Other: Born into the powerful Lecarde family of Scotland, Bartus is one of the first non-humans to attend Hogwarts. You might think that his non-human background might give him and advantage, but, you would be wrong. Due to the need for him to fit in and attend classes with the other students, Bartus has to take a special potion every morning that allows him to eliminate his intolerance of sunlight. This potion, however, leaves him very sickly and weak. He is also unable to weild the average wand, due to it not being large enough to channel his limited magical talents through. To make matters worse, despite the insistance of his parents, he is confined to the same sleeping patterns as the human students, meaning he is unable to roam the halls at night, special exceptions being granted during holidays when there are no classes and other students are gone. Due to him being from a noble background, as well as being forced to remain in a constant weakened state, Bartus has a special assistant that carries his belongings. He does eat with the rest of the students, although this is mainly a show as he will secretly drink animal blood when out of the view of other students. His vampirism is to remain a secret, for fear of parental backlash.

Other: The Harrison family line is not a well known one. They are a family of Werewolves that have been in service to the Lecarde family for over 400 years. They stood watch over their masters as they slept in the day and hunted down their enemies as powerful Werewolves at night. Maria is a home-taught witch that is officially recognized by the Ministry of Magic, having passed her O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. tests with flying colours. She is at the school to watch over her young master, as her family has done so for many generations.


An idea I quite like for this, I know it seems a little unorthodox, but trust me, I am going to be playing Bartus' Vampirism as a weakness rather than a strength.
