As James freely offered up his position, Freya tensed. He couldn't just leave his position, what about everything he had been working for up to this point? She was about to say something, before her father interrupted the train of thought that James had been going with. Listening to him next to her and offering up ways that he could shift and change to make this work warmed her heart. Once those words left James, she sniffled softly. "Oh, James..." She smiled up towards him and gave his hand a squeeze before turning back to her father.

Taking a moment, he turned his attention to Adrian who had entered in with the couple, but had stayed silent this time. "Adrian - you are one of my trusted confidants in regards to this company and what the future holds. I know personally from you that James is a hard worker and will completely dedicate himself to whatever tasks lie ahead. However..what do you think? Perhaps it isn't fair to ask you to take on even more work to train James into someone of proper knowledge to be able to support my daughter. Do you think it is a wise decision?" He asked, and laughed to himself, waving his hand. "Of course, of course. If I know Adrian, if he had even a doubt that you wouldn't be able to do this, I'm sure you wouldn't be standing in front of me." Looking back towards Adrian, he nodded. "Would you train him, Adrian? It will be like old times all over again."

"With that in mind Freya, you will have to start sorting out when to see your partners within the next week."

Nodding, Freya swallowed. "Of course! I was just going to start sorting out a visitation schedule with them and start to work on blueprints."
Freya practically slumped down in her seat once Adrian had given his opinion on the matter. What should she have expected? Of course he was going to tell her to speak to her father about the truth. He did have a point - this was her home after all. Thinking to last night that James had to resort to climbing the foliage outside her window so they could spend time together was not her ideal situation. Nodding, she gave a soft sigh. They were really doing this, it seemed. Glancing over towards James once he began to speak, she gently bit her lip. "Y-Yeah, I know..." Freya stood, and cleared her throat. "Well then, let's...do this."

The walk to her father's study seemed to be a longer one than usual. Her news were always happy ones when she walked through the halls, pushing the heavy doors open and seeing her father deftly working through his business for the day. She wasn't delivering unhappy news by any means, but she certainly wasn't going in with as much confidence as she had once done with her acceptance letter to her father in the dining room in what felt like so long ago. Knocking on the door, she glanced between James and the door before her father's voice called for them to enter.

There he sat, the master of the house looked up and his eyebrows rose slightly, surprised to see James beside his daughter on her visit. "Well, well. Not the guests I would think to receive this afternoon." Marking his place in his work, he set it aside to give the pair his attention. "Go ahead, Freya."

Nodding, she straightened her posture and cleared her throat once more. "Right. W-Well. Daddy, it's about the partnerships. I want to continue with them as our partners, it's just...I don't want to pursue any of them romantically."

"Is there something wrong with them, Freya? You've been seeming to get along with them up until this point. Did something happen at the party?" He asked, some concern showing in his aged features.

"N-No! Nothing like that! Well...maybe with one..." She grumbled and shook her head. "Anyway, no. I don't want to be with them romantically because I..." She glanced towards James. "B-Because I...I want to be...with James.." As if anticipating something terrible, she began quickly speaking again. "I-I don't care that he isn't from some really big family, because he makes me happy. He's so wonderful to me all the time, Daddy. Even when he isn't working. He's kind, and sweet, and...and.." She paused, realizing she was rambling, her cheeks growing hot.

A small silence filled the room before her father simply gave a hearty laugh. "Ah! I see, I see. Well. It warms my heart to hear you speak with such conviction, my dear. However - I am your father and even though I do want you to be happy you simply cannot drag James into our affairs. You are the heir to a business. A business that relies on your every decision." Turning his attention towards the young man beside his daughter, he raised an expectant eyebrow. "So, James. What are your wishes? I do hope my daughter hasn't talked you into going along with her wishes to run from her duties or anything of the like..?" As much as he wanted to go along with what Freya was saying, he needed to hear both parties and understand how this was to come together. He had no doubt about James' capabilities to adapt - that was what his duty had been up until this point.
*Bump*

Okay, I've got some free time. Let's start weaving something together.
Freya herself also looked surprised as Adrian casually tossed out that Charles was already in a relationship. She couldn't help giggling at the sight of James being scolded. Bringing the cup to her lips once more, her mind wondered if that thirty second rule was true. Watching the two of them come up with rather effortless solutions to what she thought would be quite the task to overcome, a bright smile graced her lips. "Honestly, I think the whole house would be in shambles without your combined efforts." Nodding, she glanced towards James. "I'll need to get in touch with Charles and figure out what works best for him...As for Alex..." She paused, staring at her small amount of tea left before finishing it. "We should meet with him sooner than later to establish what kind of relationship we want with them."

The conversation air seemed to shift from business matters to one of personal affairs. Her cheeks flushed at Adrian's ability to seamlessly shift from two different topics. Catching the small look from James, she cleared her throat, "R-Right. Well, we uhm...we planned to tell you at the same time, as I said - but...uhm...I guess now? If we wait too long it will look as if we were all keeping it from him and I'd rather not..." Setting her empty cup down, she looked to Adrian. "I will admit I'm not really sure how to approach Daddy. I mean, I could say 'Yes, hi - James and I are dating now' but I don't think that alone would sit well with him? You're around him all the time, Adrian. Can't you suggest...uhm...I don't know? Something? I know his plan is to have me with one of the heirs, to strengthen our namesake and all that, but...I want to be with James." To be honest, Freya had no game plan for what to tell her father. She knew that she needed to at least defend her position, but...would simply saying that she...trusted him entirely, and even...well...other things.

Let's tell some tales!! o vo

I do ask that if you are interested to please PM me! <3
James' gentle actions took Freya by surprise, and when he pulled back, her cheeks were flushed. Instinctively tucking some hair behind her ear and giving a small smile. His statement was correct, perhaps it would be better to tell them at the same time. They might save some time and be able to answer whatever questions might come from telling them...Was that Adrian? She felt herself stiffen, even if she was the next-in-line to take the manor, Adrian was one scary man! Swallowing, she watched as the serious male simply moved about his routine as if nothing had changed, pouring tea and silently inviting them to sit.

Hearing James start to fumble through his words, she gently squeezed his hand. "What...What James means to tell you, Adrian. We were going to tell you and Daddy. Honest, it's just with school and the party we just didn't have time so we just wanted to let you know that we--" Freya stopped, and let out a small gasp. "You..You do?" What was she kidding, of course he knew! It was true what they said - Nothing gets past Adrian. Seeing the rather parental stare he was giving them, Freya shrank back a little. Was she going to have to try to defend her position that she had taken with this? However, what they got instead was...was that Adrian's form of teasing? It was...odd. Her cheeks flushed. Did she really stare that much?! She had thought she was being rather secretive watching James as he went about his duties.

Slowly taking a seat, she was relieved to hear that Adrian wasn't mad. The air seemed to return to normal as James pulled the schedule out and hearing Adrian wanted to also give his advice, she smiled brightly towards him. "Me? Turn away your help Adrian? Of course not. I'd welcome your perspective almost anytime." Gently passing the tablet over towards Adrian, she took a small sip of the tea, letting the warmth pass through before speaking. "I know it's already obvious from how the party went, but Wonderland Amusement and The Porcelain Doll Company will be incredibly easy to work with. I haven't ever collaborated in doll making, so I'm not sure how to approach it. This is a pretty big deal - do we want to do something completely different than their current style to mark the start of a new era of dolls?"

Thinking of Wonderland, she laughed lightly. "I don't think we need to plan for Wonderland. I'm sure that I could come there today and we would be readily welcomed. I do have to say I'm not sure how to approach Charles. Steel and Manufacturing isn't something I'm familiar with. There's also the issue with Alex Durnham. I don't exactly care for that sport, but his father does contribute greatly towards our assets, but helps with the university and keeping it a pleasant place for everyone to learn. I would rather not meet with him at all, but I know that would probably be an impossible request. I'm drawing some blanks on how to approach the other heirs...So, perhaps I could use your input for that? I'm also unsure of when we would want to start meeting up with them."
@SinfulSkills No worries! I can't wait ❤
Hearing the door open from the kitchen, Freya looked up and was greeted with the beautiful breakfast options that James had prepared for them. "This looks amazing, James." She smiled, picking up some of the spinach from the vegetarian option. Once she finished, she excused herself, and found James in the kitchen, and gently tapped his shoulder. Aware that they weren't exactly alone, she gave a small smile. "James, would you mind accompanying me for scheduling meeting with the heirs from last evening?" Her time spent at home during the break couldn't be all pleasure. She still had a whole world waiting for her once she was out of school. Leading him towards the study, she closed the door behind her and sat down at the table. While she did plan to talk about the heirs and get James involved in what was happening, there was still the matter of...their personal affairs.

"So, I'm still unaware of the schedules of the heirs, I know I will want to meet with at least the Porcelain Doll Company to start talking about the limited edition sets, and paying a visit to Wonderland Amusement. You know...for strictly business." Freya smiled. "Also," She glanced over towards him. "There's still the matter of Adrian and Daddy. Have you informed Adrian?" She wasn't sure if he actually had, with the party going on last night and him spending the evening with her, if he would have even had time yet.
James was relentless as always with his teasing towards her with that know-it-all smile of his. She felt like he was taking his time removing his butler jacket and gloves as he simply shrugged off the incredibly dangerous thing he just did. It wasn't like James to simply toss his attire aside with little to no care about where it was going, and she opened her mouth to protest, before she found her eyes watching him as he removed his shirt as well. Feeling her cheeks grow hot, her eyes widened. W-Was he...serious? As he leaned down and gazed into her eyes, she felt her heart race. Nodding slowly, she couldn't stop her mind from running through all different scenarios, some more embarrassing than she would care to admit.

Freya shivered lightly as his breath danced on her ear. Looking up at him, she could almost pinch herself. A shy smile graced her lips and she gently took James' free hand. "I can't think of anything better." She whispered, leaning up to meet his lips and laced their fingers. She would definitely go through parties every evening if it meant that she got to spend the evening enjoying the company of her boyfriend. James had been standing all evening, so Freya pulled back and gently led him over to the bed. Once he removed his shoes she pulled him onto the plush sheets. Tugging the warm blanket up, she had him lie on his side and moved her arm to gently cup his cheek, claiming his lips again. It sent flutters through her entire body. She was going to take full advantage that she had James to herself for the evening. Full advantage to catch up on missed kisses and sweet words of affection towards the young man who had been so wonderful towards her in all aspects.

After some time, she yawned and settled in, letting her delicate fingers weave through Jame's soft dark blue strands. "In case...you're gone before I wake..." The sleepy young woman let her leg gently link with one of James' as she nuzzled into his bare chest, more than content with the radiating warmth of his skin. "..You're the best boyfriend." She breathed out, letting herself be lulled to sleep.

In the morning, James was already gone as to be expected. She gently laid her hand on the empty space beside her and gave a soft sigh. She had mixed emotions about him not being next to her in the morning. He did had a job to do, and that had to take priority over her own personal feelings for the time being. Taking a few moments to pull a nearby pillow to her chest and relish in James' scent for a moment longer, she decided she did have to actually get ready for the day. Washing away yesterday, she emerged from the bathroom and looked through her closet. Settling on something comfortable and cute, Freya sat in front of her mirror, gently brushing out her hair and pulled it into a simple braid that she tied a cream ribbon on the end, and headed downstairs. Yawning, she still was trying to fully wake up. Whatever was cooking smelled amazing. It didn't take the young woman long to arrive at the dining table where her father sat, greeting her with a warm smile. Happy to see her father's face, she gave him a small hug and couldn't help feeling a bit guilty about simply taking a seat nearby as she had still not told her father about how the nature of her relationship with James had changed.

"So, Freya. I trust you had a good time with the party last night?"

"Oh, yes. I wouldn't nearly have been as calm without everyone's help. I'm looking quite forward to getting to work with the future heirs and keeping these relationships as strong as I can." She smiled softly. A bit of small talk went between them, and her father brought up that she would need to start keeping records and having a sharp eye for her future business partners.

"If you have questions about anything, I'm more than happy to answer them. However, in the event that I cannot Adrian should be more than able to give you advice as well. James should also have some expertise there. We are all here to help you grow into the successful young woman you're going to be. Seeking help is almost as important as collecting knowledge." Hearing the sound of footsteps approaching, the two decided to end their conversation. After all, breakfast was still a time for everyone to come to their senses and heavy talk like that wouldn't end up sitting correctly with either of them later.
