@Bitterblue111@sassy1085@IronPhinx Wow, more interest than I expected! Care to share your thoughts on a few things?

How real would you want it to feel? (For example, going into politics, law, military intervention and injuries/death)

Would you want the story to focus on a group (like how HTTYD focuses on the Draong Riders) or individuals (perhaps scattered as far as world-wide).

How do you feel about allowing dragon species from other franchises or custom made species?

How do you feel about allowing some individuals to speak with dragons (though magic totems or dragon telepathy).

Outside the Cafeteria
Interacting w/ Gracie @IronPhinx

A soft voice, so soft it could hardly be heard came from a distance. Melanie looked up to see the doe's mouth was moving, so she smiled and rolled her snowball closer to hear better. The girl seemed a bit self-conscious about building a snow animal.

Mel shook her head, smiling reassuringly. The doe seemed even more shy than herself. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. You know, hadn't realized how much I missed playing in the snow until I saw you. And look-- we're not alone anymore!"

Indeed, Gracie and Melanie had inspired others to enjoy the snow themselves. Two penguins were making snow angels, a white bunny was rolling a snowball, and a bear was building a fort. Mel watched them laugh and smile as they enjoyed themselves.

After a short time Gracie smiled, introduced herself, and offered her hand. Melanie hesitated at first, looking up at the hand in front of her almost in shock. Most people wouldn't look at a skunk, let alone touch one! But the moment passed and Mel got to her feet and shook the doe's hand with a gentle but enthusiastic shake. "M-Melanie... Or you can call me Mel... I'm a 1st year student," she answered, with a nod and shy smile before letting go. Mel's hand seemed to keep shaking on its own even after she let go, from sheer nervousness. She tucked her hands in her pockets to hide the fact.

Feeling awkward, Mel glanced at her phone that was tucked finger pocket, never one for small talk. Her eyes widened. "Oh! I better get to class... It was really nice meeting you, um, Gracie. See you around campus, I hope?" Mel rushed. She turned and started walking away, waving as she went. She picked up speed, running toward class and leaving behind the doe and a tiny, 1 ft tall pebble-eyed grass-striped snow skunk.
History Building, Classical Mythology class with Mr. Rodney Bulman, 7:00AM.

"I made it!" Mel quietly exclaimed with relief as she entered the classroom. She walked as quietly and quickly as she could, finding a seat as close to the front as she could (skunks have poor hearing and eyesight) and pulled her glasses out of her backpack and put them on, blinking twice as she adjusted. She then took out her notebook and pencil and started to read through her notes.

About a minute later, Professor Rodney Bulman and his assistant Bobbie Lenox entered the room. Melanie smiled. She always thought it was kind of funny that a real life minotaur actually taught classical Mythology. But he was a great teacher that made his lessons fun. Plus, it was one of the few history courses that tied nicely into her art major. With any luck, the class would go by quickly again...

In the days of the Vikings, dragons were real and roamed all across the land and sea. They were fearsome, but those with good, pure hearts could tame them. But many feared the awesome creatures and their riders and soon raged war against them. To end the war, the Alpha dragon lead the other dragons into hiding, awaiting a time that humans and dragons could live in harmony.

Now one thousand years have passed, and the dragons are emerging from hiding to try again. What will happen when dragons show up out of nowhere in the modern day? Will humans try to wipe them out, or will they find a way to live together peacefully?

I agree, the Acorn is probably the best mascot for Eukary University. Choosing a specific animal doesn't feel right.

So how about this? School colors are mainly Green and White with Gold/Yellow accents (or maybe brown if you guys prefer?). Roughly, this is what they would look like. But imagine a big "E" or "ACORNS" or the acorn mascot.

As you run away from home, school, work, or life you hear a blaring horn and a train with glowing green lights pulls up before you. You approach closer.... and get sucked into a swirling green portal and thrust into the adventure of a lifetime.

You find yourself on an endless train with cars full of strange worlds and denizens. On your hand is a glowing green number, that seems to go up or down depending on the things you do. To get through each car and open each door, you will need to beat puzzles, complete tasks, and help others. Along the way, you will make friends, learn lessons, and solve your problems. With luck, work, growth, and the power of friendship, your number will go to 0 and you will earn a door home.

Many denizens are your friends and allies and want to help you along the way. But beware, not everybody is on your side. Look out for monsters, scary robots, and shadow-roaches.

And then, there's the Apex. They are a group of human passengers who do not want to leave the train. They strive to get the highest number by raiding cars, stealing, or worse--killing denizens. They may try to recruit you. Or perhaps, you are already one of them.

The Roleplay:
You have the choice to help build different worlds and/or travel through it as a roleplayer.
You can play as a denizen (a citizen of the train, they are highly complex computer programs capable of real pain and emotion)
A passenger (a real person, marked by a number. Their goal is to get their number to 0 so they can return home)
or an Apex member (a passenger who's goal is to stay on the train forever, often have very high numbers).
Your character will travel solo or in small groups, exploring cars and possibly eventually returning home.

Melanie's ears perked at the sound of doors opening and closing. She looked to see a tall and pretty doe. To her surprise, the deer smiled and nodded rather than scuffing or avoiding her presence. Mel raised her paw in a shy greeting and smiled back, until the girl disappeared around a corner.

Maybe I should think smaller. Instead of jumping into a whole group of people I can get to know just one more person... and maybe she can introduce me to things and people she knows.. Melanie pondered, around for any sign of the kind doe. Mel sighed. The girl was no where to be seen.

Mel carefully dabbed her face and long hair with a napkin, taking care to catch every stray droplet of milk. She picked up her tray and returned it to the dish washing station before putting her gloves on and heading out.
Eukary University Quad, outside the cafeteria

The air was cold and crisp, but the sun was rising and it cast a warm glow over the campus. The snow from last night had stopped, and there was a blanket of glistening, fluffy snow just beginning to melt in the morning light. There was a little bat with a big cello and an owl, probably requesting a song. Melanie was considering joining them and requesting a song of her own.

Mel adjusted her snow-white winter jacket as she gazed over the landscape and was surprised to see the nice doe from earlier, building a snow-animal. Mel smiled nostalgically at the slighter, then took her phone out of her pocket and glanced at it for the time. Fifteen minutes...

After a deep, cold, breath Melanie walked a little closer to the girl, waved, smiling nervously, and then got down on her knees and started rolling a snowball.
@BizarreLolli Sorry I missed your post. I hadn't thought about a mascot. Eukary University is about diversity and including all types of animals, and its name comes from the domain Eukarya, which includes plants, animals, and fungi. The root word roughly translates to "good seed", which kind of makes me think of something like an Acorn as a mascot with green, white and gold accents. But that's not very intimidating...

Eagles work, though... If we go with eagles, I'm thinking of something like this. Blue, with white and orange accents.
But bright green and black and white works too. You're thinking something like this?

I imagine most if not all sports teams would be given jerseys and jackets with school colors and mascot.

Everybody: Anythoughts on colors and mascots?

@ZanavyI imaged nocturnal animals as having an inclination toward being a "night owl" rather than being truly nocturnal. In the world I've crafted, the reason animals are so people-like, is that somehow (through a virus, or alien or divine intervention) animals were infused with human DNA. But, every animal/person is different, and there are still many truly nocturnal people and lineages (which means you can do whatever you want.) =)
@Myling No, they don't. Unless you guys prefer that they do, I am always open to comments, crit, suggestions, and retconning as needed. =)
@Argetlam350 That wasn't directed at you in particular. No need to change anything. =) I just wanted to remind people that they're not limited to college students.

Everybody: Post is up. Sorry it's not much of a post, (kinda in a funk). But I promise, there will be more action and drama coming soon!
