Unpopular opinion time! Last of Us Part 2 was a good game overall. I liked Abby and had fun playing as her.

Sadly, I am afraid that I have to drop out. Something came up at the last minute that needs my attention. Sorry.
I will try out for the commander role.

Name
Georgie Evans

Age
45

Gender
Female

Role
Commander

Specialty
Evans was trained for this classified expedition by the best explorers, surveyors, and archaeologists. But, she avoided their suggestions and advice, crafting her own path. That's what happened when you select a General's daughter to led.

Personality
Being in the military for so long has caused Evans to become ruthless and cold-spirited.

Appearance
Evans was still good looking for her age, standing at five foot and two inches with an athletic body. Her slightly long blonde hair was one of the few things that she didn't change. For her uniform, she stuck with traditional military apparel with a holster for her pistols. And she also worn her service cap whenever possible as a reminder of her struggles and its reward.

History
Being the only woman in a military family was tough. Having your father fought in the Great War as a general was tougher. Georgie was always treated like an angel, but she knees that he was disappointed with having a daughter instead of a son. So, she started proving herself. Following her family's tradition, she enlisted in the Royal Army and was flat-out rejected. Yet, Georgie decided to fight for the right to join and took it to court. It only took a year before the judges sided with her.

Her time at boot camp was a challenge as the other soldiers and commanders dismissed easily. That made Georgie more determined. And she found her gift: leadership. It took decades of fighting to prove herself before she finally was promoted to Commander. Georgie, for the first time in a long time, was content with her life. Until she was contacted with a once-in-a-lifetime offer.

And she gladly accepted it.

Once the police officers realized there was someone else, it was already too late to react. Overwhelmed and surrounded, there was no other option than to retreat. A few officers sacrificed themselves to ensure that everyone else was able to escape without harm. And after killing the last remaining officer, Firefly understood that it would be a waste of them chasing after them and decided to let them run away. Now, his attention was on the base and the soldiers outside. He tried to make his way up to the stairs, but guns were immediately drawn upon him and his partner. One of them, a young woman, slowly got out of her cover and cautiously looked around her surroundings. "While we are grateful for your assistance, it doesn't mean you're allowed to approach us. Who are you?"

Firefly lowered his rifle and slowly held his hands up. "I am Division Agent Bates, empowered and authorized by Executive Order and DHS Directive 51. We are here to help."

There was some mumbling between the JTF soldiers while the woman examined the agents. Of course, she didn't believe it. Given the current state of the city, Bates was understandable of the distrust and was prepared to earn their trust. He was about to respond until the solider was alerted by her comms. She signaled one of the other soldiers to keep an eye on the strangers and head inside the base. An awkward silence followed for seconds. Then, the doors opened wide, and the soldier told them to follow her.

Firefly nodded and made his way inside, but nothing could have prepared him for what he saw. A dozen casualties filled the entrance while the few doctors and nurses were doing their best. He did his best to avoid the dire situation and kept on following the soldier. Eventually, they arrived at the makeshift command center, where another doctor was treating a soldier's gunshot wound. No doubt it was Romero. She noticed the strangers and turned towards the doctor.

"We can continue this later, doc."

"But, I wasn't done-"

"We can continue it later." The last word came out sharper than intended, but it got the point across. The doctor said nothing but it was clear that she was unpleased with the demand. And when it only the three of them, Romero took a moment to examine the strangers before introduction herself. "I was told that a pair of well-equipped men saved our asses from death. Now, I don't know if you are a blessing or a curse in disguise. I guess we will find out eventually. Introduce yourselves."

"I am Division Agent Bates, empowered and authorized by Executive Order and DHS Directive 51." Firefly extended his hand out to her, but it became immediately apparent that Romero didn't trust them. He put his hand down, and awkwardly continued talking. "And this is-"

Romero put her hand up to interrupt him. "Can't he talk?"

"Well, yes-"

"Then, let him speak." Romero turned her attention towards Badger, waiting for a response.

PENNSYLVANIA PLAZA // JAMES FARLEY POST OFFICE
"Nice to meet you, Hayes." Romero looked at the agent a bit longer than expected before making her way to the soldier. Bates knew that she was planning something. "Gather a squad and advance towards the Garden. Wait until the agents arrive."

With the new orders, the young soldier dismissed herself, leaving the three of them alone. Even with the introductions, there was some tension left in the room. Bates understood that Romero was still suspicious of their presence. And she wanted to make sure that he and Hayes weren't liars. So, the agent turned towards the captain and tried to move the convention along.

"What's the Garden?"

Romero chuckled at the question. "You know, the massive arena next door. You most likely call it the Madison Square Garden. When the hospitals began filling up with infected, temporary hospitals were set up by the city to ease up pressure. The Garden was one of the largest in the city. That was until City Hall happened." Bates noticed that the captain said the last sentence with a hint of sadness in her voice. It was something worthwhile to note for later.

"We remained in operations since then. But that was until the power went out about a day or two ago. And with everything around me falling apart, I had no choice but to abandon the hospital." Romero was silent for a moment before looking at her wound. It wasn't getting any better. "That's why I need you two to collect any remaining fuel given it hasn't been taken already. We planned on gathering as much as possible, but then... well, you saw what happened."

Bates still wasn't unable to believe that the situation got worse than expected. It was clear that he had to help out. Even if the hospital's already picked clean. "Don't worry. We will come back with plenty of fuel."

"Thanks-" Suddenly, Romero cried out in pain and saw that her wound had reopened. The doctor from earlier busted in and attended to her patient. She seemed to whisper something, but the captain wasn't able to talk. Bates knew that it was time to depart for the Garden. Then, his smartwatch lit up as ISAC alerted him of an urgent call for headquarters. Overload asked if their objective was fruitful, expecting to be disappointed.

"We found JTF forces along with its leader, Romero. But I regret to report that several NYPD officers were setting siege to their base upon our arrival. We had to take them out. Earlier, we were also under attack by two police officers after they opened fire on unarmed civilians. Over." Romero answered. Overload was about to respond until someone interrupted him. He spoke with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Understood... You will have to explain it to the commander once she arrives. Over."

"Wait, what for?!" Romero tried to ask the reason for her presence, but Overload ended comms before he could've said a word. Did it have something to do with him killing the police? It wasn't like they were given any choice besides getting killed. Or maybe it was something else entirely unrelated? The thoughts were driving him paranoid. For now, though, he had to focus on retrieving the fuel from the arena. But he had to utter a curse word under his breath before heading outside.

There wasn’t much time before the Vice-Admiral was scheduled to depart for Utrost. With that in mind, General Treselang quickly made his way to meet with the Vorn Tigers recon squad to give them their orders. Based on the limited information about the squad, there weren’t any other options than to hope that the job gets done. Once the shuttle landed, Treselang made his presence known to the squad.

“I take it you all are the Vorn Tigers?” asked the general.

“That would be us, sir.” The leader of the squad, Sergeant Vale stated. She quickly rose to her feet, setting down her rifle as she saluted Treselang. Around her was the rest of her team, each one suited up for the mission as it drew nearer. They all turned their attention to the arrival of the General.

The members of Vorn Tiger squad each had their own little rituals ahead of a mission, small superstitions. Zena’s was the frantic care with which she looked after her A280, a white rag alongside it on the floor where she had been seated cleaning it. The rifle practically shined in the lights of the hangar. It was always spotless, how Sergeant Arash drilled into her mind during her early days in the rebellion. Private Leapfar’s ritual was the nap she took before every single mission, though the Nosaurian had popped right awake at the arrival of General Treselang though. As the squad’s resident sniper dropped down from her X-Wing her fellow soldiers smirked.

“Good.” General Treselang nodded as his second-in-command arrived with a datapad for the leader. He took it from Meffaa and had a brief look, making sure that everything was correct. Then a few seconds later, the general handed it to the sergeant and asked her to follow him to the comm room for debriefing. “What were you told about this mission?”

“That we were going to deploy ahead of the rest of the ground troops. Into a potential hotzone.” She stated plainly, repeating the simple sounding orders that Republic command had given her team. As she followed the general the rest of her squad looked around at each other in curiosity before going back to what they were doing before the general’s arrival.

“Did our assignment change, General?” She inquired as her eyes glanced over the datapad. What command had told her about their role in the mission was not much to go by, but it squirted the typical role her squad played on the battlefield.

“It has.” Treselang answered. He made his way to the holomap and turned it on, revealing the old Republic base. “This former Republic base is an ideal place for the main force, but the Imperium have secured it. Your orders are to scout out the base and take it, if possible. If not, report the strength of their presence. But, there’s something… else that requires your touch. Tell me, do you have a demolition expert?”

“That would be me, sir. I typically carry all manner of explosives with me on mission. I know how to plant remote detonated ones to hit the Imps extra hard. What exactly requires an explosive touch on this mission, General?” Zena asked inquisitively, smirking as she spoke of her expertise with explosive manners. It was no secret that she enjoyed that part of her job.

The commando did wonder what more this mission entailed. The objectives seemed to have changed from simple reconnaissance to taking it. She doubted the Imperials stocked the base with troopers, certainly not more than Vorn Tiger squad could handle. Hell, she almost took it as a challenge if there were too many of them. Zena was no moron though, she wouldn’t drag her team into a fight against overwhelming numbers and odds. But from her many operations against the Imperials she knew that if you struck them brutally enough then the numbers advantage would matter less and less.

“Well, I’d prefer keeping this part between us. I won’t want the Vice-Adminal nor the Council to know about this until it happens.” Treselang switched out the map of the base to the layout of several locations. He looked at the hologram for a moment and then turned to Zena. “Before I joined the rebel cell, I was leading a community that was displaced by the Empire on Lothal. That was until… we were attacked. The rebel cell that saved my life were unable to save the others that were killed or sent to a detention camp. There are two on Utrost. I want you to save the prisoners and destroy the camps. Then, head out to the nearby mines and blow it up. Any questions?”

“It will stay between me, you and my team. They won’t have any issue with freeing prisoners, they each were slaves or prisoners of the Imperial at one point in their lives. Rest assured they will be saved, General.” Sergeant Vale stated in a firm tone. It was not the first time her squad had been asked to free captives, she knew her team would rally behind doing it.

“Are we to move onto that after we recon and take the former Republic base, sir?” She asked.

“Yes.” the general responded as the hologram was turned off. “We need to make sure that the Imperium bleed especially if we don’t end up taking the planet. Your team is doing that by striking where it’ll hurt them the most: resources. Just make sure to contact me once you freed the prisoners. I will arrange transport for them to my ship. May the force be with you all.”

“We will make those bastards hurt, sir. I can assure you of that. My team always hits them hard. We will keep a line of communication once we’ve landed planetside.” Zena replied as her voice swelled with pride over their past actions against the Empire. If there was one thing Republic command knew about Vorn Tiger squad it was their determination and drive on these types of missions especially.

“May it be with you as well, General.” Sergeant Vale added with an inspired salute before she exited the room to return to her team. The commando then exited the comm room to get back to her eager squad.
