vampires, dragons, demons, etc.)

"This has been lovely, Captain," Renna smirked as she brushed the tip of the captain's own sword against his throat while her companions helped themselves to the pirates' recent loot. Too bad they'd celebrated by getting drunk and blabbing about their new found wealth all over this port town. Really, they were just asking for someone to try to take it from them. Why shouldn't it be her and her friends? "We should really do it again sometime."

"Now... against that mast, please," she directed, intending to have them bound there while her merry little company made a clean get away. Maybe they'd even alert the authorities to the whereabouts of the pirate vessel once they were far enough away.
hmmmm.... (thinking while typing, could be rambling. ;) ) something to do with the Forbidding? Or something else entirely? Maybe one of the other sets of elfstones is thought to be in troll country?

Though I also think runes and rocks when I think of trolls. Sometimes when I'm stuck for ideas, I like to browse deviantart. This is kinda cool: deviantart.com/fibacz/art/Rune-Circle…

Though I'm not sure exactly what it would do.
I'm having trouble coming up with a solid idea that feels big enough to fit the tone of the books/show. Some rough ideas, maybe together we can make it cooler...

* Our characters are Rovers and venture into ruins, end up discovering something high tech from the old world. But they have no idea how to use it. End up creating a lot of trouble.

* Two druids (maybe set in the pre-Allanon days) are charged with recovering some ancient books. This could be pretty open.

* ?? I dunno... what are your creative juices saying?
Hey! I might be interested. After seeing the show on Netflix, I went and read just about everything Terry Brooks has written. (And, as usual, the books are way better. )

I'll give some thought to some potential plots...
