Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

Bio

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

Looks good! Add it to the CS tab and you’re free to get posting.
@ihinka

Not bad, only a few things to nitpick. For starts claws are just 1d4+ strength, not sure where you’re getting the +1 from with your neutral strength. You do not add your proficiency modifier to damage. Skills you are specifically proficient in do get your misfire however, so make sure you bump up your Perception, Stealth, History, and Insight by your Peoficency Bonus. Lastly if you could specify what artisan tool you have in your inventory, that’s be helpful.

Get those corrected and call on me again. Then once I give it a once over you’ll be approved and you can post.

Edit; one more thing, the Frontier Town has only been established for 3 years, and it your history would imply that the town, plus Underhaven, have been around for almost 14 years. Do correct that.
@ihinka

Fine with me, just make sure you read up about the rules for character creation.
@ihinka

Yeah sure come tag in.
Ethan

Ethan's jaunt through the forest was quiet, serene almost. Though the thick canopy put the forest road under a dark shadow, it also provided a wonderful shade for an otherwise rather warm mid autumn day. Especially with Ethan so winded from his quick walk back to the crossroads, a cool shade would be most pleasant for him, perhaps along with some fresh water and a crisp fruit or some such. Alas, not all was peaceful in this forest. Soon Ethan would come across a ghastly but not entirely unusual sight; a dead fox in the middle of the road, being eaten by two blood-red hawks. These hawks were quiet large; one was at least as big as Ethan's torso, and the other was just a few inches smaller. They tore through the fox easily as if they were ripping apart a roasted chicken, devouring it's corpse with gusto.

Ethan would need to be quick in his decision making; should he hide and wait fore the hawks to leave, taking longer to get to the village, perhaps try to sneak around the blood hawks, or maybe even just run through and hope for the best? Perhaps he should just flee from these two birds of prey? The choice was his.

Livia

Before Nicolas could speak up, Monita went over and picked up the mewing kitten. She gave Livia a look of resistance but also a touch of fright. "You can't! They're my kittens!" The mayor sighed, walking over to his granddaughter and patting her shoulder. "Now now Monita, that was rude. Apologize." The little girl looked down and whispered an apology. Nicolas just gave her a firm stare and she spoke up more loudly. "... I'm sorry. It's just... It's my responsibility, to take care of the kittens. That's my job." Nicolas smiled and stood up, picking the kitten out of Monita's hand to give to Livia. "Forgive my granddaughter, ever since she arrived to the town she wanted to make herself useful. She's taken it upon herself to take care of all the stray cats around here, and their kittens. Feel free to have as many as you wish. If you feel like they've become a handful, Monita would gladly take care of them for you."

The kitten seemed pretty passive in Monita and Nicolas hands, but once returned to Livia the little creature was ecstatic. It's been so long since he's gotten to play with new people. He would paw and wave towards Livia until he was finally in her possession, where he would proceed to crawl and play all over her until he'd wear himself out in about ten minutes.

Keal

It would take Kael quite some time before he would narrow down his listen to potential people who might be his father, and it was still roughly thirty people. They were older gentlemen, human by their description, who would armor and used weapons similar to what Kael would expect, each one have a written description that could possibly be his father sans a few minor details such as some being clean shaven, some wearing their hair short or long, and with certain articles describing the male as being fair skinned or tanned, either which could possibly still be Kael's father considering how often he may spend outside out of his armor. Each of the descriptions had one constant at least; they all came to the Temple for commission some sort of service, typically a repair job for their equipment, stayed in the town until the job was done, and left the Frontier Town. What their reasons for being in the Frontier was mixed or simply not written; most were just vaguely described as "On a quest", with the most detailed being some sort of investigation regarding a guild of thieves. Additionally most of these men had no given name and simply their description, and even those who were named had names that were fairly generic; names such as John, Adam, Bob, so forth. Even the scribes who wrote these receipts ponder if these are true names or just aliases.

As Kael was continuing his research, the red-haired dwarf who he had spoken to before passed by the study, noticing him and entering the room. "Oho? Studying the scripture? Do you wish to join our temple perhaps?"

Antaeus

Antaeus's slow and meticulous movements were not going to win him any favors chasing prey, but thanks to his watchful and patience eyes, he would indeed notice something that even a seasoned hunter would miss easily. Anyone would expect the White Stag to leave behind deep footprints or perhaps fur in the bush; many seek it and keep their nose close to the ground. It wasn't until a curious glance around that Antaeus would notice the true key to finding the White Stag; he would look upwards and notice a few branches with notable scratches on their undersides. It would easily click into place for the young man; the White Stag, no doubt a great and tall beast, would have his antlers scratch even the tallest branches unlike other normal deer and bucks. Once he realized this he could easily track the trail the White Stag would have gone, at least while it's moving through the forest. That would be when Antaeus would notice just why such a creature is surprisingly hard to find.

Had he followed the deer trail Antaeus would be led towards the grass plains where deer are commonly sighted during their hunting season. While it would make sense for the White Stag to follow his fellow beasts in their migration, the trail Antaeus knew continued onward through the forest in the direction of the Salt Lake; a land locked body of water known for it's complete lack of fish but high concentration of salt. In fact, this was where the Frontier Town got most of it's salt locally. However it was also dangerous; the Salt Lake was outside of the Red Bear's territory, so there was no telling what sort of predators may be there. Indeed, the White Stag himself had to be a formidable creature to willingly go to such a dangerous place on his own.

Still, perhaps this would just be more in Antaeus's favor. Dangerous predators could be worthy prey to prove to the garrison leaders that Antaeus is worthy of being a warrior, and they may inadvertently help the young man hunt down the White Stag, possibly even slay it. Danger was always an ever present factor to these things, and it's only those with a heroic spirit who look pass danger to grasp victory.

Katherine

When Katherine arrived to the town hall, the person she spoke to was none other than another traveler who just arrived; he had struggled a bit with his written common, and thus had to have a scribe help write his papers for him. Or at least, a scribe who could also understand his lingo. Fortunately that same scribe spoke orcish, to which this young-half-orc man was quite fluent, so they solved that problem easily. So when Katherine approached the young half-orc he craned his neck. "Fancy dat. Yer a newcomer too eh? Ye, ya just missed da orientation, but dere's a lotta stuff ye can do round ere. Mines could always use more workers, but I imagine dat a lady like ye ain't interested in dat. I hear dat da Tavern could use a courier. Let's see... Some lass who runs da local school needs people I hear." The orc lifted his oar over his shoulder and shrugged.

"Personally dey all sound like a crap job ta me. Word on da street however is dat Barthen, da guy who runs da general store here, is paying a gold coin fer every pound of some herbs from da forest. I'm gunna head in dere and grab as much as I can carry and get enuff dosh ta start up a lil fishery. Interested in helpin a bloke out?"

Very very good, post em up in the CS tab. I’ll have a master post for us sometime tonight.
"ORAAAAAAH DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!" Marchosias shouted as his crossbow rattled, sending a heavy bolt tearing through the fragile undead. Normally he expected his weapon to be rather useless; against high level mobs he was better off just cleaving through them with his weapon. But these must be really low level mobs if his crossbow, which was only doing 1/4 the amount of damage it would normally do, kill kill them utterly. Still no time to dwell on his enemies weakness; these zombies were obviously just trash mobs meant to slow him down while the heavy hitters would come soon enough. Marchosias felt himself get buffed up and decided that it was time to move forward, putting his crossbow away in exchange for his lance.

Normally, such a long weapon in narrow corridors like a cave was a risky move; his weapon could end up getting stuck on a wall or other obstruction. But these caves were wide enough that he felt this wasn't going to be too big of an issue, not to mention the sheer amount of enemies around him meant he needed to be able to go through many enemies at once, instead of just whatever was in front of him. He noticed the additional Garef warriors who were rushing from behind, silently cursing himself for not checking for ambushers. "Tch... Only way to move is forward then. Fine then! Come forth, KNIGHTMARE!" Planting his Banner Spear into the ground, Marchosias summoned forth his War Mount; a fearsome Nightmare. If these enemies were as low level as he believed they are, then the Nightmare's innate fear aura should scare off the living Garef Warriors, though the undead will of course be unaffected. But that would also mean there'd be less to deal with.

"You there! Get on my horse and ride onward! I'll catch up!" Where Marchosias alone he would have mounted his Nightmare and charge through the horde, however since he needed to protect this stranger, it was better if he could reach the guild safely than for Marchosias. Besides, if he leaves then Marchosias can really go all out. As he covered the other person's escape, the Executioner would use his spear to impale any Garef warroir that got too close, using his superior reach to easily take down anyone who got within 10 feet of the black knight.

While it was expected for the undead to meet some resistance, the Necromancers did not imagine that their initial charge would be repelled so utterly. And by so few! Tea's wind wall slowed the momentum of the undead charge to a near grinding halt, which made them unable to brace themselves when Xavier came in, fist flying. His attacks broke through their bones and rend their flesh like a shovel through sand; he would feel little resistance as parts of the undeads bodies just caved under the weight of his blows, with most of them being too slow to even strike Xavier before he had either killed them or moved onto another enemy. The Necromancers commanded the zombies not immediately engaged against Xavier to push forward, only for those zombies to get flatten by a charging earth elemental. Before they could regroup, the Exploding Flame Lance struck down another group, eliminating the first wave.

The acolytes seem unnerved but the chief Necromancer wasn't at all afraid. If anything, he was a bit impressed. "I see, then these people are not so worthless after all! They will make fine minions! Send the second wave, RELEASE THE DEATH WORMS!" A second wave of undead garef berserkers charged forward, and alongside side them were huge worm-like monstrosities that tunneled through the ground, charging towards the guild. These Death Worms were also undead but no less deadly then their living counterpart, and now were tireless and fearless as the other undead warriors. One tried to tunnel out of the wall and bite into the Earth Elemental; the elemental was far too large to swallow whole, but the death worm could possibly still try to grapple it. The other Death Worm went after Xavier, coming out of the ground to swallow him whole, even if it had to kill many Undead Garef Berserkers to do so.

Antaeus

Barthen simply nodded understandably once Antaeus understood his fault and apologized for them. He couldn't blame the kid for trying; he remembered his own humble beginnings and how he had to beg and grovel for every little thing just to get ahead. Wasn't until he was already in the business for about ten years did things finally start to turn around for the better. As Barthen reminiced he perked up at Antaeus' question about the Redchaser, Mryn Atisha. "Lil Red? Can't say I have, at least not today. If she isn't already out in the forest doing a hunt, I imagine that she'd be at the garrison or at home." Barthen chuckled as he went back behind the counter so he could tally up Antaeus' equipment. "Hmm... Not to worry you, but maybe it'd be best if you don't ask her. After all, she's a hunter too. Chances are she's heard about the White Stag and is after it herself. Now, while I'm not saying that you shouldn't work together, I also know she's a prideful gal. Ever since she became the Redchaser she fancies herself the best hunter since Old Deadeye or Hircine himself."

As Antaeus gathered up his supplies, Barthen counted them up to five gold coins exactly. He also filled Antaeus' waterskin with clean water, free of charge. "Darts huh? That bring me back...." Barthen grabbed three of them, holding one between his thumb and index finger while the other two were held between his ring and middle finger. "A good dagger is more versatile, but a handful of darts is good too if you're the type to have a melee weapon in one hand and something to throw in the other. Certainly helpful since you'll be wrangling the White Stag. I should warn you, the White Stag isn't like most deer. Sure it'll run if you ambush it, but if you confront it in the open, don't be surprised if it charges. Those antlers it has ain't just for show after all. But perhaps you could use that to your advantage, eh?" Barthen chuckles as he takes Antaeus' money and hands the young man his gear.

"In any case, good luck and good hunting, Antaeus."

Livia

The mayor laced his fingers together and cover his mouth, mulling on Livia's word. While her mother did mention she was "capable of taking care of herself", he didn't like the idea of having a complete newcomer simply come in and risk themselves for the sake of the village. He was still worried about what could be in there, and there was a reason why he didn't simply let Nartur or any of the other miners just go exploring first. He's seen how these things can be, and the last thing he needs is for the villagers to accidentally awaken some sealed demon, or to come out of the mines as zombies. "I'm sorry, but I cannot allow you or Nartur to go into those mines. The risk is far too high to send one of our best miners in there, along with the daughter of a predominate family." Nicolas says this, however there was a hint of regret in his voice. Soon he signed and did offer another option.

"To be frank, I'm more worried about Nartur and her men. She means well, but she hopes to regain honor for the orcs through battle and glory. If she were to go down there, chances are she will choose to fight even when it would be better to stay her hand. And I can certainly assure you, even if you went down there she would be too stubborn to listen to you if you advise her against danger. But you.... I can tell you can understand my concern, so I have an idea that may still work. I have already asked Maeda, out town's resident mage, to try and find out what she can into the crypt through some magical means. This way no one would be immediately threaten. But between her duties as a teacher and her own research she has her handful as it is. But since you seem to be a knowledgeable sort, perhaps you can assist her in investigating the Crypt. I don't know the details but I'm sure Maeda does."

The kittens strayed away from Livia to go back to Monita, except one who was playing in a small barrel. It popped up from the barrel right in front of Livia's foot. It mewed cutely at her and tried to climb into her shoe.

Ethan

When Ethan returned to the tavern, it was less full than it was before, with only about half the amount of patrons. However those who stayed were quite drunk. Sips saw Ethan and raised a brow. "Done already? Righty mighty quick that was, good-" Then Ethan explained that he got lost at a simple fork in the road. Sips' look of disappointment was palpable. He took a deep breath, rolled his eyes, and walked to the back of his shop. That's when one of the girls working in the tavern, a blond elven lass, approached Ethan, quickly drawing on his map and speaking hastily. "You might want to leave quickly. The first village should be a two hour walk from the town and the fact you're not there already is going to throw the schedule pick ups out of order. Sips has been... Less then pleased at the past couriers who have either ran off with the supplies they were suppose to pick up, or just incompetent at following a schedule and directions."

The girl drew a rough idea of what Ethan's route should be: the first route showed a picture of a forest and a picture of an open plain, and he should go through the forest. Then he should reach the first village. Next the path would take him to what appeared to be a river with a stone bridge and what could be best described as a creek, and he needed to take the stone bridge to the second village. Lastly there was one more path that seemed to take Ethan through either a valley or over some hills or mountains, and he needed to go into the valley to reach the third village. Finally after that it seemed like he was either suppose to take a boat or just a long, winding path back to the Frontier Town. "Normally if you reach the villages on time, you could catch the fishing boat back to the Frontier Town somewhere around sunset, but since you're already a few hours late you might not be back until nighttime. Now hurry before Sips comes back with his roller!"

@Searat

Kael

A priest who was reading some scripture was approached by Kael with his questions. He adjusted his spectacles and examined the insignia. "Order of the New Dawn? I believe I have heard of this order yes, but I do not remember seeing anyone from that order. Allow me to check our records." Closing his book the priest went into an office for a few minutes. Kael was left standing there while the priest went looking. The temple looked and sounded more like a forge with the beating of hammers against steel echoing throughout the grand hall. Even the altar where the priest would hold his service appeared to be a large, archaic anvil for forging swords and armor. Soon the priest returned with a pile of books. "Unfortunately, we have no records of anyone by that name or from the order of New Dawn who arrived here. However, we do have records of various knights and adventurers who in the past who has asked for our service. Here are all of them on public record." There was at least eight different books and journals, each about three inches thick and smelling of ink and charcoal. The temple kept extensive records indeed.

"Now, I do not know your father, but perhaps he did come to our temple but never introduced himself by name or used an alias. Either way, our records would have a written description of each of our clients, what they ordered, and anything else of particular note. With any luck perhaps you may recognize your father among the recipients. Unfortunately we cannot allow you to take these tomes outside of our temple, but we have a study where you can read at your leisure."

Jarynth

Dormic stayed to help the other scribes review the documents and clean up when he was approached by Jarynth. He smiled and gave the man his full attention. "A wine maker? Sounds lovely. I'm sure Sips at the Drunken Dragon could use someone like you. As for buying a plot of land, for the most part you're free to try and make a home anywhere outside of the Frontier Town. Though we can't guarantee your safety or well-being outside of these walls, these lands are ripe for anyone with ambitions and opportunity. However if you do wish to buy land within the Frontier Town, or request the service of the town's workers or militia, speak to the mayor. He hands all contracts related to businesses and lands around the Frontier. As for wine itself... Well, we have some water and apple juice." Dormic offered Jarynth a wooden cup filled with sweet apple juice. Very sweet.

"Oh, and if you're from a guild, perhaps Barthen's could be of help to you as well. He wishes to establish a trade guild here and I'm sure he would be more than willing to include fine wine to his goods." Dormic says with a courteous smile.

@Black Keys
@Searat

Neither perception checks would tell you much. The forest is dense but the dirt road continues onward in there, while the grass field just appears to be just that; a grassy field. It seems like the road still continues onward so perhaps the grass has simply grown over the old dirt path.

The map doesn’t tell you anything else I haven’t already written for you.
