So what if the story revolves around actually getting the cards like for stores and stuff? Was always curious to see how in a culture completely dedicated to a single card game, nobody could really duel and the most mundane cards seemed amazing. Perhaps we could so something with that angel?

Either that or we'll start out as privates in a duel army, who are recruited to assist in a war against dimensional plains.
Just a few ideas.

Also as far as dueling goes. I'm for the two main parties discussing who'll win amongst themselves. Then, have the GM generate the draw order.
My main issue is visualization as its like playing chess over texts. Yeah, you can see where everything is and go back to look but its going to get pretty inconvenient at some points.
I've got my eye on this. Just going to read up and see if I missed anything, after the intro post, so I can chime inw ithout repeating anything already talked about.
Sorry guyes. Working retail and its be hell these last couple of days. I'll try and get a response to what I've been thinking soon!
@ZAVAZggg

This looks interesting. I will offer my two cents here and say that you should make the crystals physical implants. Like you use them but they graft onto your body at skin level. Maybe at Chakric centers or some other place. Then limit just how many a player can have in them at one time, and put limits in so they can't just change a crystal out whenever they feel like. Make them suffer exhaustion and have to rest or something along those lines.

As for the company, if they can do that much, the question is how? Do they also use the crystals? And if not, then are the crystals enough to overcome whatever it is they do use?

See that's the problem with godlike antagonists. They are either unbeatable, or must be nerfed illogically in order for the players to win.

EDIT: For placement, make it random. Have some in the safekeeping of the antagonists, and others scattered. Because lets face it, the chances of these things staying in one place for too long would probably be very low, unless said antagonists are extremely good at what they do.

EDIT 2: As for sandbox or limited, honestly I don't know. Sandbox could work if you allow new players to seek after the crystals used by the old once said old players leave or go inactive, but on the other hand it allows for posting to slow greatly since the plot doesn't really need to be focused on.

Because sandbox.

If you go limited however, and make the goal getting the crystals and overthrowing the antagonists, then the roleplay itself probably won't slow, especially if you have a reasonable time period in which you expect posts. Then again it will need a definite end, be that good or bad, and it would prevent newcomers from joining once it's over.

Yeah. I definitely like the idea of characters being stuck with crystals, and only allowed to change them at certain locations. It adds a good element of difficulty into the system. Some other drawbacks would be good too. Perhaps there's some form of social stigma for those who use the crystals, or exhaustion, or maybe there's a risk of a character losing themselves to the beings kept within the crystals?

As for the company, they're not really the villains at all. They're more like builders for various worlds. They're neither good or evil. They just sell a service. AS far as how, I'm still working on it, but I'm thinking they're equipped with the fractured remains of the entity who actually created the multiverse, or have said entity's remains in possession and through reverse engineering aquired their abilities. It's still up in the air at the moment.

Edit 1 Yeah. I kind of see them like devil fruits. They're highly sought after and people are constantly being killed just to get a hold of them.

Yeah. That's the thing with sandboxes. It's all a matter of how people play. I mean, yes you can put different stories into effect but ultimately without people then nothing happens. I've seen this go down in both plot and sandbox so its hard to chose.

Edit...
Also do posting requirements work for sandbox? I haven't seen that done before, but i would think it would cause confusion like people post so quickly and since that's going on so frequently, people lost track of what's going on and give up.

It's a very versitile idea, that can work either way, but it's best to have the plot figured out at least somewhat so that we have a place to turn if things get unclear.

As for the crystals? Hm....A point system probably would be good, or have them plot driven instead of character driven? A limited amount of crystals and maybe only certain classes of characters can equip specific crystals? Like...every person is given a class at birth even if they can use magic or not. Most regular people don't know their class, only that they can use specific crystals to cast magic or something?

I'm just worried about things getting too complicated, and having to keep too many notes in order to keep rping

As far as plots, was thinking the main cause could be tension between various sectors like a cold war type situation.
Yeah. I was thinking of the class system, but I think that would be far more complicated then the point system because instead of just basing on range of effect, there's group and possibly sub groups.
Was thinking it would be interesting to have this sort of company involved, which has the ability to manipulate reality freely, on god tier level. Various organizations, galaxies, planets, etc, etc, hire them to impose reality laws at various levels. These could range from denying magic or technology at certain levels to energy limitations, physics mods, etc, etc. They would also have soldiers which are armed with super advanced weaponry which can also completely deny various feets and abilities.
Hey there!
Bored roleplayer here. Curious if anyone is interested in doing a multiverse rp in an isekai setting? Have a few ideas but open to recommendations and suggestions!
@Kierax

this sounds a bit interesting, but i think it would work as a small group rp with definite endgoal. Something like "restoring the heroes" or "shattering the crystals so all can use skills" ....or something of the like. The idea itself is actually quite captivating....the heroes of old being captured and turned into crystals against their will is a definite dark twist and i like that.

I'd love to talk more about this, because iseki stuff is one of my favorite genres. <3

Honestly I was leaning more towards a larger group, since there would be more exploration with the crystals, but I'd be happy to do a smaller, plot driven group too. Really, it comes down to how many people we get and what they'd prefer.
Although a set goal of saving the heroes or destroying the crystals would make things a lot cleaner too, in the long run, and easier for things to keep going as there's a point of focus.
But yea. Let's talk about it.
What do you think as far as limits on crystals? My initial idea was to give each character a point limit and have a ranking system for crystls. So they can mix and match but that could be complicated.
interesting
An idea for a sandbox style iseki roleplay just popped into my head and I had to get it down to see if anyone would be interested, or had any ideas of how to go about it?

Basically like any iseki our characters would die, and end up in a whole other would, a multiverse, but what makes it different than others is that the heroes and villains (in media) don't exist, anymore. As they were all killed off with their powers or abilities, or items taken and implanted in special crystals which people can equip in order to gain said abilities/ items/ skills/ etc/ etc....

So here's some questions for people
-What kind of limits should be placed on the crystals?
-How should these crystals be dispersed?
-Would this work better as a sandbox or limited roleplay?
I'm definitely interested in this. Think I've got an idea for a hero already.
Interested in discord, but not too sure because I'm not on that too often
Hmmm
