Marilyn

The atmosphere had changed radically compared to Sophia's house, you could practically cut the negativity in the air with a knife in this area. And of course, this was the perfect place for hydes to be around, though Marilyn tilted her head around the way they were feeding off, usually, they tended to stick around their initial prey, which was a pretty obvious strategy, suck someone dry and go for your next target. This time they were half-assing the job, were they smelling an even bigger prey perhaps? or was a stronger hyde calling to them?. They would find out sooner or later anyway, as they were divided to be able to stop their gathering.

She was paired up with the detective girl huh? That might help her see how capable she was in battle, there was probably going to be a developed hyde around the docks which alongside a bunch of other weaker ones would make for a troublesome encounter. In the middle of her thinking, Clarissa had already left her to run off towards the docks first. Marilyn mumbled a bit before finally transforming into her witch form and running to catch up with her. Veronica had said they shouldn't waste any time but there wasn't any real need to rush blindly towards their areas.
Takuto

‘It’s a go. Meet at the usual, 1800 hours.’

Takuto still hadn't gotten used to suddenly hear a voice on his head, it startled for a moment, which in consequence caused the grip of the cup he was holding to break from the rest of the cup, splashing its contents to the floor and the cup itself breaking into lots of tiny pieces. He just looked at the mess for a while, before pinching his nose and deciding to get ready for the meeting, he would clean it up when he returned. It was such a bothersome power, even with practice he was just able to suppress it for a while, and even that still was an unreliable method.

He always went with a formal suit to the meetings, it put him in a more professional mindset to deal with the strange sort of stuff that lurked in zero time, not to mention it also looked nice. He decided to take the stairs as he descended from his apartment, he still wasn't in the right mindset to not worry about entering an elevator and turning it into a coffin for him and those who were with him. And looking on the positive side, going down five floors using the stairs must be helping his physical form.

Takuto still had plenty of time to arrive at the meeting, so he decided to take it easy and walk to their usual place, there was no need to rush. As he walked through the streets of Mahokyuo he blended with salarymen going to their own meetings, he wondered if one of them had won the magical lottery like him and just needed a little spark to awaken it.

Once he finally arrived he pulled out his keycard and entered the building, looking at his clock he was still fifteen minutes early, so he might actually have arrived before anyone else. He peeked over at the meeting room to see if someone else had arrived and noticed Hector. Well, that was to be expected, knowing him he might have already arrived before he sends them the message. "I'm here" Takuto said nonchalantly as he slowly entered the room and grabbed a seat. Hopefully today's task wouldn't be too much of a hassle.
Kurokami Takuto

Essentials

Full Name: Kurokami Takuto
Nickname(s): Taku, Faultline, Hazard
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthday: April 4th
Affiliation: Akechi
Personal

Personality:
A pessimist by nature and a lazy ass to boot, he tends to give in at the slightest sign of trouble and go with the flow to avoid any further problems, which is unfortunately how he became entangled in this conflict. Still, he adapts quickly to whatever situation he finds in and has more or less accepted his new job.

What he still has trouble living with is, however, his ability to put foot-sized holes in the ground by just standing if he's not careful. Having to walk in eggshells so that he doesn't cause any kind of property damage for the past few months has made him a lot more eager to understand how this soul stuff works. At least if he learned to control it Takuto could earn a promotion or two and make dealing with monsters and crazy people easier.

Takuto doesn't have any special love for the Akechi family, but if there's anything he shares with its leader it's his practical attitude, preferring results over any kind of flashiness, and not being ashamed of hitting below the belt if it gets the same or better results with less effort. He's also indifferent to the other two families, whom he groups most of the members in the crazy people category.

Likes:
Instant food
Payday
Quiet days

Dislikes:
Being handed important tasks or objects
Causing a scene
Property damage
Pissing off his superiors
Full Moons

Strengths:
Flexible: An open mind lets him keep his composure and accept new facts and situations as the new normal
Resilence: On a good day Takuto could take a car smashing into him and come up with a couple of scratches at most.

Weaknesses:
Inexperienced: He lacks any kind of formal training in battle, relying on his magic to be able to fight and defend himself.
Inept: Has poor control or idea on how his magic is supposed to work
Takuto's ability is useless against things that aren't solid and against other humans. So he's as vulnerable as the average person if someone decides to throw a punch at him or shoot a lightning bolt.
Hazard: He shouldn't be trusted with any kind of valuable objects

Relationships:
Touma Akechi: While he's somewhat thankful for his decision to offer Takuto a place in the family instead of just outright getting rid of him, Takuto fully knows he's just a tool to Touma and was probably "scouted" just so others couldn't do so first.
Hector Johnson: While a bit too strict for his liking, Takuto follows his orders to a T in order to not make him mad, he's already a possible liability on the battlefield so he at least should make himself useful.

Backstory:
❖ Aside from learning to take care of himself at a young age due to his parents' work, Takuto had a pretty average childhood.
❖ Spent around two years taking any part-time job he could take while looking for something that paid well
❖ About a year ago he would wind up returning late from an interview just as Zero Time began, and on a full moon just to make matters worse.
❖ Would manifest his powers for the first time when cornered by various zero time creatures
❖ A lack of understanding combined with panic would end up with him leveling an old building while trying to run away
❖ Found by Akechi mages soon after, who believed he was some new mage messing around in their area, ended up breaking the wand of one of the mages in half while trying to explain that he didn't get what was happening
❖ Then he would be taken to the Akechi headquarters. They told him that despite having no mage blood in him, whatever that meant, he had the potential to be a good lapdog if he was trained properly.
❖ It was either work for them or being punished for breaking a family artifact and damaging one of their properties
❖ Having his choice almost made for him, Takuto accepted and was welcomed into the Akechi family being assigned to Hector's squad.
Magic

Exceptional/Beginner/Competent

An aura around Takuto that weakens everything he touches or is a few centimeters around him to the point of being able to make the hardest materials break or shatter with little effort on his part as if they were made of tissue paper. Though right now he’s barely able to keep the ability from activating when he doesn’t want it to, though control sometimes slips when he gets nervous or loses his focus. Another facet of his ability that he struggles to control is the strength of the aura itself, it seems to fluctuate based on the situation he’s in and his own emotional state, one day tearing down a wall like it’s made out of paper mache and another day struggling to break a wooden box.

His ability also doesn’t seem to work on people, though he’s not sure if that’s an inherent limitation, or if he subconsciously excludes them from the effect, as monsters from zero time are affected by the aura. Takuto also speculates he might be able to reverse the effect of his aura, to harden things instead of making them brittle and weak. But that would require fine control of his magic, and that’s years away.

Other

Actually gets paid by the Akechi family for his work, though he gets deducted some of his pay in order to pay for an ancient wand he broke.

"Ah!, no I meant it as in I've been doing this for five years, not since I was five years old" Marilyn explained herself to Alicia. She wasn't sure if she was being sarcastic but she didn't want to take any chances. She wasn't even good enough to run without tripping at least once, she would surely have become food for a hyde if she was picked that early. With that out of the way, she listened attentively to Ms.Edwards, Pixies exchanging information was something new to her, but considering how Kephri usually was Marylin probably figured that she wasn't told because she never bothered to ask, much to her annoyance.

So the gist of their task was going to be an extermination job, good. Marylin was sure she could take on a mature hyde by herself, and with the others help the job surely wouldn't be too difficult. She briefly thought for a moment about asking for any kind of compensation, but for once she decided to save it for later. Once the mission was over she would have proved herself to be useful and that could be a bargaining chip.

"I can probably help up with tracking too" she began "I don't know what are the mechanics behind it but thanks to Kephri I can emulate the abilities of insects. Aside from that I could patrol and see if there's anything strange around the city."

Location: Class -> Cafeteria
Time: Morning
Mentions: None
Interactions: Open

Drowsily Mikhail exited his class, he hated morning classes because he would spend his time trying to not fall sleep rather than on paying attention. While grabbing his phone, he saw one of the strange creatures behind him. If he had to describe it would be a mass of black flesh sporting creepy long thin arms and seemingly no legs, dragging itself by using its arms at an amazing speed, soon followed by one of his classmates passing him by. Mikhail looked back at his reflection on the phone, he hadn't really thought about it until now but adding to the pile of mysteries it was weird that he saw his reflection just fine instead of seeing a shadow monster as the others had. Thought even the creatures that made up that twisted world changed day by day instead of being permanent counterparts like he had thought on his first few days here. Nothing about the situation made sense, and it was honestly too early to be wracking his brain thinking about it.

Mikhail went into the cafeteria to grab some coffee to wake himself up. Now with a bit more energy, he was thinking about skipping his next class to go to look for info in the library again. If he didn't find anything today he might have to go ask one of the locals about the shadows, as much as he disliked the idea. Some of them didn't seem too fond of foreigners and might just think he's mocking whatever myths they have, or do worse and feed him bullshit so he stops bothering them. Still, his last visit to the library hadn't been completely worthless, he had found the abnormal amount of people that went missing each year here. People going to work and never arriving, a camper's belongings being found without a single footprint or sign to point out their whereabouts and even one case of a kid just vanishing inside his room one night.

He felt a chill on his spine when recalling those cases. Mikhail had done his best to treat the things around him as mere topics to investigate and solve. It did distract him from the fact that if he wasn't just crazy and seeing things, these creatures were all around him and just like with that kid they can just snatch him up and no one will hear from him again. He shook his head, there was no need to make himself panic. There was no way to stop seeing them and fearing them will just make him go crazy sooner rather than later. In the end, it was a better plan to go to class, it'd put the topic off his mind for a while and it may be a better idea going to the library when there are more people around.

I'd be interested in this too. Still don't have a clear idea for a character.

Marilyn smiled at the pixie of the girl called Alicia "I've been doing this since I was a brat, so, uh, around five years at most I think" she said nonchalantly. Marilin most of the time she wasn't actually chasing around Hydes, but she wasn't going to tell them that of course, besides all that running and sneaking around must be of some use. From the ones that had told the group how much time they had been witches, it did seem like there was a huge time difference between her and them, still, Marilyn hoped they wouldn't rely on her too much just because of her experience.

Overall it seemed like Ms. Wright had gathered quite the colorful cast, from which Marylin had taken special notice on the amateur detective, she was probably not going to approve of Marilyn's money-making ways, and unlike the cops, there was the possibility that she came to the conclusion a witch was the one committing seemingly impossible crimes. Well, that's one positive thing to come out of the meeting, she would have probably never come across her if she hadn't come to the meeting.

On the topic of Ms.Wright herself, she was the textbook definition of a noble lady; kind and polite. Marilyn wasn't even sure if she could have the heart to hurt something, even a Hyde. Yet she did know about witches and had managed to send invitations to everyone here, which considering the size of London and how elusive witches (or at least her) probably were meant it wasn't an easy task. Given that Ms. Edwards was the one explaining the reason for the meeting, she decided to wait until the rest of the witches were done asking, as nothing came to mind.
Marilyn

Marilyn looked around the mansion like a kid in a circus. If she didn't know it was owned by a witch she would be probably trying to locate all the valuables that weren't nailed down. But alas that wasn't the case, and as of now they had been anything but rude to her, so she didn't have any reason to piss them off. Besides Khepri was the one that convinced her to join the coven, and she didn't want to ruin it for her, the poor thing liked the place so much she became speechless as soon as they entered the state.

Marilyn wondered what kind of person their host could be, all of them were pretty young, maybe with five-six years of difference between her at the youngest-looking one at most, so would their host be around that age? She probably wouldn't be able to take her seriously if she was younger than her but as long as she wasn't a stick in the mud she didn't really mind. She took a cup of tea and grabbed a random chair to sit in while waiting for introductions to begin. Well, it seemed one of the girls on the couch had already begun the introductions, so Marylin decided to go second "Hello Mary! We got sorta similar names. Mine's Marilyn, nice to meet you all" she said cheerfully as she grabbed another cup of tea.
Edit: It's done. Also @Inertia given that both are engineering students and loners Mikhail and Jason probably know each other, maybe a bit more than acquaintances but not exactly friends.
