They've all just been streaming in, meeting each other for the first time. Mine hasn't talked to anyone yet, haha.
Slowly Tara entered the room, walking slowly at the group fanned out. A few seemed to have gathered around a map of some sort. Figuring that was as good of a place to start as any, she heads towards them as a man breaks off, wrinkling her nose slightly at the disgusting smell of alcohol. She supposed she'd just have to get over that though... it seemed the hideout itself was a bar. Switching trajectories, the woman moves to Jacquelyn and Stiles, a small smile evident under her half mask.
Lingering near the door, Tara jumps slightly at the sudden voice over the speaker. … Right, that shouldn't have been surprising. She glares up at the speakers, searching for whatever had detected her. Sighing, she double-checks her mask and wig before silently cracking the door open. She had come all the way here. She had been seen. She may as well go inside. Stepping over the threshold the young woman sneaks in to see the large room and bar where a group had gathered. They seemed to be discussing some plan that she had missed the beginning of. For now, she stands quietly, watching and listening.
Tara had watched them stream in one by one from the shadows outside. If anyone had seen her, they hadn't reacted. Even now she wasn't certain if she would enter... the whole thing seemed a little... cheesy. Masks? All of them? She of course often wore a mask when she was playing her favorite persona but a room full of thieves seemed a little silly. Not to mention the red line. The young woman shifts and stretches, keeping her eyes open for any other guests to the masquerade she had been invited to. So far none of them had seemed familiar, which she supposed was a good thing.

When she had been invited she had been Hisoka, the girl with the elaborate costume, butterfly mask and messy, shoulder-length auburn hair. Today she was Rebecca. Long, straight brown hair cascaded down her back, thick bangs ending just above her eyes. She brought a mask, of course. Similar to her usual only entirely black. For now it rested safely inside her messenger back as she stepped out from her hiding spot several minutes after the last group had gone by. The red line brought her to a door and she stopped, still unsure. On went the mask but still she waited, unsure of what she was even waiting for.

Skills: A natural actress, Tara truly believes that all the world is a stage. Wearing personalities like costumes, she makes sense of the world and herself by choosing who to become to best fit the situation, emotionally manipulating people into getting what she wants. She is not a fighter, but has very good aim with darts and carries them along with a knife for picking locks.

History: Tara came from a broken home, her father choosing his career over their small family. Her parent's divorce left her mother a shell of the person she had been before, emotionally abandoning her only child. Bullied and ignored by the children in school, Tara's bitterness and naturally short temper left her hating everyone, including herself. It was when she was cast in a minor roll in a middle school play that she realized her potential to become someone else and before long... she had. As a character, her temper was mostly controllable. She could make people like her. She could be someone who was loved. Only no amount of acting could bring back her parents... or even cause her new-found friendships to mean anything. After an unfortunate incident involving the death of the closest person she had to a friend, Tara runs away, stealing her mother's jewelry and pawning it for passage into the city. It didn't take long to situate herself comfortably enough, living off the good nature of others with her lies. Lying lead to stealing. Stealing lead to bigger cons. Her entire life became a game of tricking others for both her dinner and personal amusement, and stealing what she didn't necessarily need simply to torture others.

Other: Tara hates her real name and never goes by it, choosing to live as her characters instead.
Room for an actress? I see that there already am actor. Also, my character isn't the type to work well with others at first so she wouldn't be part of the group yet. Does your story set-up have room for group outsiders?
I may be interested. I'd prefer something after the 100 year war but this might work for me.
Hey there! I'm Lior and am entirely new. I've been roleplaying a few years now. I started on SL, having absolutely no idea what I was doing, but quickly fell in love. When our community died I went through serious withdrawals and now a year and half later I am dying to get back into it. From what I can see from a quick look at this site, this will be a perfect way to get back into the hobby! My old community was based off Avatar: The Last Airbender so give me a PM if there's any interest from you guys with that. I may have a formal proposal together in the near future if anyone would like to join in on it with me. I mostly RP a paragraph at a time, but am pretty good at adapting to both longer and shorter styles as needed.

Thanks for listening to me ramble, I hope I'll be able to enjoy myself here :)
