A different scent hung in the air that morning. There was a different vibe than usual and Félina could feel it in her guts. But not only could she feel it, the cats did too. They were behaving restless, but oddly enough the young woman wasn't too worried about it. Although the cat café was still closed, she was enjoying some alone time while being surrounded by a bunch of cats of various sizes and colors. One was currently trying to get her attention, so it could get some scratches. While another was napping at the table she was seated at, and a few others were playing with each other.

"Stop putting your butt in my face, Sam!" Fé laughed, gently pushing the cat out of the way, so she could take a sip of her tea.

The sound of a cat flap opening made them all look up, and a huge cat with a shiny black coat and bright yellow eyes gracefully hopped in. Even Fé looked up from her tea, curious what kind of news it brought with him. For a moment she and the cats looked like they all shared some sort of collective consciousness. A smile grew on her lips, watching the black cat coming closer, patting on the table to invite that void with yellow eyes onto the table.

"Newcomers? Are you sure, Nox?" She asked with a sweet voice, referring to the black, fluffy one. Nox jumped up, gliding a little across the table. It tried to be elegant, but failed miserably.

So she was right; things did feel different this morning and Nox only confirmed her feelings. With her hands above her head to stretch her body, she got up. She wasn't going to sit here and do nothing while there were newcomers in town. Curiosity got the best of her, and she was dying to have a look herself.

"How does that saying go again?" She was pouting her lips while she was thinking about it. "Curiosity never killed the cat?" That wasn't how that saying went.

As Barrock walked into the inn, something hairy, gray and on four paws saw the opportunity to walk in as soon as he opened the door. It let out a soft "Mrreeeow", moving between the legs, while rubbing against the legs of the newcomers and the others. Her fluffy tail high up in the sky, with the tip slowly moving from left to right. The cat curiously sniffed their legs and taking in their scent while leaving her own on them.

When it was done, the cat gracefully jumped onto the counter next to the receptionist. Her gray eyes looked at the newcomers, who looked exactly like Fé's eyes but with slits instead of round pupils. Her tail wrapped around her feline body, hiding her front paws underneath all the fluff. The newcomers looked very out of place, as if they didn't belong here at all. Except for the one with the beard. Compared to the others he was actually dressed for this kind of weather. But the strangest of them all was the fellow with the fossilized bones, what was going on with that?

She was softly purring, curiously watching them. Wondering to herself what they were doing here and how they got here. She glanced up at Barrock who dumped a bunch of clothes on the table in front of the newcomers. But when the receptionist called him a gentle giant, a human-sounding laugh came from the cat.

Being a shapeshifter came with its perks. She could change into a cat whenever she wanted to, but also use their typical feline abilities. Such as being able to see in the dark, having a good sense of smell and her balance was always perfect. The other perk was that she could scare the living shit out of newcomers who didn't know about her shape shifting abilities.

"Gentle giant?" The cat snickered. "More like grumpy giant." Fé joked while she was still in her cat form. She gave Barrock her most innocent and cutest cat look. She knew he hated to be poked fun at, but Fé really couldn't help herself sometimes.
