He says and reaches for his drink. wanting to give her some time to react before he tries to do anything more. also it helps him to focus a little as he's still got some anxiety over how he's dressed he looks like the picture on his character profile. Sure it was solely his decision and so far he hasn't regretted it. bit it's also his first time out wearing a skirt and tights and the rest of the school girl outfit outside and in front of other people. after a longer sip he puts down his glass and continues.. "I'm Asuka, it's nice to meet you, what's your name?"

"I had made my own working pipboy once. used a 3d printer for the case and slipped in a cell phone where I had made a program to look like the interface. I had even figured out how to include the maps app but have it give the maps in black and white and then change the black to green and the white to black so it looked like the pip boys maps but be of the actual area I was in. that was fun to make." he nods remember that project even if he never did get around to wearing it out. "they still sound like will be fun even if they are much smaller scale. and you seem like a nice person too I do hope to see you around more."

wow I'm more rusty at this than i thought. okay, yes I still think I can do this.
I just gotta slow down and read the posts over a few times before I react to them. and I think if I start to go off on a tangent again instead of trying to fix that idea I'll just cut it off and come up with something else.

So from my characters perspective it's been a normal day, she went to bed had a strange dream and woke up in a cave, with a bunch of other people from town who also don't know how they got there, and one guy who doesn't look like he lives in town, which she'll at some point recognize as the hermit that visits town once in a while. Get told he's a real life member of a Guild she thought was only a town legend. but being as his story would explain all the strange things that have happened to and around her and better then anything else she can think of, She'll go along with it and then when she starts to learn about her powers and tries them out that'll fully convince her.

being as this is modern day, she'll also have access to modern day tech, and sci-fi stories. for additional inspiration and resources.

well since you brought up that point I'll one last attempt to clarify why I think the idea could still be done respectfully.

It would of been a fully conscious choice, it's just that instead of her having been presenting for a while and being fully used to that before hand. the whole magical cult idea that he was getting presented with in the dream would of been the impetus that gets him over the last of his reservations, and would be ready and wanting to present after that dream and gets what is needed to present properly on the way to the tomb before setting off.

and you can't tell me a "young, beautiful angel. [who] imprints upon them a burning desire to locate her Tomb" to recover an amulet wouldn't seem like the start of a fellowship or a guild that's going to take them away from their current lives to start a new more exciting one. and since he's going to be building a new life anyways perfect time change things in this new life that would of been much more difficult to change in the old one, gender being one of those things. we could have him be dressing up and acting the part on their trip to the tomb, as I'm assuming they aren't just zombie walking all the way there, but rather it's an urge to get there that put's it's self on the top of their list. with the idea that instead of having to deal with the issue of everyone knows him from before, she can make a first impression on most of them. As lets face it aside from her friend, she hasn't met most of the others also coming for the amulet yet right?

there would be plenty of time for her to reflect and acknowledge how she feels and why she chose this. As just assumed that would likely be the first thing that gets brought up after the change, is how she's feeling about the change and that would segway in to them reflecting on her life and how things where and how she wants things to go now. and it would actually make more sense to have that reflection be "on camera" if she has just started presenting as opposed to her already in the swing of things and likely already had talked that out with her friend before the start of the rp. Also Culture shocks don't have to be a bad thing, or something she didn't know about. As hearing, or reading about it is one thing, having it happen to you is another.

any if you still don't think I'd do that kind of character justice then that's fine, you don't have to say any more on why. I'll just play a female from birth character. and we can move on either way.

I never said it was against their will, I was trying to say it was something they where very much okay with and even had some reason to want to be on the other side even. just didn't want it badly enough to make it a priority over the other things. and when it happened the are surprised but not upset as it was on their list of things they wanted.

I'm not trying to stomp on anyone toes, or even try to keep in that aspect to my character, just explain where my mind was. I'll respect that you guys have different options on this so I'm going to drop it, and not bring that up again.

my character was born female and remains that way. I'll go with that as your right none of us need/want the drama and this has turned into way more drama then I wanted. So lets just forget I even brought up the idea of me playing a trans char and I won't bring it up again. Sorry for causing a mess.

okay, I can see that this is also not being taken the way I intended either and last thing I want to do is make people uncomfortable.
I suppose this does highlight how everyone's journey is different, as I wasn't just making this up wholesale. but putting in personal experiences and having the char be where I'm at pre change and then get to explore vicariously what it might be like if I had the means to do such a transformation, as it's one I think I would take if I had the option. I guess I would fit more on that gender fluid side of things as there are certainly times I would love to have the option and there are times it's not such a big deal to me. and just never had to think about it to much until now.

anyways, as I said the last thing I want to do is make people uncomfortable as this is supposed to be fun, so if it's going to cause problems we can just say my char has always been female.
