Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

Bio

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

You reminded me that I forgot to include a section for feats. I added one right above Class Abilities on the character sheet, if you'd be so willing to adjust as accordingly.
@Guardian Angel Haruki@Dark Cloud@Vertigo

Sorry for the double ping, in hindsight I probably should've just done this instead of in the interest check. Either way, feel free to start making your characters! Let me know if you need my assistance in any way.

We are also looking for one more player! I may be willing to accept 2, but I won't go further than a team of 5.
Took a million years, but I got an OOC up. Feel free to jump in chums!

Bullworth Academy. A prestigious school in North Carolina, boasting traditional values and a long history of raising promising students that have become successful individuals. With various facilities such as a furnished dormitory for boys and girls, an engineering and science building, multiple sports facilities, and even it's own shopping outlet, Bullworth provides all the amenities a student needs to grow into a fine, community minded citizen. At least, that's what it claims on paper. But in practice?

Bullworth is a school stuck in the past, forgotten by the outside world, and even those within it can't seem to see problems right in front of their faces. This is probably why this school, for all of it's prestige and glamor, is a school for troubled kids just one step away from juvenile detention. Rich spoiled kids who have overstepped their bounds, violent children who have parents trying to cover their crimes, strung out failures put here more for pity than for anything they're capable of, all sorts of delinquents and degenerates.

And you're one of them.

Maybe you were set up, maybe you were unlucky. Maybe you deserve to be here. But Bullworth is your last chance to shape up and become a good citizen... But things are never so simple, is it? Barely a month into your first semester and disaster strikes your school. Many ran, many cowered. You were one of the few who took action. Today, we will see how you roll the dice.

Hello, this is a Persona-themed D&D 5e game. While we will have concepts such as Shadows, Personas, various junganian philosophical themes, it will also have a D&D fantasy twist. A lot of your enemy shadows will be more based around traditional D&D enemies, though I'll also likely homebrew quite a few opponents who aren't original to either Persona or D&D. Indeed, many of your opponents you'll face will be different from either series, so don't get too cocky about your opponents!

As for your characters, you play as a student of Bullworth Academy in North Carolina, USA. This of course doesn't mean you can't play a traditional Japanese character since there's plenty of people of all races at Bullworth, for better or for worse. That being said there are some thing expected of your character as it will be detailed in the character sheet below.

Rules:
1. I am god. I may not be omniscient, but I'll do my best to be. I'm willing to discuss issues and discrepancies and I'll be as transparent as possible, but ultimately what I say is the final decision.

2. Play nice with your fellow players. Your characters may have beef, but that doesn't mean that you should antagonize one another out-of-character. But in addition to this, I will not tolerate disruptive play either. You should create a character who is willing, able, and wanting to cooperate with a team, not someone who will do whatever they want regardless of what everyone else says or does. If you're going to make a character who doesn't care what everyone else does, don't play them. "It's what my character would do" just tells me that you wanted to play a disruptive dickbag and expect me to cater to you. I will do no such thing.

3. I will be checking your rolls and I will only give you one warning if I catch you cheating. Do not automatically assume you have advantage or disadvantage, do not reuse old rolls, and label your rolls when you do them. It doesn't have to be anything lengthy, anything as simple as "Attack", "Perception" "Con Save" will suffice to me. If I catch you cheating a second time I will be rolling for you henceforth until you earn your rolling privileges back.

4. There will be some dark and serious themes. Racism, suicide, homophobia, violence, corruption of all types, and of course bullying. I won't lie: things will be bleak and I can't guarantee that you doing a good thing will result in good things happening back. If you do feel uncomfortable with something let me know so I can address it more appropriately, but this is a warning that it will likely happen and hit you when you least expect it.

5. For character creation we will be starting at level 3 and you will have a free feat. Stats will be 27 point buy, with 7 being the lowest and 15 the highest you can go. For starting equipment you have 200 GP to worth with, including anything you get from your background. I also allow for Origins customization. I will allow pretty much any official materials, however not the backgrounds from the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, Astral's Adventure Guide, and Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen. This is because the background features provided from these books grant feats or additional class spells, which makes them much more useful than standard backgrounds. I will try to incorporate your backgrounds into the story as best as I can, including your given features. If you don't feel any official backgrounds don't really suit your character, you may use this custom Background below.

6. I won't be too strict about post schedules, ideally we post at least once a week. But even I might not be able to keep up with that between life, work, and my DM duties, so at least keep me informed if you have difficulties making a post or may be gone for a certain amount of time.

7. When speaking in-character, please mark your dialog with some sort of bright color so it's easier to spot when something is being said. If you're saying something mentally, italicize it. All neutral NPC's I use will speak using Bold font, friendly NPC's such as your summons and helpful cohorts will speak in Bold Goldenrod while enemies will speak in Bold Firebrick.

8. And of course, have fun. More rules to be made as needed.

Optional Rules:

These are rules that aren't always going to be in play, but you may choose to engage with them if you so wish.

1. Alternative Weapons. My personal take on the 5e weapons that reduces the amount of redundancy while also changing how previous weapons function to make them stand out from their close equivalent. Example: changed the Glaive to be a 1d8 two-handed reach simple weapon so it's not another halberd, changed the Battleaxe to do 2d4 to make it stand out from the longsword 1d8/1d10, created the Longhammer to have a bludgeoning version of the halberd, etc. Most enemies will default to using the original weapon lists, but players are free to use the alternative version if/when they obtain a weapon from the list. Magic weapons may also use the alternative variant instead, and should be labeled as such when obtained.
Just dropping by to bump. Things have been busy in my life so on one hand, I probably shouldn't RP too much so I can focus on this new chapter in my life. On the other hand, I do still wanna do this. Feel free to ask any questions, suggestions, or drop some character concepts here while I'm sorting my life out.
Yeah, a sorta persona 5 approach. You got like a month or so before something big goes down, but you could possibly end it early and still have the rest of the few days to grind and such, or we can just skip to the end or something.

Either way, we can either wait for a 4th, or I can just throw up a OoC and see who bites. I find that folks tend to stumble upon the OOC to join too.
Another bump to show that this is still alive.

For those who are still with us, what are your thoughts about a sorta "Open World" type of campaign? Where basically there is t too much if a specific plot, and more that you and the group have to go out of your way to find the plot yourselves. Personally I was thinking of just doing it in a typical chapter like formula i.e. first chapter will have you fight one guy, next chapter we do build up until the next boss fight, etc etc.

Open world is good if you actually have stuff you wanna do that isn't just a dungeon crawl and fighting, like if you wanna engage with the crafting system, make cash, RP with folks, etc but if everyone isnt really into that there will inevitably be that one fighter or barbarian who has nothing to do, because their class features dont give them much if anything to do that someone with better class skills couldn't accomplish. And even if you do have a niche you could try to fulfill, it'll be an uphill battle to accomplish much unless I throw low DC's at you. Which I could, depending on the context.

Bump for interest. I'm still pretty busy but I have a slightly more coherent idea for the RP.

While before I was thinking of ripping from Persona 5 and escalate the threat from the school to a wider state, I'm thinking that instead most of the threats you all will be dealing with are mostly localized ala persona 4. Sure you might deal with something like a corrupt cop or maybe the local crime gang, but you're not going to be diving into the dungeon of a Presidential Candidate or something zanny like that.

Also, I'm thinking of setting the campaign in somewhere in America, since I'm not actually that privy to all of the Japanese laws and such to not basically make it America anyways. Plus this gives us a justifiably versatile cast on top of being a school for outcast and delinquents, who may or may not just be weebs.
Alright, I just need one more before I start this party then. I'll get some groundwork done in the meantime.
