I didn't think of the options when I was writing? Also I feel she'd be a bit stingy about her money and spending it on fast food. Even though she loves a good cheeseburger now and then.
Honestly, I was thinking something like a delivery service. Just like they kinda started recently, someone goes and shops for you.
Devika followed Roxy inside, with the smell of the pizza wafting invitingly after her. "No thanks, I'll just eat with my hands." Devika grinned. "Pizza is not a silverware kind of food."

She wondered how long it would take to not feel like a guest in Roxy's space. "As far as drinks, soda will be just fine, thank you!" Mostly she was eager to get to the pizza. Groceries were one thing, but most fast food places didn't deliver so far out where she used to be. She could think of a whole list of things that she wanted to eat. Maybe it would make the transition back to the city more fun.
Dreamselfy didn't want to work for me either. It wouldn't let me save anything.
"Noise canceling headphones. That's a good idea, I didn't think of that." There was a lot to consider, but Roxy seemed like the intelligent type. She was sure the other woman would have plenty of ideas.

"Thanks for the ride." She murmured to the cab driver as they got out. Then it was back in front of the garage. She could see that Roxy looked a little ill at ease, and Devika wondered just why. However, she didn't ask. It was far too early to ask something like that, even if she was a bit worried.

"Shall we get inside and get to that pizza?"
Picture:
Name: Kassandra Keigwan
Race: Mermaid
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual probably
Occupation: Monk / Baker
Weapon/s: Gauntlets

Information: Kassandra has set up a small bakery on the edge of town. She welcomes all comers, plying them with hot tea, delicious cakes and pastries, and asking for stories. She doesn't venture out much on her own, but can be convinced to go out and adventure. When she fights, she is fierce and dangerous, hinting at something else in her past beyond delicious baked goods.
"Trust me, it seemed like longer." Devika's face flashed in a wince of a smile. "But you're right. I've had it better than some, and readjusting won't be terrible." She'd heard of empaths stuck in isolation for decades before getting a match - or worse, getting none at all. Though she had a feeling some of that was urban legend around the community.

"It will probably be a few weeks, even though my parents will want to see me right away. There's bound to be a lot of emotion involved, and frankly I'm not ready for that yet." She smiled at Roxy, for real this time. "I do appreciate your understanding about it, though. I'll let you know, when the time comes."

Were cars always this loud, or was this more adjustment fever? Devika settled back in the seat, trying not to groan at, what felt like, a cacophony of sound from both inside and outside the vehicle.
High fantasy romance sounds like fun.
Posting for scared guppy Kassandra. She's just a bit nervous about the whole thing.
Kassandra, AKA Mirage

Kassandra looked at the tiny device in her hand as if it were made of precious gold. To her mind, it might as well have been. And to be given a direct order from the King himself? She was going to faint...

Of sheer terror, that was.

Why did she think she was up to this? Aquaman should have left her in the little backwater Tritonis town he found her in. There she'd probably be safe. Unappreciated, unloved, unworthy, but safe. Here - anything was happening. She gave a shy side glance to her other teammates and clipped on the device to her ear. Best to try it out now.

"Um... everyone..." She heard a tiny, distinct trill in her ear and completely forgotthe rest of what she was going to say. "Um... hello? It's me, Mirage. Just testing the equipment. Um... have a nice day."

Oh dear, she was so out of her depth. If only the Queen had decided to start anywhere but Tritonis. But no - it was her turn to do something actually noteworthy, and she would make sure Queen Mera was safe and sound. Somehow.
